[Parts] TX22 FRT - $20 - free shipping
Posted by muffinman1604@reddit | gundeals | View on Reddit | 64 comments
The main linked TX22 FRT is the ODD MFG designed FRT. this is by far the best TX22 FRT that I've used because it wears the striker insert the least out of any design.
For those that want a discounted TY22 style, discounted because there's a chance you'll need to file/sand off a bump of laser cutting slag that tumbling didn't remove. [Oops](https://muffintoptactical.com/tx22-frt-oops) available for $11. Also free shipping.
If you need a replacement TX22 striker insert, I have some nylon (MJF PA11) ones available [here](https://muffintoptactical.com/tx-22-striker-insert-replacement.html)
And finally, unrelated to the TX22, but if you want an AR15 cassette style FRT, the [Partisan Disruptor](https://muffintoptactical.com/disruptor-ar15-frt.html) is available for $275 with free shipping - in stock and ready to ship.

Any advice on how to get these things to run with a suppressor on the Toro model? Works well with heavier ammo unsuppressed, but has many issues with the suppressor.
muffinman1604@reddit (OP)
Toro gen 2? You can start by adding an optic, the heavier the better.
Also experiment with different ammo.
Or TUFRR on the site is an adjustable weight rate reducer. It'll fit the toro and can go up to 2 oz.
Johnny_Cache2@reddit
Are there certain brands of ammo you've had success with?
muffinman1604@reddit (OP)
Round nose high velocity stuff. I've been pretty lucky and most ammo has worked, but I know that's not the case for everyone.

Dont have a TX22 yet but fuck it, in for one.
Kuchufli@reddit
My nephew has one and we put one of these in this weekend (from a previous sale) ... be ready to spend ammo. Ran it suppressed and we were using up magazines as fast as we could fill them. Very fun .
tt-_-t@reddit
TX-22 is a great gun but their OEM mags are complete dogshit. For some reason, promags are the only thing reliable for mine which makes ZERO sense. 4/4 OEM magazines have the rounds nosedive/not spring up and I get failure to feed/stovepipes nearly every other round.
Before you ask: - polished my feed ramp - polished slide rails - contoured mag lip - sanded the back end of mags so the casing doesn't get stuck - sanded/removed burrs inside of mags - cleaned the living shit out of mags (multiple times) - applied dry lube - used multiple ammo manufacturers (including CCI minimags, which are the worst because of all the wax on the tips). - load my mags EXTREMELY carefully, by hand, every time now.
What a load of shit that this company can't make consistent mags, to the point that it tells YOU to troubleshoot it.
muffinman1604@reddit (OP)
I've had similar experience. Promags have been much better for me. I use the 17rd ones specifically.
I sell extensions for the TX22 that my friend makes. Every promag has fit every time. But not all of the Taurus mags line up. After some investigating, it turns out the opening on the bottom of the Taurus mag after you remove the baseplate varies between mags (maybe lot variation?) and it is a pain to deal with.
tt-_-t@reddit
Do you have a link to the extensions?
Curious how many rounds it adds, cost, and if you've run an frt with it as well.
OddPatient4260@reddit
Odd that I had just the complete opposite experience with the mags this past weekend. I had gotten the 21 round Promags and thought they were going to be good for FRT use. Up until now, I hadn't tried to run through a complete mag in fast mode due mainly to my limited range options. I got my TX22 early enough that it only came with one 16 and a 22 round mag and both had been fine in normal semi mode and 2-3 round suppressed brrrts. Recently I got the Promag 21 rounders for a good deal just in time to go to a range that allowed rapid fire. Long story short, both the factory 16 and 22 round mags ran fine fully loaded multiple times with CCI standards, but wouldn't through get more than 3-4 rounds with the Promag. Each time, a round would end up sandwiched between the slide and barrel pointing up. I'm guessing the spring might not be strong enough to keep up or there's a problem with the profile of the follower causing the misfeeds at brrrrt speeds. It does seem to work fine on semi on my other normal TX22 compact.
tt-_-t@reddit
It's odd that I had my experience tbh, most people don't have any trouble with the OEM mags. I also realized that my one 16rd OEM that used to work doesn't anymore (same stovepipe/bent casing issues). Wondering if the TK compensator I put on could be the culprit and the other mags just needed to get broken in. I'll be heading to the range to test it, though not really gonna be happy if I can't use my comp since my frt comes later this week and I think it would be a sick combo - if I can get it to work.

