If it was a man would you have done this post
Mehfisto666@reddit (OP)
If i had talked to him and he made me empathise with his situation as much as she did sure
grubslam@reddit
Nice
TenYearHangover@reddit
Now I know the secret of single handing!!! Surround your boat in dozens of fenders!!!
Mehfisto666@reddit (OP)
She'd been hiding there for some pretty harsh weather
TenYearHangover@reddit
It's inspiring. I'm not ready to single hand on a boat like that, so my strategy is MOAR FENDERS lol.
thecountnotthesaint@reddit
Why didn't she use both hands?
lecutinside11@reddit
Then she’d just be some average lady
neutral-labs@reddit
No, the average human has less than 2 hands.
Sig_the_Mammut@reddit
No quite, the average human has two hands, however, the average number of hands per human is lower than two
WayAgreeable3999@reddit
At least they have 2 feet they can use.
twitchMAC17@reddit
No, the average human has less than 2 feet
WayAgreeable3999@reddit
Nonsense. I’m at least two feet.
From the floor.
WayAgreeable3999@reddit
Words I have never said.
thecountnotthesaint@reddit
Ita not the size that matters....
alex1033@reddit
Coz Aperol Spritz, I presume.
malnek@reddit
I believe this is here (from memory, might be mistaken) https://youtube.com/@veronicaskotnes?si=R_pS4i6a7MGCIj_j
smootex@reddit
If that's her she's changed boats, looks like she's sailing a ketch in those videos.
malnek@reddit
Good catch. Edited my original comment, I was most likely incorrect.
smootex@reddit
It's an interesting youtube channel nonetheless.

Boreal 52 ??
Rino-feroce@reddit
Alubat ovni. 395 or 435 i think.
Typhoon365@reddit
Yep, 445 seems right. Super cool vessels
Typhoon365@reddit
My dream. What a badass.
gkalinka@reddit
an OVNI?
SG_87@reddit
Could be an older Ovni. Probably a 43?
Typhoon365@reddit
Yeah certainly an older Ovni from what I can tell. They seem like incredible boats, especially the new ones like the 365... My dream boat is something like that. Love these aluminum hulls.
Mehfisto666@reddit (OP)
I didn't quite catch what she said when I asked but I think Ovni sounds very likely. She said it's a french boat. Not sure the size I think she said 45 but I also don't remember
FrostnJack@reddit
No experience talkin’ here:
When single handing a boat that size, when in this process of backing away, and how long does it take to get all those fenders up and stowed?
FrostnJack@reddit
Makes sense. I imagined my creaky ole bod trying to hurry up and pull those things and taking 10-15’ to accomplish it… meanwhile, running aground or into something. LOL sigh
Thanks for the perspective and y’alls experience. What a lovely thing to be on the water in such a vessel!
sochok@reddit
In calm conditions like this I usually get the bow pointed where I want to go then pull up and stow them which only takes a minute or two. Worst case I just set the autopilot with enough throttle to move slowly forward and pull them then.
m00f@reddit
You wait until you have a nice bit of sea room, turn on the auto-pilot, and just casually go take them in. If you need to be at the helm to get of a complex channel you just leave them out there for a bit.
SamSLS@reddit
Is she going the whole way under power and in reverse … ?
Mehfisto666@reddit (OP)
Man you must be fun at parties
AbsoluteResolve2026@reddit
You seem impressed by small things; you must look down a lot.
pixelbased@reddit
I recognize an ovni when I see one. Love.
Sinn_Sage@reddit
Needs to use more fenders, I can still see the hull
curious-chineur@reddit
Shut up ! This is not a boat. This is a tug....
Glory to that person ! Better have too much defense than not enough.
MiddleAgedGamer71@reddit
My sound is off, but all I can hear in my head is "beep beep beep beep" like a truck.

I like AL boats. Just seem smart and tough.
