pci raid controller with ide disc drive

i got my hands on lenovo m58p thinkcentre 7220 (it’s not that vintage, but anyway) without disc drive. i already have ide disc drive which i want to use with this pc. however, motherboard does not have ide interface, only sata. i’ve seen pci cards with ide controller, will drive work with them or should i look for sata to ide adapter?
(not native speaker, so i’m sorry if worded badly)

Any reason to want to use ide, instead of sata? Sata should work fine for all your vintage computing needs. (including sata ssds)
