What do I do? She left a shed blocking my front door
Posted by isntitdotty@reddit | AskUK | View on Reddit | 461 comments
I need some advice as I’m completely lost and feel like I ran out of options.
I’ve been dealing with an annoying neighbour for over a year now but I will just discuss her latest behaviour as that’s the one I’m most concerned about.
In July 2025 she has had her garden redone and she has removed a tall slim tool shed out her garden and placed it on my other neighbours driveway. She didn’t ask her permission just left it there. 2 weeks later she announced to her that she will remove it in a week or two as she can’t fit it in her car so she will have someone remove it for her. Skip forward 10 month the shed is still there. My other neighbours driveway had asked to remove it but she has ignored her. 2 weeks ago she asked her again as she just got a brand new car and now she has two cars on her drive so she ran out of space when the shed is there. She ignored her again. So she had moved that shed like 1m aside but now it’s blocking te alley way into my back garden. Our buns are also stored there. So now there’s only a foot gap between her shed and the fence so I’m blocked. My son uses the bak garden to access the house. He only has a back door key. So now he can’t access the house. I had delivery of some materials as I’m working on my garden and needed to access it so I have removed that shed and put it in front of her house. Nicely put up against her brick wall. I also removed all the bins (mine and hers) so there’s a clear fire evacuation path through my and her garden. At 8pm last night when she got back home she moved that shed and placed it in front of my door. Literally blocking my door. She also moved her bins back the alley so now my back and front of the house is blocked. I can’t move the bins as there’s no room to squeeze between them and my neighbours car. I’ve called police and they told me to move the shed back onto her property. I did that but so what. She will be back again after work and god knows what she’s gonna do. She was banging on my door last night but I was scared to open it. She came over 5 times banging on my door and windows shouting.
She also walks in front of my house directly in front of my window every time she puts her bins away. Atound 2/3 times a day which annoys me.
The police filed a harassment case but I still have to deal with her. They won’t intervene until there’s some physical violence.
I have wrote to council, housing association and even fire department as she’s blocking the fire evacuation path. I’ve been told it’s a civil case. So I’m just lost. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you
rhaenerys_second@reddit
This is wild. She's fucked you and the other neighbour about with this for nearly a year. You and your son, or someone else with some physical strength, get up and move the thing within the bounds of her property and leave it there. It's entirely her issue to sort out.
SpudFire@reddit
Can't believe the original neighbour just accepted this thing being on their property for a year.
Enough-Equivalent968@reddit
People who take the piss identify the very passive people to take advantage of. OP and the driveway neighbour are passive to the point of ridiculous and are unfortunately paying the price. A small section of society simply navigate every interaction by bullying those weaker than themselves.
I sympathise as I used to be the same. A life skill I had to learn is when to realise someone has crossed the line into abusing a passive nature. Nip these people in the bud early on and it stops the majority of them.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
She has a healthy 19yo son and an older daughter. She’s fit and works as a nurse. Last night all 3 of them put that shed in front of my door.
Forsaken-Yogurt-@reddit
Oh ho ho.
She's a nurse? OP put it back in front of her house and if it comes back your way film her moving it, film her screaming at you, and send it to her employer.
InkedDoll1@reddit
Definitely this. I work in the NHS and with the current culture of anti bullying/respect etc the trust she works for will take a very dim view of this behaviour. Even better if OP can covertly film it with a go pro or something.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Wow didn’t think about it. That all sounds so extreme and I know she’s obviously doing the extreme things but I’m just not into any sort of confrontations. I know I need to step up for myself but it’s just so scary to do :( I tried so many times talking to her nicely and it just doesn’t help. She just laughs at me bluntly. Clearly she’s a stereotypical council state person and I’m just a normal decent human being, single mum.
MissElx@reddit
You know you need to stand up for yourself. Call 101 and tell them your neighbour has thrown a shed into your garden and is harassing you. That way it’s not you needing to be confrontational, let them sort it out.
ChoreomaniacCat@reddit
Did you read the description? Police say they won't intervene unless there's violence and everyone else OP has written to says it's a "civil matter".
I totally agree with you about the importance of standing up to assholes like this, neighbour is acting way too bold, but it's sadly unlikely that the police will "sort it out" for you in these circumstances.
KittyGrewAMoustache@reddit
I’m like you too, I try to be nice and I take it and take it and get bemused and scared and then at some point it reaches a point where I snap inside and Dark Me comes out, and then I’ll plot in the shadows for as long as it takes for vengeance to be had. You need to let Dark You rise up. You can be lovely and normal and give people the benefit of the doubt but some people just don’t fucking deserve Normal Nice You at the end of the day.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Yes that is totally me. And I really try to do everything by the book and follow the proper way of dealing with things and I expect that to work but clearly so far the whole system has failed me. I tried reaching out to all possible sources Council Housing association, fire department and police what else can I do. I’m buying a camera tomorrow not happy with the costs 40 for the camera plus 60 for an SD card so I can store the recordings without subscription. At least I will have some evidence if it gets to it.
ReallySmallFeet@reddit
I know you are scared to retaliate or stand up for yourself, but one thing I have to repeat to myself whenever I feel that way is this -
What you allow is what will continue.
hoodie92@reddit
Mate your neighbour is extreme. The things you're describing are psychotic. She needs to be taught a lesson.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
I know she really is. She never swears or shouts just last night she just laughs at me with her comments. It’s awful. Last time I asked her to put her bins back and not leave them out for whole week as it’s obviously coincidentally next to my car. She laughed at me and said “I thought it’s your responsibility” so for the first and last time I called her f cu dragged her bin behind her car and she reported me to housing association and when I’ve called the police this morning they told me she has reported me to them too. She literally told me it’s my responsibility to put her bins away as i obviously done it few times as it’s was inconvenient for me to reverse.
Forsaken-Yogurt-@reddit
You could always just film her and then remind her you can report her to encourage her to behave better. Depends how ballsy you are really
Total_Fly_2628@reddit
Better yet.. send it to the NMC.
ACanWontAttitude@reddit
Yeah it shouldnt really be a thing but Haaaa she is playing with fire doing this as a nurse ( I say this as a nurse)
If i was being like this outside of work and my employer was notified I would be in the shit
OP why is everyone so scared of her? Fucking move the thing back to her property. She has more to lose at this point by kicking off as she can even be reported to the Nursing and Midwifery Council if shes being an arsehole 😂
RabidRuber@reddit
You HAVE to report her wherever she works, I do not want to imagine going to a hospital and having this cowbag treating me
Melon_92@reddit
Works as a nurse? Contact her employer with a complaint. Maybe she was wearing her uniform when she did it..
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
That’s interesting about the uniform. I doubt it but I will now watch her closely for sure.
KittyGrewAMoustache@reddit
They’re very odd people and doing that seems like an obvious attempt to provoke. So I get feeling a bit scared of them. It was shit and insane to me to put it on someone else’s property in the first place but having said she’d remove it then not removing it and having it moved back to her property, to put it in front of someone’s door as if they deserve having some retaliation simply for politely moving your rubbish back to your house is just crazy to me and suggests someone with severe personality/psychological problems. One of those types who can’t compute that other people actually exist or have a right to anything if it inconveniences them.
Yeah those types can be dangerously and unhinged.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Yes exactly. Thank you for sympathising with me. I genuinely don’t understand why would she do that. It’s her own rubbish why do I need to deal with it. I asked her to remove it nicely she genuinely don’t care about anyone.
jeanettem67@reddit
Did you video them doing it? More evidence.
PlaneWar203@reddit
Why are you allowing this lying down?
You need to stand up for yourself, don't passively stand by and allow people to bully you. Enough is a enough, tell her it stops, she takes her shit and stops bothering you and blocking your property.
Elgin_McQueen@reddit
Was clearly a gift then for you to do what you please.
CoconutForward8315@reddit
You're all cowards
rhaenerys_second@reddit
Okay? So you know three people can pick the thing up and move it. Go move it back.
