Cinemark IMAX on Webb Chapel Rd

I just got seats to Dune 3 for opening weekend and I grabbed the only ones I saw which were on the 2nd row on the very end. Is the picture below to scale and I will not be able to see very well? Or will it be alright?
Ruffles98@reddit
I would not get those tickets. I recommend going to a later showing. It'll be a waste to show up opening weekend and get 2nd row seats.

I tried looking for tickets for project Hail Mary and I can’t believe that location does 3:30 am movie times and majority of the seats were taken lol
JKinney79@reddit
Maybe the only one showing it in 70mm in North Texas?
timayws@reddit
I had heard they hired someone from out of state to help manage the reels when Oppenheimer was playing 24x7.
And yes, one of about a dozen 70mm Imax theaters in the country.
Honestly, going to the movies in the early morning is pretty dope. Walk out of the theater and get brunch.
Chance-Adept@reddit
Yeah he came down from Kansas City I believe. I took a day off to see Oppenheimer there at 10 am on a Wednesday. Worth it.
Chance-Adept@reddit
One of only thirteen total 70mm IMAX screens in the country.
LeSuperNut@reddit
If it’s the theatre I’m thinking of, they always put out those early showings that sell out immediately. They add a ton closer to the actual date and you’ll be able to get real seats.
Marcush214@reddit
Yeah I think they did the same thing for Spider-Man no way home and then ended having showing all the way until 4 am 😂😂😂😂
NewUser_Who_Dis@reddit
Bingo. There are going to be ~5 shows a day from 8 AM to 2:30 AM. Same deal with the Odyssey in the summer. They released Project Hail Mary tickets about six weeks ahead.
SamsTheMan91@reddit
Thank you
Enough-Exam-8381@reddit
Absolutely unwatchable 🤮
flapJ4cks@reddit
Cinemark's XD is a significantly better experience for the same size screen.. and there is probably one closer.
royalooozooo@reddit
What’s this guys deal
PM_ME_UR_PICS_PLS@reddit
Webb chapel is not liemax
Wake_Up_Mr_Freeman@reddit
This is untrue. The tickets that went on sale today are for IMAX 70mm, which is the 1:43 format.
flapJ4cks@reddit
flapJ4cks@reddit
from my other comment.
jovialfaction@reddit
It's the only real 70mm 1.43:1 screen in Texas
A movie like Dune Part 3 takes advantage of the taller screen and you have a lot more image than on an XD screen

The key surprise most people don't expect is that IMAX typical screens run about 52 ft tall by 72 ft wide, while XD screens measure around 70 ft tall by 133 ft wide... meaning XD is actually larger in both dimensions.
memriooo@reddit
Anything in the middle area Rows G-K is premium. I find the last row in the middle (Row K) to be ideal. My eyes aren’t stressing and can take in the whole picture.
ashdee2@reddit
Where did you even see these? I don't see any place to buy tickets for Dune
Marcush214@reddit
benman5745@reddit
100% refund those
SweetToothEra@reddit
K13 and K12. I want to sit at the very top in the middle
jimhatesyou@reddit
i saw oppenheimer at this theatre IMAX and it was sold out. packed and not good airflow. felt like the screen was shitty. it’s cool it’s film and all but i think i will prefer digital forever.
DayManFanatic@reddit
Don’t do it. I got back row seats 18/19 for an 11pm and that is right on the edge of what I would say is worth it. Hoping as it gets closer there will be better availability but wanted to lock it in.
mylinuxguy@reddit
E15/E16 are the best seats in my opinion. They are in the center and you get a rail in front of your seat to put your feet on. The people sitting 'in front' of you are about 5 feet below your seating area. I saw the Hail Mary Project from those seats and the view was great. 2nd row, off to the side will not be worth the $$$.
Putrid-Strawberry-79@reddit
Is Row G alright? Never been to this theater but was able to snag G tickets somewhat in the center.
kuppler@reddit
I saw Project Hail Mary in row F and I’m thinking row G would have been even better (felt a little too close watching the 70mm shots in the Dune 3 trailer)
Putrid-Strawberry-79@reddit
Thank you, that makes me feel better! I figured it'd be fine, but then started wondering if E would be a better seat and view.
Mnudge@reddit
Anything E-J and in the middle is perfectly fine.
I actually prefer G-H

