Lectric XP 3.0 to ride with kids

Looking to get my first e-bike. It is more as a recreational thing - can’t commute to work and just want to ride with my kids who are getting older (6 & 4). So I’m not looking to spend for the top tier.
I’ve done research on everything around $1k and recently been looking at the XP 3 because it has an accessory where you can put a seat, handlebar and pegs to have a rider sit on back. I’m curious if anyone here has this set up and also younger kids and how you’ve liked it and also safety for your kids considering there is nothing holding them in spot?

I just got the XP 3.0 for Mother's day and I love it! I had been deciding between Lectric, RAD and a few others that had a wagon style where I could possibly take both kids with me (2.5 and 5.5), but my oldest actually just got his own little ebike at the Electrify Expo, so when I only needed to accommodate one rider and I can't fully replace a car with it (it's a lot of bike for just cruising around and taking camping with us), I chose the Xp 3.0. It's a blast to ride and we now ride as a family every night on our ebikes, we ride to restaurants close by, I ride it over to BBQs and pool days at friend's houses instead of driving, etc.
Since I don't have to worry about my 5 year old, I just got the Thule child seat they recommended on their website for my 2 year old and she fits great with room to spare. I'll upgrade to the seat and handlebars probably in the next year or so when she can be trusted to hold on.

What bike did you for your 5 year old? I have been looking and am curious how it has been working out.

It was a Greenger saddleback. It worked great for a year or two until he out grew it!