sihasihasi@reddit
That's plain harassment.
Broken_Woman20@reddit
Move it onto her property and fill it with bricks.
Locust-15@reddit
I’d be putting it on the roof of her car if she had one.
zaralesliewalker@reddit
That is legit mental, having your front door blocked is a huge safety risk, especially if there’s a fire
Glitterland@reddit
Do you have a camera set up outside your home? I'd get one of those cameras and get solid proof of her moving it back onto your driveway.
thundercumt94@reddit
Just turn it into free fireword. It’s a lot harder to rebuild when it’s fucking burning.
CampaignCurrent2912@reddit
Have you confirmed with her that she definitely doesn't want the shed? If she has a means of transportation maybe propose that you (or she) smashes the shit out of the shed till it fits in her car? That thing is going to fall apart the moment you apply a bit of brute force.
ReySpacefighter@reddit
Report it as flytipping.
TheLonelyWolfkin@reddit
They won’t deal with it on private property. It’ll be a civil matter. Pretty much fucked on this tbh.
BiscuitCrumbsInBed@reddit
Yes they will. Someone dumped a fridge in my mum's neighbours front garden only a few weeks ago. They reported it as fly tipping and the council took it away. I also had a mattress dumped outside mine a couple of years ago and the council took that too.
Melon_92@reddit
This would probably dead with the shed, but in effect the OP would be arranging disposal of it for the neighbour which hardly sets a good precedent.
I had something vastly less serious than this (in OPs situation I might be headed to jail..) where some thoughtless people 5 houses down from my old home used to leave large items of furniture out for bin collection on the pavement. Of course they didn't get collected (I'm talking like an office desk fully built..), and they'd just leave it there for weeks on end. I submit fly tipping reports twice on this, including detailing in the report that it was the resident who had left it. Both times the council collected same day - so the problem was solved - but there was no consequence to the perpetrator. So in effect I inadvertently reinforced their belief that leaving furniture on the pavement was the right thing to do - oops.
Aggressive_Cream_188@reddit
The difference being that they know who dumped the shed and where to send the bill. OP should contact the council.
Airurando-jin@reddit
Are your mums neighbours owners of their home ?
BiscuitCrumbsInBed@reddit
Yes, they are.
AnastasiaRomanot@reddit
They do.
If you flytip onto a farmer’s land, they deal with it.
Neddlings55@reddit
They absolutely do not!
Councils only deal with fly tipping on public property. Fly tipping on private property is a civil matter.
Fly tipping on farmland can be financially crippling too, Especially when the EA start making threats about fines.
AnastasiaRomanot@reddit
The council won’t remove it, no, but it’s still a crime they are responsible for investigating.
Neddlings55@reddit
The council wont do anything for fly-tipping on private property. They certainly dont investigate anything. Its a civil matter.
Whilst they can, they simply do not. Not their problem so they make no effort. Reporting it to them is pointless. If people do report fly-tipping on private land, they simply contact the land owner and tell them to get it cleared.
The EA only get involved when it comes to commercial/large scale, or hazardous fly tipping. Even then its mainly to force to land owners to get it cleared and disposed of legally.
Remote_Atmosphere993@reddit
The council do investigate fly tipping on private land. They will force the owner of the land to remove the fly tipping.
Neddlings55@reddit
Thats not investigating really though is it? You've also just repeated what i have already stated.
They have no interest in finding out who dumped it or punishing them.
I deal with around 30-40 lots of fly tipping every single year. The council do nothing. The EA makes threats.
Remote_Atmosphere993@reddit
It is investigating. In most cases the neighbourhood warden will not know who the land owner is so they have to investigate this.
Neddlings55@reddit
Thats investigating who owns the land, not who has committed the crime.
Entirely different thing.
Remote_Atmosphere993@reddit
When did I say it was the same thing?
Neddlings55@reddit
You said 'The council do investigate fly tipping on private land'.
Investigating who owns land isnt investigating fly tipping.
LambonaHam@reddit
It's part of the overall investigation. Stop talking before you embarrass yourself further.
Neddlings55@reddit
By finding out the landowner the council are investigating a statutory nuisance ( section 79 of the EPA 1990).
Fly tipping is section 33.
The two offences and consequences are entirely different.
LambonaHam@reddit
If they're finding the landowner because a report on fly tipping was submitted, then they're investigating fly tipping.
Remote_Atmosphere993@reddit
So what does the council do if they don't know who the land owner is?
Your last sentence is hilarious 😂
Neddlings55@reddit
Again, its not investigating the actual fly tipping is it? They arent having a look through the stuff, they arent looking for information as to who left it, they arent asking for dashcam or CCTV evidence. They dont do anything if you have clear images of who committed the fly tipping either.
They simply someone to fork out money to pay for something they shouldnt be responsible for and wash their hands of it.
InevitableBusBonker@reddit
So presumably the letter from the council my neighbour got after dumping their shit everywhere wasn't part of an investigation and they just have psychics hired who knows exactly who did it right?
Never seen someone be so confidently incorrect in a situation they have evidently never actually been in the process of.
LambonaHam@reddit
You're wrong. I know you're wrong because I've reported fly tipping on private property and had the council come out.
lumoslomas@reddit
I got a letter through my door for a shoe rack on my own property for less than half a day. Total waste of their time and paper, but they still did it.
Sweet_Focus6377@reddit
The council won't remove it, but can prosecute.
popshares@reddit
Can you drag her shed into the middle of the road and leave it there. Of course, ensure you can still get in and out.
WordWizardx@reddit
This was what I was going to recommend - put it on public property and THEN report fly tipping.
lumoslomas@reddit
They absolutely do.
I had a vindictive neighbour (I don't know what she's vindictive about, I've barely spoken to her) report me for fly tipping for leaving a shoe rack on my own front lawn for a grand total of 4 hours. (I was moving furniture in and had nowhere else to put it so I wouldn't break my leg). Got a letter threatening to fine me if I didn't move it... except by the time I got the letter it had long been returned to its place.
Milam1996@reddit
It’s still a criminal offence.
TheLonelyWolfkin@reddit
Smoking marijuana is a criminal offence. Is it dealt with? No. Means fuck all.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
But can I do that? She literally lives next door? Is that flytipping if she leaves it on other people’s driveway or front of a property?
Dry_Action1734@reddit
Local council will have a page on fly tipping.
Yes, that’s fly tipping.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
I wrote to council and they told me it’s a civil matter. Not sure why they didn’t refer me to report that as flytipping. I will definitely do that but obviously the soonest is Tuesday and now I have to deal with her and I’m scared. They had lots of domestics with her son for years and the police was being called like twice a week sometimes. Now they both banging on my door. I’m genuinely scared :(
Neddlings55@reddit
Call the police. Tell them you are being threatened and fear for your safety.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
I did that last night when she was banging and shouting. No reply. I was even told it’s not a 999 type of emergency and had to call 101 this morning again and report it.
FatBloke4@reddit
Next time, tell them she is banging on the door, that you are afraid for your life and that you have a carving knife with which to defend yourself. Then go "AAAAHHH!" and hang up.
If they give you shit about the "AAAAHHH!", tell them you stubbed your toe on something and dropped the phone.
Melon_92@reddit
Strongly suggest not telling the police you have a knife on the phone unless you want to be the one headed off in handcuffs...
TheTjalian@reddit
If she does that again make sure to record it on video as evidence
Independent_Camp_982@reddit
Tell the police she misgendered you.
Neddlings55@reddit
Tell them someone is actively trying to break in.
It is an emergency situation.
Do NOT include the information about bins and sheds. Just tell them the basics.
geeered@reddit
I would contact an elected councillor.
They absolutely can deal with it, but I guess don't want to because it's easy for them to just pass the buck.
I can understand they don't have the money to investigate every case of fly tipping on a farm field say, but here it's a private property and there should be very clear evidence of who did it.
Leather_Wolverine249@reddit
Why are you scared? I don't get this. She should be scared of you
Neddlings55@reddit
Council wont do anything if its on private property.
The person who owns the land its dumped certainly can have it disposed of though and are in fact the ones legally responsible for it.
Buffy_Geek@reddit
Yes it still counts because she isn't leaving it on her property, or disposing of it properly like at a tip.
No-Willingness-4097@reddit
There would be no proof that you moved it into the road, it's her shed and I'm sure some of the other neighbours who she's pissed off would side with you.
ExcitementKooky418@reddit
My thoughts would be report to environmental health. Possibly even fire brigade as a fire hazard, ie flammable materials AND blocking escape
Bloatville@reddit
