Today, Lufthansa made a recreation of it's first flight to Zurich and I was there. I'll tell you how the atmosphere was.

So, today Lufthansa came with D-ABOU to Zurich Airport, they departed from Berlin.
The atmosphere on the terrace at the airport was quite nice, but it was very warm. Everyone was hyped for D-ABOU. When the plane was in range of sight, everyone started looking at it.
Known people were there, too! For example the founder of Skynews, Hansjörg Bürgi, or the influencers Jason Philipp and Aircraft Elias.
I am open for questions.

LatterEstimate3027@reddit
Sorry I‘m too stupid what do you mean? Like flying from Frankfurt to Zurich? There is like every day such a flight. What exactly has been remade?
PizzaDog39@reddit
Berlin to zurich and Berlin to Cologne were the first ever flights by Lufthansa airplanes and those routes have been flown today by an a350 and 787 with the 100 year livery

Was this why the Patrouille Suisse was going around yday?
shadeyyyy_@reddit (OP)

Literally just flew back into FRA on this plane from HKG this morning, landed at about 06:40. Was very fresh inside, probably the newest aircraft I've flown in at only 0.3 years old.
shadeyyyy_@reddit (OP)
Nice! How was the flight?
Known_Ad_5388@reddit
Quite nice, I got downgraded from business to premium eco but it being so new and fresh helped with that I suppose, can't win em all aye.

How does one book a special flight like this ? Is it open to everyone or only people who know people type of event ? I wish I could have
MisterJSP@reddit
Both BER-CGN (A359 D-AIXL) and BER-ZRH (B789 D-ABPU) were bookable by anyone from about a month or two ahead of the flights with prices somewhere between 350-450€. You had to use a special site to book them which was possible to get to by an email newsletter or through a news article on the LH website.
Rayray_A3xx@reddit
Yeah I got an email to book, it was around 400 in economy and C was already sold out when i opened the link 5 minutes later.
Siamkater@reddit
The flight from Berlin to Zürich was open for booking, albeit with a limited amount of seats and quite steep prices
shadeyyyy_@reddit (OP)
It was for lufthansa staff, they handpicked them. They had CEOs, influencers, and some other lufthansa workers on it. And the oldest pilots in their fleet.

Here is a shitty phone pic from the approach: https://i.imgur.com/qoltb8X.jpeg

EvMund@reddit
It is indeed!
carrickshairline@reddit
I doubt 99% of people at Zurich cared.
Banfy_B@reddit
99% of the people also aren't on an aviation forum.
EvMund@reddit
a cursory application of reading comprehension would tell you that OP said that everyone "on the terrace at the airport" was hyped
