What is considered a 'romantic dinner/meal, in the Balkans?

I have recently been inspired to do this (for good reason) and I'm curious.

Maybe it's just me but I don't find food romantic exactly? I think it's more about the setting/presentation personally.

Anyway, what would you make for someone if you were trying to prepare a romantic dinner?

Pretty much any Istrian or Dalmatian dish, they are very classy and sophisticated cuisines.

Agree. It's one of my favourite regional cuisines. I've never tried to prepare it myself though.

Id recommend pljukanci sa tartufima or just pljukanci in general. It is my favourite pasta variety and is relatively simple to make.

I think a lot of the Dalmatian seafood dishes are rather difficult to make so I don’t think it’s worth experimenting with on a date. Id probably recommend buzara or hobotnica pod pekom tho.

Rožata is also typical for Dalmatia! Or a Panna Cotta. But honestly can’t beat palačinke with ice cream if you wanna keep it simple

I think a tipical Istrian dish would be fuži, and you can make it extra special by adding a truffle sauce. I believe you can buy these in a set in the stores. Kinda pricy but very classy imo, and super easy to make!

Yeah, you can get a tartufata & make a creamy white sauce with Parmesan. Definitely can be a great thing with pljukanici (love them too!)