Could drag it somewhere on public land & leave something like a piece of junk mail stuffed in there to identify her perhaps
Spank86@reddit
Not unless its on the road. Or at least nobody cares unless its on public land.
So either throw it in her garden or staple an envelope addressed to her on the door and drag it into the road.
Asleep-Software-4160@reddit
The best kind of flytipping, where they know who tipped it.
xwell320@reddit
Report flytipping to your council, ours is anonymous, yours may be too. If (when) the blokes come to remove it you can let them know where it came from, just being helpful..
ReySpacefighter@reddit
If she's dumped large waste like that somewhere other than her property and not where it's supposed to be, it's flytipping. If it's her property, then in general she can leave it there.
randobonando@reddit
Councils LOVE to chase fly tips as it’s a handy revenue stream
Luckduck86@reddit
If it's easy enough to drag, take it all the way down the street or into an alleyway. Get rid of it for good. Or If you can somehow get it over the fence into her backyard. I'd be getting fairly irate at this point and all rationale would be out the window.
BobTheCosmonaut@reddit
Break it down & post each individual plank through her letterbox 😆
jonlawrence93@reddit
Why have you not just broken it up for free fire wood? At this point it sounds like you would be doing everyone a favour.
doc1442@reddit
Just throw it over her fence back into her garden.
caughtunaware@reddit
I would say this is exactly the right response as I've been here and I've done this. Neighbours used to dump their tree cuttings, like topping 4/5ft off a laylandii, into my garden. Beer kegs on one occasion and general shit.
I would deliver it back. However the entitlement was too strong as they said nothing and continued to dump on me like it was just any other Tuesday.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
That’s crazy I can’t believe it. I loved all my life happily in a bubble of nice neighbours and now this :( I feel so bad
jimmywhereareya@reddit
Just put it in front of her house. Let her deal with it
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
I did that. I placed it nicely leaning over the brick wall and she moved it in front of my front door. That’s the issue here. Now I moved it back onto her property. She put it on a floor so I dragged it this time. I was still respectful enough not to block anything. I literally couldn’t leave my house without moving it.
CloudWalkings@reddit
Lean it against her door so when she opens it it falls into her house, and continue doing so until she disposes of it.
Millefeuille-coil@reddit
I’d put a letter with her name and address on and drag it to the kerb, then phone the council to report fly tipping. But my biggest mistake in life is listening to the voice in my head.
andypanty69@reddit
I think I was thinking of pretty much the exact opposite... Take it back to hers, secure it to her wall, fence, whatever. If anything said say how you noted how it always seems to get blown away in even the lightest wind so as a favour to her you added the bolts and concrete sill she won't have that problem again.
ThinkFinish85@reddit
Yes, this! She is actually fly tipping anyway
Len_S_Ball_23@reddit
Box it up in a giant cardboard box, address it to her, fill out a postie collection and then put minimal postage on it.
When it gets delivered, the recipient has to pay for the postage if it's not enough (just put a "fake" or wrong return address on it)
She'll have to pay, to receive her own shed, from the address she dumped it at.
Enhance15to23@reddit
Pending council action glue it to the pathway using stixall between that wheelie bin and those doormats. Also, glue the bin and the doormats to it so it becomes one unit.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Legendary action very creative
roboticlee@reddit
You need to bolt it in place.
Gisschace@reddit
I am so petty I would just carry on moving it back
free-the-imps@reddit
Move it back after applying ‘no more nails’
Theratchetnclank@reddit
This is the best idea OP.
AgileSloth9@reddit
Dismantle it and post it through her letterbox, but don't get seen doing it.
Teaches them to be a cunt.
SkyhallBoy@reddit
That sounds like me. Or break it down, get a burner bin and blower, let the madness in. If someone is being a knob, then it's okay to listen to the voice in your head.
caughtunaware@reddit
It happens and the only advice I can give having lived to this for years; she doesn't respect you or your other neighbours. Respect is a two way street. Show her the same level of compassion and respect she shows you. I would just tip that shed over the fence, I'd drag it round and sit it on her front path blocking her way down it.
mentaldriver1581@reddit
I think I’d be getting the sledgehammer out at this point.
caughtunaware@reddit
Would be cathartic until you realise no one is cleaning that up but you. I say this because I wasn't the only person who got my neighbours crap. She sent it next door too and every year the wee old man who lived next to me would spend hours sawing it into little bundles to put in his own bin. And he always looked so pissed off but would comment "it isn't neighbourly" to throw it back. Which is why people can be cunts round my way, it's neighbourly to be treated like a doormat.
Traxxas_Basher@reddit
After sawing it into bits you need to post it through their letterbox instead of putting it in your bin.
Low-Run9256@reddit
Elderly neighbour that has no cognitive problems would smoke by her front door then blow her nose and throw the tissues into our garden, next doors garden or the path in front. So with gloves on I collected all her tissues for a whole year and posted them as a Christmas present.
It stopped
Cow_Launcher@reddit
I read a similar post earlier about someone who lived next to a man who dumped dog bones, (bones that a dog chews on, not bones from a dog) over the fence into his yard.
Apparently he collected them and dumped years' worth back over the fence. He similarly got the message and stopped doing it.
Choice-Demand-3884@reddit
I had a neighbour who filled up a massive above-ground pool during a hosepipe ban and used to hold very noisy parties in it, right under our bedroom window. I used to collect fox turds from our lawn and flick it into his pool, where they sank to the bottom. Turd soup. It was a long hot summer and there were a lot of turds.
Melodic-Pea3117@reddit
its inspiring ! thanks for the idea.
sharkeatskitten@reddit
and stagger the deliveries over an extended period of time
Dry-Economics-535@reddit
I'd put it on the side of the road and advertise it on Facebook market place as free to whoever collects first
Ojy@reddit
You'll be doing her a favour. Chuck it into her garden so she has to work hard to get it out.
missyrainbow12@reddit
I'd break it up into smaller pieces and wang it over the fence every couple of days
WeeklyExamination@reddit
Start using it as an outhouse, then remove the door and put it right up to the woman's (the shed owner's) front door (door to door) in the night.
See how she likes dealing with other people's shit. Pun intended.
cyberllama@reddit
The neighbours at one of my old houses used to let their dog into my garden to shit. I had to padlock the gate to stop them
thecatsothermother@reddit
When I was a kid, we had a neighbour who had their dog outsid3 in the garden on a lead long enough that it could get into our garden over the fence (which it for, fence was only 2ft and it was an Old English Sheepdog) and it used to shit in our garden.
One day I overheard Mum saying "I wish I could throw it all back into their garden" so I went outside with my spade I had for a rare beach trip, and did exactly that - shovelled up the dog shit and flinging it back over the back garden fence while the neighbour watched me from their kitchen.
Nothing else was said or done, but the neighbour shortened the dog's leash so it couldn't jump mover our fence again.
UserCannotBeVerified@reddit
Ask the police what threshold needs to be met before they put in an ABC with her. Abc is an Acceptable Behaviour Contract, which the police will issue to someone wether or not they agree to it, and it basically outlines a list of acceptable and unnacceptable behaviours that she can and cannot do. Its like saying behave like a normal person and dont do xyz otherwise we can arrest you for xyz. Its the first step on the way to filing a court injunction against her, but its usually quite effective and behaviour usually stops once the ABC is issued. Everytime she bangs in your door or shours or does anything that makes you feel uncomfortable in your own home, call non emergency police and have it logged as an ongoing dispute - having a list of previous police logs shows that this isnt a one off event and that there is continual and targeted behavioural issues.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
This is very helpful thank you. Finally some solid advice. It’s been going on since beginning of January and I e been in contact with housing association since. Probably 10 emails back and forth with pictures documenting her behaviour.
UserCannotBeVerified@reddit
We have just (like 10 minutes ago) had coppers round to show us the ABC theyve put in place against our neighbour, im happy to share it with you in dm if youd like to see what that kinda process looks like?
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Omg yes please I e never heard about it until someone mentioned it here earlier. I have googled it but I’m interested in hearing more from you. How do we send DM I only just signed up on here. Thank you
UserCannotBeVerified@reddit
Just gonna edit out the personal info and ill message you now :)
zedexcelle@reddit
You might have to disclose an ABC or behaviour dispute with neighbours in the sales details I f/when you sell so bear that in mind
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Thank you I don’t own the place it’s housing association sort of like council.
MisterHekks@reddit
Call the council, report her for flytipping.

