How many pics in your gallery are there because you needed to be able to zoom in to read the small print?

I just deleted a bunch. Probably have more saved to backups that will live forever.
Empty_Nestor@reddit
Too many.
Three4Anonimity@reddit
Yes.
justdisa@reddit
It was like that for a while, but I gave up and turned my phone's accessibility features on. Now I triple click to activate the magnifier.
tampacraig@reddit
Oh, this hurt…
AussieGirl27@reddit
Pffft, none obviously.
I delete them
ScreenTricky4257@reddit
I'm an IT professional who has to do inventory and take down serial numbers. The answer is a buttload.
needsunshine@reddit
You really are my people.
TheRealRaceMiller@reddit
There is a good joke in there about finding your junk but I will leave it alone.
OldManThumbs@reddit
None, why would I save that?
therelybare5@reddit
Almost all of them, I’m sad to say!
tunaman808@reddit
I do IT. I sometimes take photos of service tags\serial numbers. I don't have a problem actually reading them, I just don't want to have to flip a laptop over while I'm using it, or crawl behind a server multiple times.
Sir_PressedMemories@reddit
I spent a day taking photos of all of my equipment, tags, labels, and a front-on shot of the item.
I then went into Paperless NGX and began cataloguing all of my equipment, imported my receipts, and tagged everything.
Now I have a complete inventory of the entirety of my equipment.
I did the same for all household items, including grabbing the digital versions of the user manuals if they existed, as much info as I could about each item.
I did the same for all the furniture, and then after laundry day and I had all the clothes nicely put away, I took pictures of the drawers and closets with the majority of our clothes and described the gist of what was in there.
I did the same in the basemet and the garage.
When I was done, I exported everything to a nice spreadsheet with separate sheets for each location, then separated out my type and then populated everything with item, description, info on make/model/etc., and the cost if known or approximate cost to replace.
It took me roughly a week of 2 to 3 hour sessions before it was all done, and now I have a complete inventory of the entirety of my home.
I use it to find shit when I forget where it was put, that works maybe 60% of the time but the real usage is to calm my anxiety over a natural disaster, house fire, etc. that could happen where we lose everything.
Since my entire system is backed up to the cloud in multiple places, I won't lose that data, and if there is a catastrophic accident, I do not have to sift through the ashes while trying to comfort and take care of my kids.
I can just hand the insurance agent my detailed list, tell them I want everything in like kind and quality, and to cut me a check for it.
It has honestly made it so much easier to sleep. I now have all of that cataloged, and a single shit-hits-the-fan grab-and-go bag for each of us near the door. We could wake up naked, grab the bags, and be good to go within 5 minutes of getting the bags, no matter the weather.
Confirmationbias10@reddit
Ok, so I though I had a touch of the OCD gene but reading this makes me feel a lot better about my situation.
Sir_PressedMemories@reddit
I do not deny it may be a bit of overkill, but it is the difference between my insurance giving me 1000 to replace clothing for 3 people, or 15k to actually replace it with like kind and quality without having to spend an already incredibly traumatizing time dealing with insurance agents whose entire job is to pay out as little as humanly possible for everything.
For instance, one of my older cameras, at the time I purchased it was a top of the line Canon with a magnesium body, weather sealing, high fps (for the time), etc.
The current cost of that camera body is about 150 bucks. But you cannot find them anymore, and the equivalent kind and quality of camera today has a retail cost of 1500.
So that's a 10X increase in the reimbursement check for just that item alone.
I have spent a lifetime gathering esoteric devices that are incredibly high quality and for which current market equivalents are outrageously expensive. As such, I want to ensure every possible chance of getting a good replacement.
I did this after reading this post a decade back. https://np.reddit.com/r/personalfinance/comments/43iyip/our_family_of_5_lost_everything_in_a_fire/cziljy3/
Mugwumps_has_spoken@reddit
I don't actually take the picture most of the time. I just use the zoom of the camera to read what I need to read.
Did you not know you could do that?
AnonomissX@reddit
Yes I know that. But when and where I will need that information-may not be at the same time.
turnerevelyn@reddit
More than I care to admit.
Award176@reddit
My husband and I were staying at an air BNB that had a gate with a padlock on it. I went for a run and locked up after myself, came back dying of thirst, hot sweaty, only to find I couldn't read the numbers on the dial. They were etched in to the silver metal that was reflecting the sun directly into my face 🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh my God I was dying, taking a photo with my phone wasn't helping me. I ended up waiting at a lovely bakery for my husband to get back.
MundaneHuckleberry58@reddit
I go thrifting with my daughter. The entire crowd is GenX + youngsters. Idk about anyone else but I can’t read a damn tag to save my life. I need QR codes on each case so I can zoom in on prices / fonts on my phone.
Award176@reddit
Brilliant. Thank you.
lopix@reddit
None. I delete them so you can't prove nuthin.
Cold_in_Lifes_Throes@reddit
How dare you hack into my phone! 🤣😂🤣

