I am begining to wonder if Not Just Guns is going to ship the 4-12 for the $909 they had on their website. I just looked and it is now $1149. I ordered the scope, a Eflx red dot and the 3-9 diving board bracket. I recieved the Eflx and the bracket but no scope. They charged my card $1354 but no notification of shipping the scope.

I found the eye relief on the 3-9x shockingly forgiving at low zoom when compared with a PA Prism. I hope the 4-12x follows

I think it’s purpose is essentially to be a modern acog stand-in, so I guess you’d compare the eye relief to that of a prism. Not bad, if you think of it like that.

i'd put it more as a modernized SPR optic, even. Think like the 2-10s or 3.5-12s from Leupold etc. even through that framing, they're still pretty interesting options given the size and weight in comparison to the older designs.
or as you said, acog that can zoom a bit more.

Great points. I’ve been holding off on getting serious glass for my 12.5” gpr, and I have a morbid obsession with this and the 3-9. It’ll be at the low end 99% of the time, which will make it function as a cheaper ACOG w/ slightly worse reticle, and giving me the high zoom option if needed. Kinda seems perfect if you’re an acog fan, but this opinion seems strangely scarce and I’m wondering why

Are you me? I have had one of the 3-9 in my opticsplanet cart for literal years. I keep telling myself that all I need is a dot on a 12.5, but all of your same points run through my head on the regular.
I genuinely don't understand why there are not more reviews of all of these - if it is _that_ bad I would expect lots of voices saying trash, but that does not seem to be the case

I’m with you. Love my ta02 on my GPR. This seemed like a logical choice for my SPR given its 12x capabilities with many acog-esque features.
