He makes money out of it, everyone around him is also a wrongun, it’s how he’s been brought up, he’s a narcissist. The other aspect is he’s a genuinely intelligent person who lives his life surrounded by pretty stupid people and therefore likely holds his individual perspective in higher regard than he should because it doesn’t get appropriately challenged.

Regardless of what you think of Joey Barton, he’s definitely an intelligent man. I think he’s a fucking twat but he also managed to get 10 good GCSE’s from a comprehensive school in Liverpool. He’s not thick, which if anything makes the nonsense he spouts even worse.

Because, unfortunately, there are a lot of people, including women, that actually think the shit he spouts is valid. I kid you not. I know of at least 5 fellas and at least 3 women that absolutely love the shite he says. So, whilst he has "fans" of his shit, he will forever think he is the voice of the people.