None, I delete them after I’ve zoomed in.
Confirmationbias10@reddit
I usually never even snap the pic, just use my phone as a magnifying glass that doesn't burn ants.
lantech@reddit
shut up
GoblinGeorge@reddit
Husband and I were playing a card game last night, and we disagreed about text on a card. He took a zoomed-in picture and texted it to me.
Outrageous_Plum5348@reddit
I still have perfect reading vision. It's the other direction.....
Thumper13@reddit
Yeah, a few more than there were a couple years ago (which was zero.)
Usually though it's for something I'll need to reference later, not just read for a moment.
hillside@reddit
Shopping for oil filters yesterday, stupid codes were so small and I forgot my glasses so I was bringing the boxes right up to eyes. If security was watching they musta thought I was smelling them.
norm-m@reddit
I delete those almost immediately. I do however have a few of parking lot signs so that I can find my car later.
HesSoZazzy@reddit
I can never find my goddamned car anymore...
No-Algae-8798@reddit
How else am I supposed to see the size of my tires?
sudotrin@reddit
If I didn't delete them it would be like 60% of my pics - the rest are of my pets.
User47B@reddit
A lot! LOL!
Lopsided_Tomatillo27@reddit
Not as many as I used to. Now I use my phone’s magnifier. Triple clicking the side button launches it on my phone.
I also have the zoom function set to launch with a three finger double tap.

I work in IT. Serial numbers on laptops tend to be printed in letters about 0.5mm tall. Other devices are in the 1-1.5mm range. I do keep my gallery trimmed but the phone camera gets used for fine print at least twice a week!
aogamerdude@reddit
none actually, but I'll take an occasional random picture like this one, which has me curious which one of us it might be that decided to have fun in success
_WillCAD_@reddit
None. I don't take pics for that. I just read shit live on screen.
Traditional_Fan_2655@reddit
Um.
None! Absolutely none. And it has nothing to do with the delete feature. None, none at all.
RupeThereItIs@reddit
None, that's why I have progressive lenses now.
SweaterSteve1966@reddit
Woah woah woah. Thats personal…and 1,809. The print is really small at Home Depot.
Duran518@reddit
Man this one cut deep!
HappyBoxofKittens@reddit
How many pictures are there of where you parked your car so you don’t get lost in the parking lot?
drew_almighty21@reddit (OP)
Lol, also true
worstpartyever@reddit
Menus in dark restaurants
ItsmeMr_E@reddit
None because I can't read the fine print, however I always take a picture of my work schedule each week when it's posted, just in case a manager trys to change it without involving me and then trys to convince me I'm supposed to be at work even though the schedule clearly said I was off.
worstpartyever@reddit
CYA however you can!!
DrShankensteinMD@reddit
Aaaaa lot.
kerobrat@reddit
I sometimes use my phone camera to zoom in on the small text while playing on my PlayStation Portal. It's a special kind of humbling
DelvianSeek@reddit
More than I'd care to admit.
TwistedMemories@reddit
None because I don’t have to do that. I can read small print just fine.
Corvettelov@reddit
None cause I delete those.

I’m sure Android has a similar thing, but the magnifier feature on the iPhone is one of my favorite things on a smartphone ever developed
SciFiJim@reddit
Google Play Store has a bunch of them.
teamdogemama@reddit
I have an app that magnifies the image AND turns on the phone light.
SciFiJim@reddit
I've used this one for a couple of years.

I’m glad the new update lets you delete screen shots right from that screen, so just enlarge, read, delete.
sunshinecoffeegirl@reddit
I have 4x magnification glasses, and I still have to zoom in with my phone for those really tiny letters.
haveanapfire@reddit
Lalala I can't hear you.
noise_generator1979@reddit
You know, I was having a good day until I came across this post........

PuzzleheadedBobcat90@reddit
Why'd you have to call me out like that? :)
mommagawn123@reddit
A bunch. I ended up buying a pocket magnifying glass with a light. Best $10 spent.
Princess_Jade1974@reddit
I do this at work all the time, something isnt scanning then I have to type the code in.
PahzTakesPhotos@reddit
I have an iPhone and it has a magnifier where I don't need to take a photo (though the magnifier has that option).

Kuildeous@reddit
On the one hand, it's a shame my mom passed away before she could benefit from a smart phone. On the other, I'm grateful she never got on the internet because it would've been a full-time job keeping her away from scams.
Agabone@reddit
Far too many! Although some of them, like cocktail menus, are handy to keep for use at home.
IDunnoReallyIDont@reddit
None because I delete right after 🤣
MaximumJones@reddit
Hundreds, mostly labels on items in the grocery store. 🤣
Relevant_Wrangler830@reddit
None actually. I just zoom in on the video if I want a light, if not I just zoom in on camera. I dont take pic or record.
