Who can remove my cats?

I have a 2015 suburban ltz 5.3, I took it to a shop and the guy agreed to remove my muffler, resonator, and 3rd cat at the y pipe but not the 2 primary’s. Anyone who has proof of experience and willing to remove my 2 primary’s, has the right size pipe on hand, re-insert the o2 sensors, and replace with proper pipe size and welds can keep both cats and I’ll throw an extra $100 on top of it. Ik what a good weld looks like I’m 18 and a union apprentice pipe fitter. I’m not doing it myself really because I don’t have a welder and I’ve never taken off an exhaust before. Ik that tuning is highly recommended but as long as it idles properly I like the burble pops I got so far by removing what I have and I would love it to be louder. If your one of those car guys who hates burble that’s fine some of us hate different things but we all love cars so no need to be negative.

Why are you so set on removing your cats
No shop will do it.

Ik a shop won’t that’s why I’m here. I have an L86 intake manifold and lt5 95mm throttle body and an s&b intake. I want a complete unrestricted exhaust for a little more power and I wanna get a burble tune with flame kit. I can’t do that with these gay ass cats.

You are driving a tank with one of rhe smallest v8s installed. Do you really think the half dozen hp you are to unleash by polluting the air more is going to make a difference? I doubt you even feel a thing.

“Polluting the air” u sound like a democrat. It’s not just power it’s mainly sound, burble pops, and when I can remove them I’ll get a flame kit.
ProJoe@reddit
And you sound like an idiot.
Best of luck in life buddy. Youre gonna need it.

Your car. Enjoy staring at the bright CEL on the dash.

A shop will do it you just have to find the right one through word of mouth. No one’s gonna advertise deleting emission devices. The other option is to buy an exhaust without cats. and you have to tune, it’s not optional if you care about your car.

Cats are not a restriction.

So to be clear… you are offering $100 and in exchange you want an experienced welder to break the law, provide labor/ equipment /quality materials, and dispose of the waste? The issue here isn’t that a shop won’t do it. It’s that they aren’t going to do it for you
Diligent-Savings9806@reddit (OP)
Yessir, they will get a few hundred from the cats also dipshit but thankfully I have found my man to do it

Honestly won't make a damn bit of difference horsepower wise, IMO get some cats off a higher power GM V8 maybe a Vette or Caddy. Better yet buy an upgraded y-pipe and start building exhaust system. A custom exhaust ought to able to do it for tou

It’s not just power, the next car I buy will be for power. I just want it loud as fuck, and a flame kit. It sounds pretty good now and I got some tips to complement it but again I need the cats gone for a flame kit and burble tune

All that's going to happen when you remove all the cats is you will pull your intake charge into your exhaust. Unless you are going to race cam it keep the cats. You obviously are very young and foolish as I once was. I ended up reinstalling catalytic converters for more power with stock cam

Doesn't all of Illinois have emissions testing? Cat delete is an instant fail.
Diligent-Savings9806@reddit (OP)
No, just Chicago and east St. Louis area every 2 years
NightKnown405@reddit
Legally nobody.
Diligent-Savings9806@reddit (OP)
Well ik that that’s why the shop won’t do it. I would be open to someone just gutting them and I’ll pay $200 open to negotiation dm me if interested
NightKnown405@reddit
Not a chance. I fix cars, not hack them.
Diligent-Savings9806@reddit (OP)
Damn, alright man. If I was to buy long tube headers, would you install those with no high flow cats?
NightKnown405@reddit
Nope. Would you pay the $20,000+ fine a technician could earn for doing it if they get caught?