step39er@reddit
Just set fire to it. No shed no problem
Layzox@reddit
Wait until she's out, get some heavy grip adhesive from Screwfix, cover the back, then lay it down in front of her door. Job done!
Bdroyle1988@reddit
Legally, probably not a lot you can do.
Practically, play who’s the worst neighbour and never back down.
I’d wait till they’re asleep and put right in front of their door, then fill it to the brim with your general waste rubbish.
It’ll be too heavy to move in one go, and they’d have wade through a mountain of rubbish to get in/out of their house.
Throw in a few glitter bombs for decoration.
Then install a few security cameras to record their revenge that’ll probably overstep into criminality.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
I would love to do that trust me I probably would specially when she’s not home or at night as you said but she has that bloody camera and she reports everything and complains at everyone all the time. She never sees her wrong doings just everyone else’s.
Bdroyle1988@reddit
If you and some friends can lift it, load it up first and then carry it to her front door. Camera just shows you’s returning her property.
Good luck to her proving anything otherwise.

This could well constitute fly tipping - contact environmental health through the council
carefuldaughter@reddit
british people are way too nice. if it's on your property, you call up some gents who do junk removal, pay them to haul it away.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Haha she’s British I’m polish :)
carefuldaughter@reddit
you've assimilated!!!
DrShocking12@reddit
Malicious compliance.. put it back on her side.cement inside to make it heavier. She'll cry. Ofc expensive.
tanith_16@reddit
Depending on how close it is to your door or an side garden exit I’d report it to the police or fire brigade, it can be a genuine safety issue and she need to be forced to remove it or fined.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Yes I done all that. Council told me it’s a civil matter I challenged that. Housing association promising me help but nothing gets done. I called a fire department but it was Good Friday after hours. So waiting for them to come back to me on Tuesday but the shed is not blocking my garden anymore. Police took a harassment complaint but god knows what that will do. Probably nothing. At least she didn’t come back tonight. She’s probably plotting something or complaining about me. At least I know I have done nothing wrong and police actually advised me to move the shed even if it falls apart.
tanith_16@reddit
I’d honestly go down to the fire station if they have a reception, blocking the alley or your door is extremely dangerous and the fact that she seems to have done it purposely is worse. At first it was just stupid negligence but now it’s likely an actual crime. They should really be sending either a police officer or a fire marshal down to have a word with her.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
I swear you can’t make this shit up
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
I agree with you. I told the police that and she laughed at me. She said you call the fire when there’s fire and I said but if there is a fire I can’t get out the house and she told me that there is no fire so I call them if there is one. Would you believe it? Well if there was a fire I would be dead because I can’t leave the area.
tanith_16@reddit
I’ve just read that it is infact blocking the alley for your back garden, imagine someone inna wheelchair or a bigger person visits your house and there’s a fire and you have to go out the back, there’s no way they can get out the back garden through the exit.
MegsSixx@reddit
Dismantle it and leave the planks by her door
No-Snow-9605@reddit
Your neighbour must have mental issues, I would be really nervous about it all turning physical. No person in their right mind would do what she is doing.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Yes that’s exactly that. I don’t like confrontations and I do understand it needs to be addressed but she just won’t listen. She just ignores me or laughs at my face says it’s my problem. She leaves her bins out all week that are on the side of my car so I need to hard reverse every time and when I mentioned it she said it’s my responsibility to take care of it laughing at me. I swear she’s just so ignorant and disrespectful.
sashwaaa-smillington@reddit
Do you have anyone in your life who will kick off at her on your behalf? I saw in a comment you mentioned a partner, can they?
I understand conflict avoidant issues, growing up I had the worst social anxiety that someone even raising their voice at me made me shake (childhood trauma), nevermind threats of violence, I honesty do empathise with your stance. This went on until I couldn't take being bullied or treated like a doormat anymore. Overcoming that and going red mist once or twice has improved my life massively. Personally I just acted mental, fake it til you make it, most people think twice about someone acting completely unhinged and aggressive even if you're secretly scared inside.
Hope you get this sorted I really feel for you and would give her a slap for you 🌚
It's so bizarre that the relevant organisations are just ignoring the ongoing harassment, I would end up being a nuisance to police if I was truly scared like you seem to be, call them on 101 every single time she is aggressive or banging on your door and tell them you're scared for your safety.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Yes I am a survivor of narcissistic mother so I hate conflict as my whole childhood was a conflict and abuse. My partner is an avoidant too. Which doesn’t make it any easier. I just got back from Olio food collection and a couple that I often collect food from offered me their help if I’m scared. They gave me their number and offered they gonna turn up with their big dogs if i need help. Even if I need someone to sit with. How kind is that. Not that I would ever ask them to step in but it’s nice to be offered.
lonehorizons@reddit
I’m sorry to be mean but you really need to just tell her to fuck off. Push the shed back onto her drive and tell her that’ll keep happening until she gets rid of it herself.
She sounds like the kind of person who’s tried their luck walking all over other people her whole life and so far no one’s pushed back.
If you’re not willing to do that you may as well delete this whole post because enough people have given you the solution over the last few hours.
Again, no offence and I’m not trying to insult you or anything.
Evangelionish@reddit
Keep putting it back on her plot of land, possibly in the back garden if you can pick it up and lower it safely.
Only way to get the police to take it seriously is record whats going on and push her to making aggressive physical contact. Sounds like politely moving it back over and over again will eventually do that.
Bad neighbours can really be the worst :(
badgersforbreakfast@reddit
Is she rough or something? Why aren't you confronting her over this insane behaviour?
DisMyLik18thAccount@reddit
The sort of person who would do this in the first place is the sort of person who will get violent when confronted
lonehorizons@reddit
Or she might just be the kind of person who’s walked all over other people her whole life and got used to it because no one’s pushed back, maybe.
Pretency@reddit
Probably rough. I'd tell me neighbour to fucking do one if they tried this shit. My neighbour is a prick but at least she doesn't pull stunts like this.
Len_S_Ball_23@reddit
Crack the windows open are little, the ones she walks passed regularly. Every time she walks passed the right hand one, let off an airhorn. Every time she walks passed the next one, let off another air horn, but a different pitched one.
Then mix them up for some fun variety..?
You could leave one out and then fire off two when she comes back, keep her guessing..?
She'll stop walking passed them unnecessarily before too long.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Omg that is amazing advice I love it. She can’t even complain as it’s on my property. I love this. Totally will do that. So creative thank you 🙏
AdeptAtPoorDecisions@reddit
I would post this on the LegalAdviceUK forum BUT I would just call the council as this is fly tipping, right?
ZonePleasant@reddit
Would 100% put that right on her car. In the front seat.
n8te85@reddit
Break it down into small sections and post it through her letterbox.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Hahahahaha that’s actually genius. I would love to have balls to do that haha
Contract-Spirit@reddit
She's leaving shit literally on your property, just throw it back into her garden. If you don't stand up shit like this will always happen.
lonehorizons@reddit
Yeah I really don’t understand how this situation has gone on for 10 months. I wouldn’t have someone else’s old shed left on my drive for nearly a year, I’d just move it back onto hers each time it happened, and mention it politely whenever I saw her.
Okhlahoma_Beat-Down@reddit
Worst case scenario, she gets violent.
Then again, the outcome of that is "The harassment has turned to violence, the Police can now get involved and I have a huge backlog of evidence of your shitty behaviour".
_Anxious_Hedgehog_@reddit
That's all well and good but how many times do police actually help out? And I think people underestimate how horrible it is to live next to a neighbour who makes you life a living hell
Latter_Can7625@reddit
Is the only way. I had bad neighbours and so did my friend, we both returned the poo they were dumping on us, to their doorstep/ through their letterbox and that was the end of their bad behaviour.
Time-Caterpillar4103@reddit
Don’t even need to do the letter box. Literally just break it down into as many parts as possible and sling them into her garden. Bonus points for removing nails/screws etc and slinging them over loose aswell.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
It all sounds so tempting you know. I watch this video on YT but I don’t want to be THAT person plus don’t want to get in trouble. She has cameras back and front of her property btw
Forsaken-Yogurt-@reddit
So she has video evidence of herself fly tipping then.
Honestly OP you have only two options. Choose the path of peace, also the path of least resistance, smash the stupid thing up and dump it in your and her wheely bins just before bin day (or take it to the tip).
Or choose the path of violence. For the path of violence you have to be sure you are absolutely willing to take it further than she is. If you won't palost a flaming bag of dog shit through her door, you are probably better choosing the path of least resistance.
It's a fairly small job to break up this piece of crap, you could even warn her you are going to do it. Actually you can even post on on marketplace as free firewood or spares and repairs of you don't want the effort of breaking it down yourself.
SavlonWorshipper@reddit
It is abandoned property. It can't be stolen or subject to criminal damage. Kick it to bits, it will be easy, and then she has no obstacle to bringing it to the dump.
Amurana@reddit
This is a great point. Fits in her car if it's busted up!
danio105@reddit
I think you have this problem in the first place because the neighbour has correctly identified you as a bit of a wimp.
Who are you going to get in trouble with? It's their shed.
At the risk of sounding like an internet hard man I'd be breaking it up in to small bits and scattering it across their garden, aiming for any nice plants they have, they can have some nice footage of me calling them a tramp the whole time and that next time its going through any open windows.
ExcitementKooky418@reddit
What's she going to do, show the police the evidence of you returning her property to her?
Slow_Perception@reddit
Well, you could always announce to the camera first (and perhaps as you are doing it) that you are returning said shed as it is causing a fire hazard and blocking your access (and that it's not your shed). Don't block her access or create a hazard for her.
You could also pop your phone up filming somewhere to catch if she comes out and has a go. Don't rise if she does, just continue to state that you are returning the shed that she has dumped on your land, blocking access & causing a fire hazard.
If you end up capturing her threatening you on film, you've got evidence (and also her hopefully admitting ownership of the shed also). If she then puts it back, surely that will be enough to make the police/council move? And if not, post to local groups and things? Or perhaps to the papers saying the police or council won't do f all (as they love those stories).
n8te85@reddit
I mean technically you are just returning her property...
One-Mud7175@reddit
Grow some then. Protect your property and don’t stand for dickheads who don’t respect it.
Sharktistic@reddit
I don't mean this to sound as awful as it does but do you actually have the balls to do anything about it?
There are plenty of sensible and reasonable ways to deal with this situation but you're posting on Reddit instead of acting.
Personally I'd pinkgrip the shed over her front door overnight.
Past_Grass_@reddit
Id do this but in the new back garden
ExcitementKooky418@reddit
Soak the bits in piss and freeze them before posting
Grouchywhennhungry@reddit

