Hey guys,

I kept getting annoyed trying to figure out if wider summer tires would rub, so I coded a simple dark-mode tire size visualizer for myself.

It just compares two sizes side-by-side and shows the exact differences in diameter, width, and sidewall. No pop-up ads or anything, just thought it could be a handy tool for the community when shopping for new wheel setups.

How can you possibly claim

"exact differences in diameter, width, and sidewall." Without also including the brand and model in the comparison tool and having a massive database of factual measurements like tire rack has?

Through years of racing, I can tell you with absolute fact that a 285 from one brand to another is far from exactly the same... And as such the sidewalk and overall height vary a bit.

It's not going to tell you if wider tires are going to rub or not.

Hey, thanks for the feedback! You are 100% right. Coming from a racing background, you know better than anyone that a Michelin 285 runs totally different than a Toyo or Hoosier 285 in the real world.

I should definitely change my wording from 'exact' to 'theoretical / mathematical baseline'. The tool just calculates the industry-standard sizing formulas to give people a quick starting point before they dig into the actual spec sheets on Tire Rack for a specific brand's true physical dimensions.

You made a great point about the rubbing and shoulder profiles too. I’m going to add a disclaimer to the tool right now mentioning that real-world brand specs vary and people should always verify actual measurements. Really appreciate the reality check, man.
