I don't know if this was like, a national or regional thing, but these were everywhere when I was 8, and if you didn't have the personal sized Baby Burple at school you were not one of the cool kids.
Same (also in the NE US). I didn't see/ hear about them in Ohio either. My Connecticut and Pennsylvania cousins never mentioned it, nor did my cousins in Hawaii.
Embarrassing memory unlocked. We bought one of these but could not for the life of us get it to expand. My dad was even trying with all his strength, and it wouldn't budge.
Holy shit. Wow. Completely forgot about Burple! Yeah I remember those commercials. Don’t think we ever bought it more than a couple times. The Tupperware koolaid container was the work horse back then.
