This is fn disgusting. Next time you want to complain about having to pay to park, or whine about Bucee's not wanting our business, look no further than the mirror and the fellow driver next to you. This is why. Absolutely no respect for others' property.

Reminds me of people who don't return their shopping cart when the stall for them is 10 feet away and would rather allow it to damage someone else's property.

Been on the road 26 years. I've see plenty of people born here do it. Just pure laziness.
AnythingGlum9407@reddit
What's really messed up is that there are usually plenty of garbage cans or a dumpster nearby. How hard is it to grab your trash and walk ten feet with it?
greedybanker3@reddit
i hate when there is filth next to a trash can. i can understand the mindset of dumping trash on the ground. but walking all the way to the trash can and STILL not using it? cmon man.
Allcent@reddit
I work at an airport where you donāt want any trash.
I find bottles, paper, cans, and much more each day near where the airline personnel work. We have trash bins on each end of the jet bridge they would be working atā¦

Jacktheforkie@reddit
I found that drivers will litter even though they could toss it out the window and land it in a skip
Inside-Definition-53@reddit
That was until drivers started stealing them. They are now bundled up in a single place towards the front of stores or at the back of the lot. I remember when just about every other spot to 3-4 spots had a trash can nearby.
BdotaDot30@reddit

Have to agree with that statement....have a friend who is a trucker and every time I am around him he burps like a cow so loud out in public the people turn to look....and when ever he farts he raises his leg and does a pushing out grunt sound and makes a point to make it as loud as he can,
The guy is in his 50s and still acts like an uncivilized person.
Snookfilet@reddit

NewkidOTB278@reddit

wehavetime@reddit
Truckers are some of the nastiest people. Dumping piss in the parking lot making the lot smell disgusting and the bottom of your shoes during the summer, throwing trash directly next to their truck, etc. I had to explain to someone recently why a lot of places donāt want truckers and this is a perfect example of why.
Hard-Coconut-@reddit
this is horrible š
kwtransporter66@reddit
Hold the fuck on a minute.
Now I'm not defending pig truckers and some might have contributed to some of this. But does everyone see that ditch. Does it ever occur to some simple minded people that a vast majority of that trash just might have been blown there by the wind? Nobody ever saw trash being blown by the wind? Or trash being blown from over full trash cans at the fuel pumps, the lot or an uncovered dumpster? Anybody ever seen a garbage truck emptying a dumpster on a windy day? News flash, it doesn't always all go in the truck. How about regular motorist? Are they not capable of throwing trash out the windows? Are they not capable of contributing to overflowing garbage cans on the lot? How about other businesses in the area?
Stop just blaming this shit on truckers alone. There are many mitigating factors that could have contributed to this mess.
ChampionshipThin8916@reddit
Not excusing lazy, illegal dumping. But on the other hand, leaving trash on our trailers once done unloading should cause the receiver to incur steep fines. OSD is an annoyance, but if nothing was extra or rejected, there should be nothing other than load locks left on my trailer once unloaded.

Gonzotrucker1@reddit
Look at how most of them dress when they show up to work.
Few_Carpenter_9185@reddit
Bucee's doesn't want trucks because they did the math.
The the parking lot square foot per tractor-trailer, the 300 gallons of fuel per fill-up, and one driver buying a shower and something to eat, then sitting there for a few hours of OFF/1 & SB/2 on their ELD.
All compared to the math of the square footage of a car, minivan, or SUV, a 20 gallon fill-up, and often two or more passengers & even extra kids. Who buy food/snacks, some Chinese Bucee's merch, and then GTFO in 30 minutes to an hour.
Bucee's "hates truckers" because they make more money way faster off of passenger vehicles, that's all.
Trash, piss-jugs, abandoned pallets, lot lizards, or whatever else truckers might bring with them, those were distant second or third place considerations.
BigWhiteDog@reddit
Not a distant considerate really. All of that costs them money to clean up AND affects how the better paying customers see the place so I think it's all part of the same calculations.
Few_Carpenter_9185@reddit
I can't completely dismiss your argument, it's plausible.
However, I'd argue that the higher volume & turnover of non-Trucker & non-CDL customers could just as easily be even worse in terms of littering, vandalism, wear & tear on the facilities, etc.
But, if the trash like pallets & what appears to be partially abandoned loads, boxes & cartons in the OP's photo is a big issue, then yes, the entire trailer becomes a source of litter way bigger than a minivan.
I just haven't seen that before.
mershaltec@reddit

