Looking for restaurant + bar reccs after civil ceremony
Posted by velvetstring@reddit | Dallas | View on Reddit | 15 comments
Hey ya’ll. Fiancé and I are doing our civil ceremony Tuesday at 2:30. Going to take some photos in east Dallas area after. Have about 10 people coming and wanted some suggestions on restaurants we can grab some food and drinks afterwards. Not wanting anything outlandishly expensive— can be in any part of Dallas. Thank you !!

Lounge Here on the East side of WRL would be perfect for you and your partner to go together before or after being with others for food or a drink. Much more intimate and dark, with a far West TX / Marfa vibe. I've actually seen a couple in full wedding garb grab a drink before heading to their wedding.
Best of luck on y'all's big day!

This is the correct answer. You will be treated like royalty and the food, drinks are amazing!

Are you going to JP 3-1? Because you should!

Originally we were planing on it but the JP cancelled due to a last minute conference :(

Smoky Rose, weather permitting. Tons of outdoor space, bar, decent food.., and right across from arboretum should you want to do pics there.

I second this. Smoky Rose is awesome if the weather permits, their patio is cute. Arboretum is awesome for photos but you’ll be paying per adult for entry. If that’s a deterrent, can also do pics for free at White Rock Lake as a second option. Other food and drinks nearby: Far Out and Birdie’s Eastside (both have a cute patio, though Far Out may be better for pics), Leela’s Wine Bar, Garden Cafe, El Veccino, Olivella’s (Mockingbird location, near Dream Cafe). Congrats!!

Birdies patio is lovely. Smoky Rose is overpriced and overhyped.

Not sure what the cost is, but we had drinks in the treehouse at the Truck Yard after a wedding. The happy couple reserved it and invited their guests to join them up there. It was a whimsical venue.

Rise is Dallas or Plano would be good- soufflé restaurant with romantic vibes a really cute interior. Not super expensive, but not cheap either
Selda’s turkish restaurant is pretty affordable and upscale. The food is incredible and would be a fun place to eat with a group
If you want very affordable I would probably do Mexican- Las Palmas, Gloria’s, La Hacienda (delicious but ranch themed, don’t know if that’s the vibe), or Meso Maya.

La Calle Doce on Skillman would also be a solid choice - affordable but a little more celebratory- feeling though low-key?
Accomplished-Bug4327@reddit
Agreed! la Calle Doce is delicious and has a celebratory vibe

Deep Ellum Distillery has really good food and the space photographs beautifully if you want to keep shooting after dinner.
