Where’s Mr. Zogs Sex Wax?
Osi32@reddit
Airwalk is also missing
Mysterions@reddit
Airwalk came out in the 80s, but was more of a 90s brand.
stuhstutter@reddit
I think they exploded in popularity in the late 80's. I wore a pair of Airwalks to school in like 1987 or1988 and I lived in the opposite of any trend-setting cool place.

Converse All Stars: All you need
Jef_Wheaton@reddit
Ron Jon Surf Shops in Florida would give you a free sticker with every purchase.
When I worked at Walt Disney World on the College Program ('93-94), there were a few "Program cars" that got passed around among CP attendees. One was a late 70s Chevy wagon that was entirely covered in Ron Jon decals. There had to have been several hundred of them.
stuhstutter@reddit
I saw that sticker everywhere in the 80's and didn't know even what state the actual store was in.
stuhstutter@reddit
Perhaps its more regional but WRV (Wave Riding Vehicles) was a huge surf shop whose logo was all around during this era.
I just now realized they were dolphins
Deamonchild666@reddit
Sex Wax??
stuhstutter@reddit
Man, I took me years to figure out what that stuff was. All the innuendo in the copywriting I figured it was some product for adults and it would be embarrassing thing to ask. And that's probably why their logo and merch did so well in addition to the product itself. I figured it was taboo. Then the thought occured to me that I always saw it in surf and skate shops so it must be something related. I was just a kid and thought it was some wax people put on their dicks for sex.
Finally I just straight up asked someone in a surf shop and the longtime mystery was solved.
mden1974@reddit
Specifically Mr zoggs
Cbates767@reddit
Where’s Nash?
Kidding. I’m kidding. I was relentlessly mocked for my Xmas gift.
stuhstutter@reddit
What about the slightly better Veriflex? I think you could get Veriflex from the Sears Wishbook but I'm not certain.
phxor@reddit
and really your comment deserves all the upvotes and awards, few of us were immune to parents thinking all skateboards/bmx were all the same.. now don’t mind me I’ll be standing way over here in my not gotcha shirt
phxor@reddit
Right next to my Huffy

Still rocking T&C, HIC, and stussy here in Hawaii.
arlenroy@reddit
I went to the Stussy store in Honolulu, it was packed with Japanese tourists, and pretty pricey. I was on the hunt for a T&C Surf shirt, I couldn't find shit, I was let down.
Affectionate_Ad_1558@reddit
Bummer! T&C, Hawaiian Island Creations all used to have stores in Waikiki, only at their mall locations now. Yup that stussy store can be packed with visitors from everywhere.
TankApprehensive3053@reddit
Sex Wax was huge and its not listed.

Trick-Mechanic8986@reddit
Got sent home for a Sex Wax shirt. A proud Spicoli moment.
ceeece@reddit
Needs Thrasher. I loved looking at stickers in our local skate shop. I had a blue John Lucero (eyes gleaming, hands on bars).
jseger9000@reddit
Maui & Sons was HUGE when I was in junior high. I went to school in Laguna Hills and the boys either wore Maui & Sons or Iron Maiden T-shirts. Except for me, living in section 8 housing. I couldn't afford either.
Kalena426@reddit
You would have loved their store, surf boards, boogie boards, shorts, shirts,
jseger9000@reddit
I later moved to Long Beach and there's a great long time surf shop there named Kanvas by Katin.
Metal-Salt@reddit
I'm with you homie, F those kids and their cool t-shirts.

