This is for sporting. Clays, and Bird hunting. Those sports don't use optics.
Some of it's price is unnecessary and there just because it's pretty and because it is a premium product (the wood instead of plastics for furniture, gold engraving etc). Some other aspects of its price are machined instead of cast components and serious weight balancing and ergos.
I have used cheep sporting guns and they suck. Although you can get something functional as heck for $1500 or so. That said, this isn't 100% function. This is a heirloom that you would give to your kids some day.
This thing is a Mercedes, sure a Honda civic will get you there, but if you can afford the Merc, you buy the Merc.

The a400 multi target was what I was thinking about, but this is really nice.
Would the main difference be lack of adjustability on the comb Of the a400L and less lusso-y compared to the multi target.

Your multi target will have the raised rib, adjustable comb, weighted end cap. This will be a standard height rib, non adjustable comb, and grade 2.5+ class of wood. Definitely ticks the boxes in functionality, just more of a classic looker with the etching and wood.

Thank you for that. I like the adjustability of the multi to cover my bases to help figure out what I like and don’t like. But the attention to detail on the engraving!! I might save that if I could ever afford to get a dt11 of some sort.
