Subaru WRX CVT Leases?

Hi everyone, I was finally able to convince the wife to let me get a 3rd car/weekend driver. Thinking about WRX but has to be CVT in case the wife needs to drive it. Going the leasing route, is it reasonable to aim for below $400 with $0 down, or am I out of my mind?

Mind if I ask what metro area you're in? Lease deals tend to vary by location. Unfortunately it looks like Subaru only has one lease offer right now on the WRX and it's on the base Premium trim, which can only be had with a manual: $419 a month for 36 months - Lawrence

Your mostly out of your mind for getting something with CVT as a fun weekend car. Get something that is at least an automatic

In terms of fun to drive on twisty roads I feel like chassis tuning, steering, and power delivery, makes a bigger difference than CVT vs automatic.

I've never not had a manual, but people are obsessed with manuals. I more than likely won't get another one, and it will be fine. Get what you want. Does it have to be a third car though? Could it potentially replace your current vehicle?

Getting a CVT as a 3rd car ruins the point of a weekend car if it is going to be the same as your daily.

why get a cvt just cause your wife?, if she needs to drive, then have her drive her own car. a weekend car in auto is just another daily driver

Agree with this, I bought a WRX CVT just in case my wife wanted to drive it but she never did, so I traded that in for an STI
The CVT is a good car, but for a weekend car you need to distinguish it more from the dailies

Get the manual and teach her how to drive it.