Proof-Yam1970@reddit
No Alva. No Skull Skates. I call foul.
schmearcampain@reddit
No Sims or Kryptonics either
steezy_or_notsteezy@reddit
Loved Stussy stuff. Had lots of t shirts and pants in 85-90 or so , wish I still had them today, just to see them!
Mysterions@reddit
For whatever reason Stussy is still a popular logo in Korea.
steezy_or_notsteezy@reddit
Their website, they seem to sell reissues of things they sold in 98-06? Just after I stopped wearing it. Wish I still had the shirt I wore to eighth grade picture day, haha
Cbates767@reddit
Ok money bags. We get it 😂
steezy_or_notsteezy@reddit
Nah, Stussy was just like Vision Street Wear and Jimmy'z stuff back then. Skater stuff.
schmearcampain@reddit
lol Bad Boy Club. I always made fun of people who wore that brand. who tf you think you are?
dorkus315@reddit
No Powell Peralta?
vistaculo@reddit
McGill, Hawk, Caballero, and Mountain are represented
RevolutionEasy714@reddit
McGill just opened a pizza place by my house, Got to hang out with him and talk skating a few months ago and it was awesome. Great dude.
vistaculo@reddit
I’ve never heard a bad word said about that guy
RevolutionEasy714@reddit
I mean, he was in there bussing tables along side a couple of teenagers, love to see a legend like him demonstrate that kind of humility and setting a good example for those kids. Pizza was good too!
typhoidtimmy@reddit
Kevin Harris too (Canadian Mountie graphic)
vistaculo@reddit
I had that tshirt, my mom hated it!
theonetruegrinch@reddit
The Powell dragon is on the far right, second from the bottom
dorkus315@reddit
This one. With the backward 9’s.
Front_Line669@reddit
I thought bones was Powell peralta
typhoidtimmy@reddit
It is.
Bones Swiss bearings and CrossBone Wheels are offshoots of Powell Peralta
Front_Line669@reddit
Okay that’s what I thought thank you
Suspicious_Wonk2001@reddit
It’s the skull with the snake in its mouth.
Junior_Article_3244@reddit
Christian Hosoi was the epitome of style back in the day.
Hermiones_Pepperonis@reddit
Vision Street Wear logo is timeless and perfect
Mysterions@reddit
It's a shame Vision has seemingly been erased from 80s skate nostalgia, I always thought their shoes were better than Vans in quality.
Miami_Vice_75@reddit
Yeah- my favorite shoes I ever owned were VSW! They had skulls all over in various colors with the VSW logo on the back outer side of the shoe! Loved those!
Hermiones_Pepperonis@reddit
I was in 5th(?) grade and always rocked the loudest shoes they had. Cow-print canvas hi-tops. Check. Mustard yellow suede hi-tops. Check. I see them on their site, but I don’t think I can pull them off these days.
Anonymo123@reddit
Indy trucks gave up their "iron cross" logo and some youtube\political guy bought it and started using it since it was "abandoned". https://shredder.news/tim-pool-acquires-old-indy-iron-cross-logo/
Miami_Vice_75@reddit
Cool board!
l0st1nP4r4d1ce@reddit
That's fucking sad. TP is a raging, likely russian funded, asshole.
Miami_Vice_75@reddit
Man these logos bring back memories!!!
drtythmbfarmer@reddit
I still have some of those shirts folded away in a drawer.
Aardvark-Amigo@reddit
Ozzy, Rip Curl, O’Neil, Rusty, Channel Island, Hawaiian Island Creation, Vans, Oakley just a few off the top
tequilavip@reddit
I had a G&S Neil Blender deck, Thunder trucks, and Vision wheels.
Also had Gator and Mark Gonzalez decks.
clamb9@reddit
I myself had the early Tony Hawk board with that logo, then my favorite was a Monty Nolder Schmitt Stix. Both of course with Ind trucks. I can't for the life of me remember my wheels though.
clamb9@reddit
Oh... that Bones logo rings a bell though
just_a_knowbody@reddit
Where’s the sex wax?
Samurai-Pooh-Bear@reddit
Mr. Zogs knows!
issafly@reddit
I had this Vision skulls beret. I wish I still had it. They go for $140 on eBay these days.
bfisher_ohio@reddit
I had a fanny pack from this vintage. I was coooool
JohnWorphin@reddit
I wore the black version of this vision, I have a red pair of “Tony says go to hell” cutoff sweatpants
phinz@reddit
Where's the OP?
Cuz_Ima_Doit@reddit
Still have my brown corduroy Velcro wallet.
Substantial_Diver_34@reddit
Oakley and Billabong
Cuz_Ima_Doit@reddit
Nice collection of the classics. Would love to see Venture trucks up there, but you do have Pushead!
issafly@reddit
And Alva!
Cuz_Ima_Doit@reddit
Oh yeah!!
Fermi_DOX75@reddit
For wetsuits I'm thinking of Body Glove and Aleeda
teleheaddawgfan@reddit
Rip Curl
phinz@reddit
Somewhere around here there's a picture of me with bleached blonde hair in a turquoise OP sleeveless shirt (complete with big picture of a deserted, palm tree-covered island), turquoise OP short shorts and red Vans Style 44s (No socks of course. You can't see my 8" long rat tail.) with my best friend, who is in a checkered painters cap with the long flaps on the back, checkered shirt of unknown origin, hot pink Maui & Sons Jams, Vuarnet sunglasses and blue Vans Style 38s. Total fashion plates. I think we were headed to Astroworld for the day.

Missing Ocean Pacific
Squishyswimmingpool@reddit
Am I overlooking Skull Skates?
stuhstutter@reddit
I wonder what ever happened to my Lance Mountain board. Had that artwork at the top.
I think I had Slime Balls wheels. Neon green and purple grip tape that I cut into polygons. What company made the plastic rails that screwed into the bottom of the board? Can't remember. Independent trucks of course. I had so many Jimmy Z stickers from buying their clothes. Vision Street Wear was so popular in my town, too. I think I had the blue high-tops.
No_Thanks_3336@reddit
It's all about the BBC Lol.
BillyDW1978@reddit
I remember a shirt I had in high school, it was the screaming Santa Cruz hand…it was so cool.
phinz@reddit
HoosegowFlask@reddit
Always reminded me of Moander from Forgotten Realms.
Erazzphoto@reddit
Billabong was always one of my favorite brands
hvacmac7@reddit
Billabong jackets were everything in 1980’s st Augustine
LaLaLaDooo@reddit
Anyone else remember how your skateboard interest cratered as soon as you got a car? I sold my board to a kid down the street. I kinda wish I still had it just for novelty. But not really. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Killertigger@reddit
Ok, that hit home, and hard - cars killed more skateboarders (metaphorically) than anything else. Having a car and the ability to do so many other things did kind of kill the interest in skateboarding for a lot of kids.
drsfmd@reddit
We used our cars to get to the halfpipes that were too far to skate to and weren't near the bus lines.
Juco_Dropout@reddit
Where’s the T+C Surf and Skate designs!?
ArthurBea@reddit
It’s not the Yin Yang symbol?
issafly@reddit
Yep, that's Town & Country.
Juco_Dropout@reddit
It very well could be.. the lettering isn’t exactly correct. But I think you’re wrong not something here.
_plays_in_traffic_@reddit
no gotcha?
jpotrz@reddit
Had that Grabke dream m deck
RuggedLandscaper@reddit