TheSnarkyObserver@reddit
She keeps dragging it to different places? Looks abandoned to me. Maybe see if you can get someone to haul it ti the dump.
broken_relic@reddit
Break it down to planks and post it through her letterbox.
RikersPhallus@reddit
See a solicitor for a start. If the police don’t want to deal with harassment a solicitor will get the ball rolling from a civil point of view. Tit for tat back and forth moving of the shed will get you nowhere. Also phone the police back. If you don’t get a satisfactory answer ask to speak to someone higher up. It’s harassment. It doesn’t have to become physical for the police to act. If they don’t act make a complaint. Then they’ll act. Tell them all about her psychotic behaviour as well and that you fear for your safety. These are all easy things to do and you need to stop saying oh I don’t want to do that. If you don’t. Delete the post as people are posting advice and wasting their time on your.
technomat@reddit
I'd drag it behind her car every time, so everytime she wants to use the cars she has to move it, when she goes out move on the drive way upto the kerb so has to move it to get car in.
If carried on until next bin day, I'd stick her name and address on it and leave it with the bins on bin day right next to her bin clearly leaving distance to my bin with my house number on my bin, then it becomes a matter for the council.
cheezecakeMinis@reddit
Why are you even asking here you pay 2 lads a tenner each and get them to throw it over the fence on her new garden.
Keromor82@reddit
Move it on to their property, they have no right to leave it on someone else's simple as that.
_Anxious_Hedgehog_@reddit
If she's in a Housing Association property that is 100% anti social behaviour and they will have a policy on it. They should log it and ask for a diary of things that happen
Unique_Bed1541@reddit
Put it on her car
caffeine_and_campers@reddit
She's taking the pi$$, hoping that someone else will deal with it
Personally, I'd be over the top smarmy, cut/smash it up, put in a rubble sack & put it in her garden, then drop a note through her door telling her that you've broken it up for her, to help out, being neighbourly, so it will fit in her car & allow her to take to the tip
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Haha yes but that feels like I’m helping her out as apparently she can’t do it herself. My other neighbour offered her help taking it to the tip and she refused it. That’s the neighbour that had that shed for 10min that on her driveway. Just imagine how rude.
NathanaelSpoon@reddit
Shove it a bit so you can get into your house etc. Keep removing one piece of wood every day.
Not-That_Girl@reddit
I would move it back to her, its hers, be kind, just a shame its now either blocking her door or her car. Plus I'd do anyth8ng to block off her access to my gard3n, like a short fence part way from the back gates are, so shed have to walk round it. Paint the back of it luminous or literally or something horrible
Reorka@reddit
Honestly, I don't know what reply you're expecting here. I've just gone through all the comments and you are putting a barrier up with most of them.
Either put it back on her property boundary, take it to the tip or take civil action against them through the court.
You say you don't want to "be that neighbour" by putting it back within her boundary (they seem very happy to be a complete annoyance to you though), but you're not taking it to the tip as "that's her job".
Whilst I agree it's definitely not your responsibility to take it to the tip, what advice are you expecting to get?
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
And I want it done in a civil way. I tried all my formal options and they all failed with supporting me a way to deal with this. Shed is being moved back and forth. The problem is not a shed but a neighbour. We will get rid of a shed and she will dump something else there. Like a broken dishwasher wire or cloth drying rail that sits next to my property wall for months.
Plus_Band_3283@reddit
If you don’t stand up to bullies, they never stop bullying you.
Ezekiiel@reddit
There is no civility, she isn’t interested. She doesn’t respect your or your neighbour
KayGlo@reddit
You want it done in a civil way but civility is a 2 way street that your neighbour is clearly not willing to walk down with you.
You either keep putting it back, or you get rid of it yourself and be done with the situation. Yes you shouldn't have to do either of those things but if you think your neighbour is suddenly going to grow a conscience and stop being insane you'll be waiting a long time.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
What do you mean? I want it on her property or chucked away. Is t it obvious. I don’t want it on my property neither does my neighbour. I don’t want a blocked path onto my property. She can do what she wants with it I don’t care just don’t keep it on other people’s properties. And I won’t be getting rid of her stuff as that’s literally what she wants to get out of that. She wants to annoy everyone around so they will get rid of it for her.
JeffSergeant@reddit
So put it on her property.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
I did just that and that’s why it ended up on my doorstep.
IhaveaDoberman@reddit