I bought one of these for my tx22 a few months ago and it didnt fit at all. Kinda disappointed
muffinman1604@reddit (OP)
You got it from me? Reply to your order confirmation email, or use the contact page on the site and send your order number and a description of your issue for some troubleshooting help.
1dollaroff@reddit
Do these need additional contouring or something? Mine just has a dead trigger after every round fired
OddPatient4260@reddit
I don't have this one, but tried one with a similar profile as the image and ran into similar issues. It was intermittent and often would load the next round, but trigger didn't seem to reset though the casing sometimes showed a light strike. Manual slide testing seemed to reset and fire as expected, so I'm thinking there might be a slight timing issue with firing before going into battery. So far, the plastic ones have been more reliable for mine, except the first one finally wore out.
muffinman1604@reddit (OP)
There is an older design, that may or may not even be on the sea still, that has a somewhat similar looking profile to this. But the one does in fact need need to have to be filed in order for it to work in most guns.
I have seen a couple people with unspecified FRTs (likely TY22 copies) bend their trigger bar slightly so that the FRT gets pushed just a little more to help with the reset. I believe it is the 90 degree tip to 100-110, so just slightly.
OddPatient4260@reddit
Thanks for the tip. I had wondered if it might not have been pushing the trigger back far enough or consistently enough, but hadn't considered modding the trigger bar. I might give it a try after the current plastic one wears out and needs replacement.
muffinman1604@reddit (OP)
Did you get one from me? If so, no additional contouring needed, doing so could cause issues.
Send over an email with some additional details. Or just message me here.
1dollaroff@reddit
It’s not from you, I just happen to have one that doesn’t work and didn’t know if there was a common solution
tt-_-t@reddit
I have had this gun since August and 4/4 OEM mags have bullshit feed issues. I posted everything above of what I did. Promags (tho I only have a few hundred through them) seem to be the answer for me.
Their QC is inconsistent, so it's complete luck of the draw, which makes it even more frustrating.
anonywingbat@reddit
Do you have a TX22 trigger option that can switch between semi and frt?
muffinman1604@reddit (OP)
My advice is to just buy a second TX22
nohowayjose@reddit
Don't take this advice he's trying to trick you into buying more frts because you'll buy another tx22 then you think you know what would be cool dual welding two tx22s with frts then before you know it you bought another set for your feet and you're quad welding tx22s with frts! Trust me I know.
Screaminpirate@reddit
I assume this will fit the Gen 2 TORO model? Either way I bought one. Can't beat $20.
muffinman1604@reddit (OP)
Yes it does. The FRTs don't really care about the model. The only thing is the TX22 competition will need extra weight added to the slide with a weighted backplate
Kuchufli@reddit
This is true! We ran into this problem suppressed, put a large Riton 3 Tactix EED red dot on it and it seems to have fixed the problem.
cthompson07@reddit
Finally shot my 3d printed frt yesterday and it broke after two mags, glad I saw this yesterday. Placed an order, thanks!

Anyone have experience with the partisan disruptor? Was thinking of an arc fire to be able to use my G$ triggers
muffinman1604@reddit (OP)
I like how easy it is to install. You also don't need to worry about getting the rest of the trigger separately. But it is not as nice of a trigger pull when compared to the ARC with a Geissele.
I'm a small sample size, but both have performed well for me.
