How was it?
anamexis@reddit (OP)
Pretty nice! Quiet and comfortable ride. The cabin was maybe a bit rough around the edges, but decently roomy.
quesoandcats@reddit
What does “rough around the edges” mean in this case? I’m very curious, and hope to fly on one myself someday!
anamexis@reddit (OP)
Just a few minor things around fit and finish - literal rough edges on some of the trim panels, the air nozzles felt a bit cheap, mismatched lighting colors, that kind of thing.
mromen10@reddit
I was on a 737 with mismatched lighting colors last week, it could be just that aircraft you were on
anamexis@reddit (OP)
Certainly could be, but this is a 4 month old aircraft.
quesoandcats@reddit
Ahh yea that makes sense! I’m sure that’ll get ironed out as production continues
WhereUGo_ThereUAre@reddit
Are you still alive?
Awesome_coder1203@reddit
Your brain cells clearly aren’t. All that western propaganda must be getting to your head.
C4-621-Raven@reddit
It may be a Chinese made airframe, but systems-wise it’s overwhelmingly made in the USA.
Awesome_coder1203@reddit
Yes I’m aware. However, its final assembly is in China, which is apparently where the quality suspicion comes from. Funny that people simultaneously say that it’s basically an A320 and that it’s bad quality because it’s Chinese.
uae08@reddit
high quality chinese built
oxymoron

No, they're posying this from Valhalla
longlife55@reddit
What did they say?
Winter-Economy-9919@reddit
Asking if OP died, a crappy joke about stereotypical Chinese build quality
longlife55@reddit
Ohhh
RDUKE7777777@reddit
Chill, he wasn’t on a 737 Max

Outrageous-Score7936@reddit
Is there anything in the cabin thats different from what you would find in a Western made aircraft?
anamexis@reddit (OP)
No, nothing that I noticed. China Eastern cabins are a bit spartan, but that's true on the rest of their fleet, too.
Outrageous-Score7936@reddit
Ok, on the il-96 the vents for the passengers come out from the seat in front of them instead of on top. Was wondering if there was anything like that.
Any_Sale2030@reddit
The DC8 also had vents from the seat in front.
AssistantUnique1858@reddit
Nice!
IEng@reddit
They didn't consider closing the bins in their design. Nothing protruding and they go all the way up.