SnooTangerines3448@reddit
If it came back I'd tell her I'll be wood chipping it and inserting it in all the various new car holes that need cars come with.
CulturedClub@reddit
Ive hunted for this answer. Clearly inconveniencing her with minimal effort by Op is whats needed.
Ideally lean it against the door so that it tips forward into the house when the door is opened.
Gotta fight fire with fire.
Same_Seaworthiness74@reddit
I would have given her the benefit of the doubt to begin with, but after a couple of weeks and then being ignored? Game on!
ExcitementKooky418@reddit
Yeah that was my thinking too. I work for a housing association and we get lots of tenants that have mental and or physical health issues, as well as financial issues, which end.up with excess rubbish or bulky items that they are not able to get rid of. It's one thing if they're piled up as neatly as they can be in their property, it's an entirely different thing if they're actively inconveniencing other tenants by leaving it on their land
Bloatville@reddit
OP says this was done already, and that's when the neighbour moved it back and blocked her door with it.

Big_Chungussi69@reddit
that sucks OP, having to deal with nutters like this is a horrible experience. Have you tried talking to her in person before? what was that like?
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Of course we tried. She laughs at me. Last time I asked her politely to put her bins away as she leaves it sometimes conveniently next to my car for a whole week. She laughed at me and said “I thought it’s your was your responsibility to move my bins” as I have moved it few times in the past out of convenience as it’s really hard to reverse when it’s nearly on a pedestrians path. That was the first and last time I spoke to her. Thr way she laughed at me when she said that I lost it. I actually called a f cu and moved her bin behind her car. She has reported me and send a video of me to housing association. Thank god I did message them too same day so they actually sided with me on this but today when I spoke to the police they told me she has reported me to them on that occasion. It’s a nightmare I swear.
twoyellowhammers@reddit
She is unlawfully blocking access.
Private Nuisance: Deliberately blocking access to someone's home, or creating a situation where they cannot reasonably use their door, can be classed as a "private nuisance." This is a civil matter that can be addressed by a court-ordered injunction.
Property Boundaries: You cannot put up barriers, fences, or place large objects that block access to a neighbor’s entrance if that access is on your land but subject to a right of way.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Thank You that’s very helpful I will use that in my email with housing association and council.
Historical-Pea-5846@reddit

Dump it back in front of her fucking house. If she puts it back break it up so its in small enough pi3ces to fit in her car. With a hammer. In a way that it cannot be constructed again. It's been more than 6 months so you assumed it had been dumped right?
Sadly in this world if you let peiple walk all over you they will just continue to do so. You've given her plenty of time to show she is a decent and respectful person and she has failed. You dont owe her anything. You arent being the better person by letting her carry on, it's just dumb.

adammx125@reddit
I’m sure I’ve had 3 done for like £15 all in at screwfix, it’s really not expensive at all
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
It’s 150 for one key. That’s the kind of lock my door came with. It’s very secured. I got a new door replaced for free when my previous door bolts got stuck permanently in. The key looks very complicated and it’s very thick and solid not like any other standard key. I only know how much it costs as I needed one for my partner and I couldn’t afford to get one so he paid for it.
Kim-Jong-Long-Dong@reddit
If youve got a "high security" lock like ultion or similar, the manufacturer's website will give you a stupidly inflated price for replacements. A website like https://www.replacementkeys.co.uk/ or just go to timpsons. It DOES NOT COST £150.
throwmeaway758324@reddit

Yes iirc from when i ordered one for my dad, high street key cutters can do ultion Etc, but they have to have the correct machine for it something, which not all do.

