Desk booking software & hardware

Hi all,
I am looking to see how you all handle hybrid work with booking desks. Currently we are using Logitech Flex Docks with LogiTune to book the desks. These have been great as it allows the user to book the desk from their pc\phone, and the dock shows who has it booked or if it is available. We just found out, that product line is going end of life with no replacement in the works, which leaves us looking for a new solution.
We need software that is easy to use and desks can be booked from pc\mac as well from IOS devices. The kicker is we need something on the desks that if you are walking in the office you can walk by and see if it is booked or not without needing to open your pc and check. We would also like the ability to hot book the desk if you walk up to it and its free, you can book it right from the desk itself. The LogiTech solution did this perfectly, and we are looking for a new solution now, and wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations.

Joan here - obviously we have a stake in this, but your requirements are almost a word-for-word description of what we built our desk booking solution around, so worth a mention.
Booking from PC, Mac, and iOS - covered. For the physical desk indicator, we support a few options depending on what fits your setup: dedicated desk displays that show live availability, QR code/NFC stickers on the desk surface so someone walking past can scan and book on the spot, or the Zens wireless charger which doubles as an occupancy sensor.
Happy to answer any specific questions about how the setup works or how migration typically looks. getjoan.com/desk-booking-solution if you want to start there.

We use Conferfly for room booking and conference rooms, not desk booking, if that helps!

Robin and Skedda both handle the software side well across PC, Mac, and iOS, and pair with desk sensors or e-ink displays from vendors like Evoko or Joan that give you the walk-up visibility and hot-booking functionality you're looking for.

Use team-today.com to book desks and see other people’s whereabouts which is typically more useful

Can you reference the Flexdock EOS notice?
We use them with Zoom for hybrid desk scheduling.

We were told from our CDW rep that they are EOL. Even had a call with CDW`s LogiTech guy that confirmed it as well.

i'd suggest checking https://signinapp.com/
but im not sure it does the on desk check, but its something you could discuss with them. the have a phone app what doesnt need to be enrolled to work.

Do you need something physical like a light or a tablet on every desk to indicate its booked?
I have used office space in the past, and once we had the layout with desks uploaded, we builtout dashboards using the maps that show which desks are and are not booked, then mounted a TV at the entrance or near the entrance of the work area to display those dashboards.

We use Robin, it's not perfect but it's pretty good.

Teams and Places, especially now with the license change on Places. No additional hardware needed, notification about existing bookings is handled via Teams/Outlook.
The Flex Dock (or any Teams Panel) can be used to supplement this if needed.

Correct, yea CDW told us a few weeks ago there were a total of 1,000 Flex Dock units left then they were done with manufacturing. We found out becuase we were about to purchase an additional 100 then got blindsided finding out they were going away.
The official reason was, " Due to a manufacturing issue, that would cause the price of each device to more than double, they were killing the product line".
