Election day and tourists

Hi, will there be any major interruptions on Sunday due to election day? Like, public transport closures, public gatherings, police blocking squares etc.?
pdianaHU@reddit
Coctails for sure, venue depends on the result. Pina Colada or Molotov both are possible🫠

The short answer is no. People may queue before election offices and may be excited in the evening, but that's all.

On the basis of the expected high turnover and the experience of previous elections, we may not get results until well after midnight. I will sit on a vote counting committee which will keep me busy until the small hours in the worst case. I hope to join a street celebration before dawn :-)

No, most people will sleep as a baby early as Monday is workday. This is not a case of a so and so tyrant being replaced like some crazies make it out to be. These people have nothing better to do in their life they are in love with Orban in fact.

No, not on election day. The next day, I could imagine spontaneous street festivals, or some public buildings on fire, depending on the results.

Why would public transport close for election day? That makes absolutely zero sense.
woraw@reddit
To be fair it makes no sense it would close for J D fucking Vance either but I was barely able to get home today

Prepare for the biggest open-air party the country has seen in a long time.
Notanaltatall31@reddit
Or the biggest unscheduled mass protest in the last decades lol
rpad97@reddit
Everything will be normal until around 7pm, when when we will see the first results. After that there could be some spontaneous gatherings but I wouldn't expect any large disruptions

Tisza announced their official watch party to be held at Batthyány square, directly opposite of the Houses of Parliament across the Danube. I wouldn't expect any major disruptions elsewhere in town, but I wouldn't expect a quiet evening stroll around that part of the city either.
Fidesz traditionally holds their election night watch parties at Bálna, although the expected results are such that the top fidesz leadership might be spending the evening in the departure lounge at the airport.

One party will hold their results waiting gathering around Batthyányi-tér. That's the area tourists love taking pics of the Parliament I think. I recommend going in the morning if you want to avoid the crowd later. Or go around 7pm maybe you'll witness the biggest street party of the decade first hand, who knows
Victoria901101@reddit
TISZA party gathering starts from 18.00pm, I'd say it is fine til' around 3pm.

Maybe train delays, lot of people will be going home to vote and our train system shits itself on a regular basis, other than that as others said it should be peacfull until 7-8pm, afterwards no one knows truly.

Bro, there will be fucking civil war, doesn't matter who will win. Go back to your country! Fucking tourists can't stay on their asses while we have revolution. Kurva.

No. Maybe some little gatherings in the streets and some bars/restauranta but not as an interruption to anything.Just as an average Sunday