Alternative_Car3818@reddit
Housing association does now come with these types of locks. You have to register them online and you can only order them online. We got two keys with the replacement door. And, yes, £150 is around the cost of a new key.
thelovelykyle@reddit
Of they are in a housing association the solution is to escalate via them.
ExcitementKooky418@reddit
That would be the case for 'suited' locks, where you'd also have a master key that the landlord/housing association can use for access, but that tends to be used for blocks of flats or groups of properties for vulnerable people like independent living schemes, sounds like OP is talking about a house so seems unlikely they'd be suited
adammx125@reddit
Yeah my mum had a situation like that once. Timmons were still able to cut a matching replacement though and we never had any issues with it.
Lavender_r_dragon@reddit
In the us 95% of keys are cheap but you can get expensive locks that are much more secure where the keys cost more. They are also sometimes used when renting cause the landlord can have them set up with a master key instead having to have a key for each apartment. (Worked for a locksmith for 2-3 years)
Alarmed-Cheetah-1221@reddit

Morganx27@reddit
Break it up, distribute it into her front and back garden as widely as possible. Even if she wants to chuck the bits back, she'll spend ages doing it. Get a camera installed outside your house, too. You need to deal with these things with a firm hand or they'll just escalate.
ManInGarage28@reddit

The only way to deal with people like this is to beat them at their own game.
Current_Thing2244@reddit
Just chuck it over the fence, what's she going to do realistically, report you for returning her property?
Demostravius4@reddit

True-Register-9403@reddit
Fill it with concrete, then get a few burly friends to help return it to her property.
Ravenser_Odd@reddit
Not a bad idea in principal, but maybe return it to her property and then fill it with concrete?
True-Register-9403@reddit
Yeah, fair enough...
Or wet sand - same weight but easier to fill up once moved, and makes a hell of a mess if you start dismantle...

Ask police for a Good Neighbour Contract or an Acceptable Behaviour Contract. It's the start of a process, but they're probably choosing to overlook it.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Yes someone suggested that I will definitely ask them about it. I’m just anxiously waiting for her to turn up from work. She will be here in about 15 min and I’m already shaking.
Tucano21@reddit
The first sign that they are anything but pleasant, call police. Mention the threatening behaviour, that can be just words or tone, no need for anything physical.
Maintain the high ground, don't get dragged down to their level.
DeathGuard1978@reddit
I recall someone being advised to keep a written record of their neighbours behaviour for a civil matter. I'd also keep dragging the shed back to her property.
maldax_@reddit
Put it on FB for free to collector
Ok_Cow_3431@reddit
Do you ask Reddit how to get dressed for the day? Just throw it back onto her property
The effort taken measuring the path, taking photos and writing this post tells me everything. She thinks youre a push over, stop letting her walk all over you
earthgold@reddit
Ask r/legaladviceUK.
To mitigate the impact in the meantime, keep your buns in a bread bin like everyone else.
MysticRayne13@reddit
Sledgehammer and then build a fence
bix2020@reddit
Put it out in the street and call it fly tipping.
Confident_Animal8200@reddit
I would put it back on her land a few times. After maybe the 3rd I’d smash it to bits and post all the bits through her letterbox.
StuartHunt@reddit
If her property has been dumped on yours contact your local council environmental health team, as it's fly tipping and illegal.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
I have done all of those things you told me to do. Housing association done nothing. Council said it’s a civil issue, fire department I contacted on Good Friday so their lines are shut till Tuesday. I left them a message though. Now it’s not so much of an issue as the shed is not blocking my garden anymore. It’s absolutely bonkers.
oculus_miffed@reddit
I say just burn it. Its gone, you dont have to worry about it again. Just make sure the wind is blowing her way and that her windows are open
DefinitelyNotEmu@reddit
If it is on your property turn it into kindling with an axe
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Yes but then I’m doing her a favour of removing it. And apart from that she might report me for destroying her property.
DavidFosterLawless@reddit
If it's on your land and you haven't agreed to store it there it's not her property?
Possiblyreef@reddit
Technically that would make OP an involuntary bailee but that's a bit more /r/LegalAdviceUK
DavidFosterLawless@reddit
Had not heard of this. Thanks for posting. Sounds like a right quagmire.
DiDiPLF@reddit
Unfortunately not. You can't steal or destroy anyone's else's stuff without giving them notice.
rebelallianxe@reddit
Is it still her stuff if she keeps giving it back to OP? I'd take to to the tip!
Forsaken-Yogurt-@reddit
You can if they have blocked you into your house with it
Forsaken-Yogurt-@reddit
She can't report you for destroying things she is fly tipping. Kindling is a peaceful option.
If you aren't willing to go scorched earth on her it really is worse sidestepping the issue by just disposing of it
IhaveaDoberman@reddit
"It's a horrible inconvenience to me, but if I do it, then I'm helping her sort out her mess".
Clearly not that much of an inconvenience if you're gonna get so stuck up on the bloody minded approach.
TheFirstGlugOfWine@reddit
This may not be revengeful at all but you could just ask her if she wants some help getting rid of it. Yes you’ll have to do some work but it would solve the problem and may even build bridges? I’d only go down this road myself because I’m so conflict avoidant. It feels wrong but if it stops you being stressed, it might be worth a shot.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
Yes because you’re a normal person. That’s what my neighbour did she offered her help and she said she doesn’t need it just left it there. The problem is she will put more stuff out as she did in the past and I did end up throwing it now it’s an entirely different t issue as it’s big and I’m fed up.
TheFirstGlugOfWine@reddit
Ahh fair enough. You’re right to be totally pissed off. I guess then I agree with what others have said and just keep putting it into front of her door (leaning it on the door so it falls in when she opens it). Failing that, smash it to bits
VicusLucis@reddit
If it's on your property for an extended period of time and you've asked her to take it away but she's refused, it's not her property anymore. Destroy it, or throw it into her garden. They're the two options you should be taking. End of.
SaltyName8341@reddit
The property she illegally tipped on your property, yeah let's see what the police say about that
DefinitelyNotEmu@reddit
> but then I’m doing her a favour of removing it.
You are gaining kindling for your wood burning stove
Beneficial-Run9033@reddit
If she is banging on your door, record it on your phone, then call the police again. Inform them you feel threatened and unsafe and that you want to document the events so that you can file a restraining order keeping her from your property.
PlaneWar203@reddit
Also maybe report it as a fire risk of it's blocking your exit.
lookeo@reddit
Smash it to pieces with a crowbar, releasing the pent up anger and it's just the right size for her to put in her car, which she previously claimed she couldn't. I've taken full sofas, fridges, freezers, doors etc in my car to the tip. Smashing it up to get it to fit in is great fun!
rebelallianxe@reddit
Honestly that would probably fit in the back of our big car so I'd take it to the tip and be done with it. She clearly doesn't want it anymore.
Ok_Comfortable3083@reddit
That would make a lovely new planter for your garden.
Tkddaduk@reddit
I’d throw it into her back garden, if she starts banging your doors and windows, that’s when you call the police. Make to call so the dispatcher can hear the commotion over the phone.
Visionary_87@reddit
That shit is getting dumped back over her fence so fast if she did this to me. She's obviously not going to deal with it after a year so she can take it back whether she likes it or not.
LTP-N@reddit
Camera. Camera's everywhere.
ClaryClarysage@reddit
Stick it in front of her front door, then put a camera up. If she moves it back onto your property again you have evidence. Any chance of you getting a fence up to keep her out or is it not set up that way? Could always ask for a restraining order to keep her off your property, then record every time she breaks it. Once you have actual evidence you'll be able to take it further.
Mrs_B-@reddit
Give some local kids a tenner to come smash it up and dump it over her fence.
SeaIndependent5188@reddit
List it on freecycle or fb marketplace - probably get someone to come round and pick it up for free! Otherwise just take it apart and put it in the bin.
Express_Fruit_6069@reddit
Go block her front door with it instead
Representative-Ear26@reddit
It seems like she doesn't want the shed? You shouldn't have to, but are you in a position to just take it to the tip yourself. It seems like such a hassle trying to deal with other avenues.
Double check with her she doesn't want it first of course and then just remove it yourself, she is being ridiculous. I'm surprised your housing association hasn't been more proactive though.
hello-its-G@reddit
Says it doesn't fit in their car to get rid of it? Smash it up and throw the pieces into their garden. Now they can easily fit all the smashed bits of wood and nails into their car. I hope it doesn't rip any of the car interior or scratch/cut them in any way when loading and unloading.
JiggerJay@reddit
Make it easy for her, take a sledgehammer to it and smash it into pieces and leave it by her front door