Mnudge@reddit
That won’t be a good experience imo.
Riots42@reddit
Or you could wait for another week and go without a crowd.
Id rather go to a theater with a smaller screen for a 5.50 matinee showing thats empty than sit in a room so crammed together you have to sit next to strangers and the room smells like BO. Hell id rather watch a bootleg version on my phone than go to an opening weekend imax screening of anything. The last time I did that was Dark Knight Returns at the same exact theater it was sold out and a miserable experience.
Wake_Up_Mr_Freeman@reddit
I was only able to grab a seat in row C today. I’m personally going to hold onto it in case I can’t make it to a later showtime with better seats. Cinemark allows you to refund all the way up to showtime. I also think they will be handing out film strips for these 7pm showings.
OddS0cks@reddit
There’s going to be more showings than the 3 they have now. I’d wait and just get tickets to one of those
TCBloo@reddit
To be honest, I hated the IMAX theater when I went for Oppenheimer. The whole ceiling shakes and makes a huge racket the for the entire movie.
2/10 audio
GayDinosaur@reddit
I'm 3/3 for people having fully audible conversations in the regular theater and 0/3 in the IMAX. Cinemark sucks, IMAX rules.
Thanks_Buddy@reddit
Everyone in this thread is 100% correct. You're going to be watching a movie like you're wearing a VR headset half way hanging off your head. It won't be great
bepeacock@reddit
on our way out of the XD screen at Cinemark Plano I stopped at sat on the first row in the corner. I don’t know how they can get away with selling those seats for movies. it’s unwatchable by any stretch of the imagination.
Adventurous-Gur7524@reddit
Don’t. Wait for better seats. I Got last minute tickets for mission impossible final reckoning part 2 and it was not the best experience.
Gavin99w@reddit
Yeah, what others have said. You pretty much need to be in the "2nd deck" in order to get the full experience. Definitely recommend seeing it there though!
Ok_Brick_793@reddit
I sit in the last two rows in that auditorium.
mollyyfcooke@reddit
Don’t do it! Google Oppenheimer IMAX front row for a good look. 😂
edisonlbm@reddit
You'd honestly be better off watching it on digital imax somewhere else opening weekend and then coming back later to watch it in 70mm.
wjlee91@reddit
Sold out completely so don't think you can get better ones
Hahn_Solo@reddit
Return those tickets, first four rows are awful Find another showing or monitor close to the date of and you can usually find tickets that someone returned if you’re lucky enough
NuckyMunch@reddit
I was lucky enough to get row G on Saturday night, was only able to snag one. Lol.
jaloru95@reddit
Don’t do it! I saw Interstellar there at release and was too close and it ruined the entire experience
Krysidian2@reddit
2nd row seats are ass. The head rest forces you to look forward but the screen is upwards.
johnnydfree@reddit
I’d feel so cheated paying big IMAX bucks and having to choose any seat NOT in the middle half.
Celcius_87@reddit
Oof I would refund and wait until I could get better seats
havebourbon@reddit
Those seats going to suck hardcore
M4ttd43m0n@reddit
First four rows are unwatchable at that IMAX in my opinion.
badlyagingmillenial@reddit
Second row from the front is an awful seat. You won't be able to take in the whole screen easily, especially being at the end of a row.
You want to be in the second level of seats, at least row E, but F/G is my preference.
LonesomeWulf@reddit
I generally try to sit somewhere F - J and as close to the middle as possible. I personally would rather not go than sit where you indicated. But everyone is different.
Have you ever been to an imax show before and seen the seats in those spots you asked about? You can still see, but it is not as good of an experience because you are so close and off center, looking up and across the whole time.
Good luck.
Sosantula21@reddit
You’ll be alright. This is the only true IMAX in our area and the screen is absolutely massive. Enjoy!! I’m so jealous.
