From a functional standpoint, what's the difference between the MK23 and USP tactical?
I thought I heard back in the day that some operators would use the USP tactical in place of the MK23 for weight savings.

The Mark is just essentially a beefed up USP Tac with worse ergonomics. The Mark does have a better trigger and is considered more 'durable' which shouldn't matter since both guns are insanely durable. Everything else favors the USP Tac IMO - ergos, shootability, etc.

I like HK. I have a VP9SK.
I also love .45 acp and have a Glock 21sf, an Sig p220, an S&W M&P gen 1, and a Beretta CX4 storm in the caliber.
Is this particular gun worth the coin? even at this price it sure ain’t cheap.

IMO it isn't worth it. I've had this and an HK USP Expert .45. The Mark 23 is cooler and has literal legendary durability, but that's about all it really has going for it. The gun is really annoying to shoot since the massive slide creates a really annoying recoil impulse. The Expert shot way smoother and flatter, and also has better ergonomics. Accuracy is equal between the two.

You buy a Mk.23 for the vibe because it will outlast you, your children, and their children. Not really much else. These are colossal. There are far more practical full size, hammer fired .45s out there, but man are the vibes on point.

People have to realize when they order from X vendor and they use Y shipping company they are not a customer of Y and cannot make any insurance claims therefore, X vendor is responsible for refunding them.

I’ve had $900 items marked as delivered that never showed up. Every single time a chargeback was accepted and super easy. Burden of proof of delivery is on the seller.

Absolutely. I got scammed once using GAFS - 100% my fault; I basically gave my money away like a dumbass - and was able to do a chargeback and get every cent back.

It actually was a F&F transaction.
Paypal basically told me I was out of luck, but my Paypal is paid through my credit card. Did a chargeback on my card, got my money, and Paypal didn't complain (though I have heard that they sometimes close accounts over this, so YMMV, I guess.)

These are cool guns but they have an extremely annoying recoil impulse because of the giant slide. I say this as someone who loves big bores and has owned Desert Eagles, S&W 500, and a S&W 460. The recoil isn't heavy or anything like those are, but the heavy ass slide gives it a really jumpy impulse that I just don't like especially on something as soft as a .45.
I had a USP Expert in .45 that I loved to shoot and I sold it eventually to get a Mark 23. Hated the way the Mark shot so I sold it. The Expert shot way flatter and was generally more comfortable to shoot. Unless you really want a Mark 23 I'd get a fancier USP variant (Tactical, Expert, Elite) instead.