stenmark@reddit
Third column, second row

beaubafett78@reddit
FunConstruction7032@reddit
Trandoshan-Tickler@reddit
Omg thank you. My glasses weren't helping.
gemineye1969@reddit
No Yaga’s?
narvolicious@reddit
Yup, remember all of those very well, and earlier ‘80s stuff like Body Glove, Lightning Bolt, Op, etc.
I grew up in Deadchester, just south of Venice, so all these brands were around me 24/7, and Dogtown boys tore our local half pipes and launch ramps to shreds. Hosoi, Oster, Murray. Crazy asses who just went for it and dgaf. Those were the days.
ahutapoo@reddit
Zorlac - Skate Tough or Go Home
friendlyfire31@reddit
Gotcha and Rusty are missing too!
Kalena426@reddit
Flashback to 1982 and going to the Maui and Sons shop at the Maui Mall.
disco_duck2004@reddit
What, no Mark Gonzales or Rodney Mullen graphics?
disco_duck2004@reddit
Natas & SMA are missing too.
Future-Spare-9680@reddit
Asa kid in the 80’s in Oceanside my brother and I and our friends skated, biked and always going to the beach. The majority of these logos I remember and some look familiar. What a time!
Tokogogoloshe@reddit
Memories. Who remembers the song which had the lyrics "I hop onto my board skate, and take off like a bat."
daves-not-here-@reddit
I just had major flashbacks to my junior high years living in CA during the 80’s. Such amazing memories.
beermaker@reddit
Gordon & Smith... Billy Ruff. The finest deck I ever owned. Had a spoon in front that fit my front foot to a tee.
Mindless-Baker-7757@reddit
No Gator?
typhoidtimmy@reddit
Gator is literally to the left of Tony Hawk despite gen
stenmark@reddit
Gator's in jail
typhoidtimmy@reddit
Yep, Newsom has reversed his parole twice and he is still in the can.
Quite frankly, don’t blame Gav. Mark was a douchebag and should pay for what he did to that girl….and I was a fan of his as a kid.
Mindless-Baker-7757@reddit

Font_Snob@reddit
Zog's?

Fluid-Bet6223@reddit
Platts
Mango
EntertainerNo4509@reddit
No Lightning Bolt?
marshallkrich@reddit
There was a place in Morristown NJ called Pyscho Skates. It had everything skateboarding. I loved that place.
windog@reddit
A lot of that works for the ‘80s, too.
cossa68@reddit
My favorite is the bones with the crossbones. What a time it was to be alive as a teenage skater singing in a punk band in the mid-eighties.
Still_Praline_6598@reddit
Flashbacks to being 13. Vision Street Wear shoes, Jimmy'z shorts, Maui & Sons T shirt, and a Claus Grabke board with Indy trucks and Slime Balls.
NibblesMcGiblet@reddit
I have some of these on my rollerskate case that's next to the bed here. Bought some Bones Reds bearings for them a few years ago and got a sticker with them, still looks the same.
skbugco@reddit
Keeping tradition alive, I got my 20 y/o a new set up last Christmas:

Bad boy club looks like Randy from pee wee playhouse
Small-Effect-3333@reddit
I can still smell the skate shop.
grrgrrtigergrr@reddit
I always associated Vauranet with volleyball, not skating.
It was like the sandpit shirt of choice to go with your umbro shorts.
vistaculo@reddit
Vaurnet was a snow skiing brand for sure
skbugco@reddit
I saved a bunch of $$ one summer so I could roll some Cateye’s on the hill that winter. Hot Tub Time Machine style.
typhoidtimmy@reddit
I rolled that John Lucero Schmitt Stix version 1 and 2 at one time. His boards were a lot tougher on ramp, IMHO.
vistaculo@reddit
I don’t remember that Vato Rat Bones logo under the Slime Balls logo…
Separate-Succotash11@reddit
Wow. Flashing back to 8th grade for me. Hosoi. Powell Peralta. Vuarney. Memories….
phinz@reddit
I still have a pair of Hosoi Vans.
Separate-Succotash11@reddit
What a gem! Can’t believe you still have it in good condition.
MementoMoriPendejo@reddit
Hosoi, on G&S, rollin' Slime Balls.
phinz@reddit
I was an Alva Hosoi Fish on Venture rollin' Rat Bones.