BigWhiteDog@reddit

Natste1s4real@reddit
I had a terminal in Montreal and it was all paid parking. Anybody left a mess, they had to pay for the cleanup and would get a warning. There would be no second warning there would be a charge and they would be blocked from the yard.
We had major international trucking companies as tenants and any time they would send somebody from head office to settle complaints from drivers, they would walk away apologizing. Drivers (I was one for 35 years) need to be held accountable and any company that doesnāt hold them accountable, is not worth doing business with.
BigWhiteDog@reddit
I like that idea. Hit the in the wallet.

Iāve seen drivers dump out their shopping trash bag, onto the ground NEXT to the trash can on more than a few times. I usually cuss them out if I can. Itās just the WORST. takes me days to calm down.
Captain_Wag@reddit
It's a vicious circle out here. Truck stops charge you $50 for a bag of jerky and $20 just to park there. Not to mention the $1,000 you just spent fueling up. Between that and being forced to use porta a pottys at most pickup/dropoffs some drivers start acting like the animals the world treats them as.
SlothyTendecies@reddit
I just left Fuelmaster in Cambridge City, IN and I wish I got a picture of all the pallets and containers full of broccoli that somebody threw in the grass. I aināt even mad about having to pay to park in some places. There are a lot of disgusting and pathetic people out here.
aacawe@reddit
Itās the property owners duty to clean the property. At your house or your place of business when somebody leaves something on your front lawn or on the driveway to your business , do you expect other people to clean it up? No thatās on you as property owner.
These disgusting properties are found at paid and not paid lots. So even when you pay, it doesnāt make a difference because the property owner is not doing his job.
Add to that, all these companies are raking in record revenue year after year, and we Driver still have to put up with limited parking, disgusting bathrooms, gross showers with no hot water or moldy tile, broken pumps, no air hoses, closed or shitty restaurants, no variety of healthy eating options, no Wi-Fiā¦.
Fuck all these dirty trucks stop lot owners.

Iāll never go OTR. If you have the ability to get your CDL on your own Iād highly recommend it. Local community colleges are the way to go. Most offer weekend or night courses. Find a school that trains in manuals so you donāt have a manual restriction. Start local and build your local network connections up. Networking and exposure is KEY.
Active-Blacksmith-41@reddit
No my comment is not AI. I went through a local community college here in Eastern NC back in June of 25. It was 8 weeks long. Finished in August on a Friday and had a job lined up with a mega flatbed carrier 3 days later. Went out with them OTR for a month. Hated every second of it. Sleeping at receivers was mandatory. No where to go to the bathroom, no where to shower, no where to get anything to eat, etc. The night that I was done I was in Johnson City, TN. Almost got sprayed by a skunk while walking 2 miles total to find a dollar store to try and take a deuce. Got a job lined up that weekend with a farm back home and never looked back. Got my X endorsement and now Iām running local hauling fertilizer trailers and doing flatbed deliveries to farms for chemicals.

I gave up on the āeveryone else is the problemā guys years ago when I caught an old timer on cam throwing trash under my trailer. It took everything in me not to post it online. Between the piss bottles on the fuel island and poop bags thrown under trailers, to bs like this, I pay these complaining Jamies no mind. Most are just a reflection of this industry. Low tier. Mfs buying 6 packs at the pilot but to cheap to pay to park. Itās a pathetic ouroboros cycle.

