I suggest learning of the rise of The Nazi party in Germany. The protests are struck down with Non lethal methods of dispersal. Firehoses, dogs, henchmen, and everything else. These methods translate to tear gas, pepper balls, rubber bullets, and anything else they can use to make protesters leave or mad enough to fight and get arrested.

Joking aside, it's the reality of it. Without people with power helping, it's not really possible for many of us to do anything.

Potters couldn't save Rome anymore than a delivery driver can prevent the President from doing what he's doing.

Part of being good, sometimes, is realizing all we can do is survive and prevent what harm we can. Keeping faith in it being worth it takes effort though.
