Anthem all the way. ODB is so low back pressure that it's incredibly fickle about what host it'll work on. Tons of people end up drilling their port to create more gas pressure for it to function, which is literally causing the issue that it's supposed to help mitigate (more gas).

Anthem has been out for a few years but it's still king for S length 30 cal suppressors for anyone chasing decibels.

Generally you won't get full function without a suppressor. That can be anything from failure to extract or feed or failure to have last round bolt hold open. It depends on the overall system, from barrel to buffer to bolt carrier group.

If it's already undergassed with a standard gas block an AGB won't help, it will do the opposite. Have to open up the gas port if you want more gas.

I guess I don’t know if under gassed. I originally got the AGB due to the Omega causing more pressure and was trying to tame the gas. This was 8 plus years ago now.

Yeah so if it’s over gassed you would use the AGB to tune the gas down, but if it’s already wide open and still not enough your only option is to widen the port.

From a pure sound performance perspective, the ODB is insane. But from a reliability standpoint, I cannot recommend it for 300 subs anymore. It simply is too finicky.

To my knowledge, the ODB is not technically rated for high volume 308 semi auto. But, the RDM is unique. As long as CAT will warranty it, ODB would have better flow dynamics.

Pick up a Riflespeed and reap the benefits. I’m normally not a fan of AGBs but I love my Riflespeed and have yet to be able to get it to carbon seize.

CAT ODB doesn't have enough backpressure to makeup for the subpar dwell time of shorter setups (<8"). This is further exacerbated by the fact that there's significant variation in powder burn rates for subsonic ammunition... In my experience the CAT ODB is amazing at sound suppression but it's not well suited to setups that already have less than ideal gas systems.

Can anyone walk a noob through how this works? You pay for the suppressor and then... They ship it to your FFL who submits your NFA paperwork? You buy it and then submit the form yourself online and then it ships?

Yep, but make sure to call your ffl first. At least by me some of them don’t do suppressor transfers.

If you send one to a shop that has a silencer shop kiosk it makes things even easier. Most stores charge around $100-150 for the transfer + kiosk use by me.

Just shot mine on Monday, it was a big improvement over my already solid Resonator K. The ResK was hearing safe with subs outdoors, it was as loud of my 16ga finishing nailer. But the Anthem S2 was even quieter and had a deeper, more pleasant sound. It's certainly much more volume with the extra 1/4" diamiter and several inches of length.

I'm running the LPM Liberty Bell break and Comstock recessed hub adapter.
