i wanted to piggyback off of this post i made i’m new to programming and am trying to learn python in order to land a job sometime this year but i was wondering about the job market and how easy it would be to land a job. is python in demand or does my language not matter ? will it be hard to find a job i’m open to web development, software engineering or some other stuff if y’all had any ideas but cybersecurity and game dev is where i was looking at and idk how stable those markets are and was wondering. i live in nyc if that makes a difference. https://www.reddit.com/r/learnprogramming/comments/1sajk2b/help/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=ioscss&utm_content=2&utm_term=1

I'd say it's currently very unlikely to get hired as a self-taught developer with no experience in NYC right now. And I say that as a self-taught developer with no experience who got hired in NYC (20+ years ago)

The job market is very competitive right now. I think you would be better off trying to freelance or find another way to make money with coding.
