Is this sound normal?

I just got this Bosch equipped e bike and it makes this weird clacking sound. Is this normal? It also makes a clicking sound when the motor engages while riding.

I’d check the pedal. It may loose and if it is and you continue to ride it loose, it will eventually strip out the crank and you’ll need to replace both the pedal and the crank.

Is that the CX4 or CX5?

The drive unit is a Bosch Smart System, Performance Line don’t really know much else about it…

Ah.
Then this specific sound is actually normal. They fixed it in the new Performance Line CX5 but the 4 still had that issue. There's no new just Performance Line so it should just be that.
If the crank is bolted tight, then it has nothing to with this.

Thanks! I don’t even think it’s a CX version though, I know it has 75 Nm of torque, maybe that tells you the exact version?

No I know, this isn't the CX. It's the Performance Line. I didn't check correctly in the first comment.
The older generations all have the sound when turning the crank and the new ones don't, which is why I asked that first. To make sure that you actually have a CX4. But since you have a Performance Line, it automatically confirms that you have the older version.

Okay, so this is perfectly normal? Also the clicking sound when it engages?
HG1998@reddit
The sound that is in the video you posted is normal.
Check the link I added, you'll hear it even when there's no crank.
The clicking sound when engaging could either just be that but could be something else, hard to say with no footage.

I’ll send you a dm with footage of the clicking engaging sound.

Okay, thanks a lot! I’ll post a video of the engaging sound later!

if it's gen4 it's fine have the same thing, did over 10k with it and no issues

How tight is that crank bolt?
Significant-Tough715@reddit (OP)
It should be tight enough, I’ll try fastening it later though.
