Best 2x2 apartment buildings in Dallas (Victory Park / Uptown / Turtle Creek / Knox) — avoiding bad management

Hey everyone — my brother and I are moving to Dallas this summer for work (early 20s, working in finance downtown) and looking for a 2 bed / 2 bath apartment.
We’re mainly considering Victory Park, Uptown, Turtle Creek, and Knox-Henderson (but open to other nearby areas). Budget is flexible, but we’re focused on good value — not necessarily ultra-luxury, more so solid management, safety, responsive maintenance, and nice amenities.
Since we might not able to visit in person before signing, we’d really appreciate any input on:
- buildings you’d recommend
- buildings you’d avoid (and why)
Thanks in advance — trying to avoid signing somewhere with hidden issues.

Hey! I work with a lot of clients relocating to Dallas, and you’re looking in great areas but you’re 100% right to focus on management over just “luxury.”
For 2x2s in Victory Park / Uptown / Knox / Turtle Creek, here are some solid options I’ve seen consistently perform well in terms of management, maintenance, and overall experience:
Victory Park / Uptown (walkable, social, close to downtown):
The Katy (right on Katy Trail, strong location + solid upkeep) Gables McKinney Ave (Gables tends to be consistent with management) Cirque (newer, modern, good amenities) Knox / Henderson (trendy but slightly more relaxed): The Taylor (clean, modern, well maintained) Bell Knox District (good value + decent management) Turtle Creek (quieter, more scenic): MAA Turtle Creek (consistent management company) Marquis at Turtle Creek (better value for space)
One thing I’d watch out for: some of the newer “luxury” high-rises look great but have ongoing complaints about maintenance delays, elevators, or management responsiveness definitely check recent reviews (last 2–3 months).
If you’re not touring in person, I’d recommend asking for the exact unit video (not model unit) and how quickly maintenance requests are handled.
If you want, I can send you a curated list of current 2x2 availability in those areas and even FaceTime units for you 👍