Car carriers utilize that as well. I can't really say it's all the old carriers because i had a 22 389 that blew a line on the tractor while lifting the top deck.

Idgaf if this hurts someone's feelings but straight the fuck up this problem only started with the mass immigration of the middle east.. the only mother fuckers i catch doing it either so I dont want to hear anything about how its hate speech. The truth hurts sometimes... this is a big problem here in Canada and many of us are fucking fed up to . Hell some of you American drivers probably know we have maybe 40 damn truck stops in the whole fucking country and its a big ass country at that š
bentstrider83@reddit
This is one way to put my ebike and a bike trailer to use. Larger scale, just an old pickup and go from truck stop to truck stop picking up trash. Another poster here suggested this as a good hustle.
Hell, use it as a means to put both ex cons and ex drivers that are blacklisted to work.
Islanderwithwings@reddit
Looking at it in a positive way. This could be a good side hustle job or weekend job, cleaning the back of truck stops.
Contact the local waste management company and get a contract to do this.
bentstrider83@reddit
A truck stop cleanup business. Or just a truck to truck cleaning business.
"I'm a stressed out driver who quit. But would now like to put my Lowes trash picker claw and rolling trash can to use.".
fusillijhericurl@reddit
The solution is to take photos of the mess and then complain on reddit.
Questionoid@reddit
That would actually be a solution, right? But even the corporate dickheads that I am tangled up with would pay to get a crew to clean up the shitshow IN THEIR OWN YARD on a monthly or even quarterly basis. They pay landscaping ONCE a year for cleanup. Same with city management, same with the county. Cunts, the whole lot of them.
MajorHymen@reddit
A smart business owner would look at this and see a solution rather than complain. Trash behind trucks where previously unloaded trailers get stuck with refused products or broken pallets the driver now has to deal with. A smart business owner would line this back property section with large dumpsters. The only thing that make take some thinking is how to do it while still making it easy to unload said dumpsters. If they own that small bit of land Iād remove all the grass level it out pave it so the dumpsters can roll to an area to be unloaded.
spartanantler@reddit
Truckers wonāt even walk to a trash can 10 ft away
MajorHymen@reddit
So, most will. Unless you suggest the solution be continue to complain and see if that does anything.
spartanantler@reddit
Paving and adding dumpsters cost thousands of dollars which they will finance it with paid parking.
MajorHymen@reddit
I donāt see a problem. Any solution costs money and paid parking already exists at most truck stop with the last hold out really only being loves.
Alaskan_Tiger@reddit
I had to go to the chemical plant in Kingston TN they don't let you park there at least they have a sign the rail yard is across the street I parked there as soon as I parked about 5 minutes later the security guard comes and tells me I can't park there THEY USED TO LET US PARK THERE he said that we made it messy and they had a big mess to clean up so I went to the chemical plant and parked / most Walmarts won't let us park there because we DONT KNOW where to dump or go pee I find a drain or dirt to dump mine if you go to I ia 80 TRUCK need a mask or your nose will burn

So lazy they can't buy a bulk box of trash bags like the rest of us and gather the garbage to dispose of properly. The pallets suck on the other hand but don't discard them just anywhere.

thehockie85@reddit
It is an interesting phenomenon. You only seem to see this kind of thing at actual dedicated Truck Stops, TA, Pilot, Loves etc. You don't see it at Casinos or other places that allow Truck Parking even though the Casinos etc don't seem to be putting any more effort into clean up than Truck Stops do
Questionoid@reddit
That just looks like somewhere in India or Pakistan. And trucking was never this, at this level. But, you become what you import in uncontrollable numbers, and then fail to police it. Seems like a self-inflicted societal wound right here. And on an individual level, it really sucks to be subjected to this, and see the decline. Never was I anti-trucker, but right now I think fuck truckers, fuck their companies, their institutions and fuck government that collects taxes for a problem they cant fix. Fuck this entire industry.
