This happens to me at most traffic lights in Plano, I just pause the music until the light changes. I assumed it had to do with traffic management, sensors, flow control or whatever.

Now it makes sense. Everyday when I’m landing in Dallas ATC cuts out and I hear yacht rock. 🤘🏼

Lol 😂 thats not me. Now if it was BigXthaPlug I’d be guilty
IAmSixNine@reddit

"I got downvoted for my shitty comment so now I'm going to pretend it was a joke to make myself feel better"
IAmSixNine@reddit
Bummer you took it as a shitty comment and not a joke.

Happens to mine on the PGBT between Preston and Coit every time too. Must be some sort of high RF interference
9bikes@reddit
>be some sort of high RF interference
That is it.
For a few years, I worked for a commercial DirecTV dealer. One of our customers was directly across from LAX. I believe they were the only customer where we had to give up refund what they'd paid for installation.

Android phones don't have these issues. I have clients use android phones for travel etc.

Android phone, Toyota Corolla. Multiple places, not just around DFW, where Android Auto cuts out almost certainly due to WiFi interference. It's always in the same places, not just around airports, after a short while it re-connects and everything is good.
VelociTopher@reddit
1000% not true. It happens with android auto too.
ihatedisney@reddit (OP)
The comments on my post seem to indicate otherwise
MAN_UTD90@reddit
I had this issue in a car with a cheap aftermarket radio. Another car I had, there was a point near the airport and another one in Richardson where every time I'd drive by my dashboard would die for a few seconds. I always figured it was some sort of RF interference
DarkSideRunner@reddit
Well now I know I'm not crazy lol I got wireless android auto and it keeps cutting out around 121 and 114 area.
lauraellis84@reddit
I used to live in DC and every time I drove past The Pentagon I’d lose any and all phone signal and CarPlay would go out as well. Interesting!
SimpleSimon665@reddit
Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto operate on the 2.4GHz radio bands which is used for WiFi and other radios.
When you're passing toll scanners, cameras, and other radio connected devices, they could potentially interfere with your wireless CarPlay/Android Auto connections temporarily.

Your phones are changing cellular towers it interrupts and forces a reconnection, it's to do with Apple whilst changing. Works better plugged in, however can still happen.

How would that give my MMI black screen? Doesn’t happen in my wife’s expedition
cjgrtr2@reddit
Happens to my wife and I by DNT on spring creek in Plano