Euphoric_Wish_8293@reddit
How OP chooses to deal with conflict is upto them. I'm not here to judge them. My comment is solely aimed at the audacity of the shed-woman.
Big_Chungussi69@reddit
im also pretty sure OP is a karma farmer, no other posts than this. has made ridiculous replies like it costs them £150 to get a key cut. We all been fooled brother
Euphoric_Wish_8293@reddit
I didn't really think to check. That price is nonsense, you may have a point.
Big_Chungussi69@reddit
not to mention the tape measurement picture doesnt even add up to the first picture of the shed being in front of what seems like a main doorway. AI picture probably lmao
Euphoric_Wish_8293@reddit
It's obviously not AI pictures. The tape measure picture is to highlight the space they have due to the bins presumably, which was a different gripe in the post.
TangerineCassidy@reddit
Before anything else recommended on here, if you don't already have them you should absolutely install a bunch of motion activated security cameras around your property.
IanM50@reddit
If it is a fire hazard, your local fire service will happily help. Don't ring them on 999, they have a local number, or go to the fire station and talk to them.
hill3786@reddit

addietahlia@reddit
You are a better person than me because i would be telling her I'd shove it up her arse if she doesn't shift it pronto!!! That and throwing it back over her garden fence with a note saying get rid pf ur own shit!! How f@@king rude!!!!!

jeremybeadlesfingers@reddit
Put it back on her property. When it moves, do it again. And again. And again.
rollo_read@reddit

LambonaHam@reddit
Either report it as fly tipping, or just put it in her yard. You're just returning misplaced property.
Existing_Physics_888@reddit

Danglyweed@reddit

NightKnight96@reddit
It’s on your land and she won’t remove it? Sounds like you’re an involuntary bailee of her property.
Ask her to remove it or do it yourself at her expense. Might need a sledgehammer to break it down so it fits in your car.
DutchOfBurdock@reddit

Independent-Tip-8728@reddit
Speak softly but carry a big fucking stick.

Talking_Gibberish@reddit
I would smash it to bits and post the little bits in her letter box, big bits over the fence into her garden. She's long past taking the piss now, drastic measures required.
Ruskythegreat@reddit
I would put it on her drive then use some frame fixings to screw it down to the floor!
Capable-Mulberry4138@reddit
...what shed?
No_Doughnut_3315@reddit
If she comes banging on your door at night, definitely get that in camera for your harassment case.
I would remove the shed to her property one more time. Leave a note or tell her in person that this belongs to her, you dont want it on your property, and if you find it blocking your way again, you will have to escalate the matter.
If she brings it back and I was in your shoes, she wouldnt be seeing that shed again. Destroy it, dismantle, take it to the tip if you have the means, but dont keep playing this game of back and forth. She enjoys being a bully, sometimes you have to talk the same language as these idiots to make them understand they are messing with the wrong person. Your shit on my property =destroyed. Even dummies like her will get the message.
your-a-bellend@reddit
Think that last bits terrible advice. If the neighbour is a bully, how are you teaching them that you’re not the person to mess with, by doing what the bully actual wants? Neighbours got some shit, can’t be arsed to get rid of it now knows she can just dump it outside her house again, bit of back and forth, be aggressive and then she will end up in same situation.
No_Doughnut_3315@reddit
Maybe, but I dont think what a bully likes is someone standing up to them and fighting fire with fire. They like to dominate people and get off on the idea of the other person cowering in their house, too afraid to say anything.
your-a-bellend@reddit
But you’re not standing up to them. The bully has a shed, can’t be arsed getting rid of it, so pushes it on to other peoples property so in her eyes it’s there problem. Which ever neighbour buckles and gets rid of her shit for her, has not stood up to her. She’s done what the bully wants.
ExcitementKooky418@reddit
Yes if nothing else gets a results move it yourself, or pay someone to do it (AnyJunk.co.uk are quite good). You could try invoicing her for it, or taking it to small claims court for the cost and inconvenience, though I'm not sure how far you'd get with that
notouttolunch@reddit
Probably quite a long way. There are two neighbours inconvenienced here.
LoveBeBrave@reddit
She doesn’t want the shed, that’s why she’s leaving it on someone else’s driveway.
zanz38@reddit
I am surprised you can't get them for fly tipping.
You at a stretch might be able to pursue a ASBO.
You might just be in a game of back and forth of verbal please stop and physical moving it back onto their side
IhaveaDoberman@reddit
I'm sorry, but just move the fucking shed.
Yes it's ultimately her responsibility. But it's inconveniencing you and she's clearly not going to do anything about it.
So put on your grown up pants, suck it up, and do something about it yourself.
The fact your other neighbours were too precious to actually do something about it themselves for the best part of a year is their problem.
jszumo@reddit
As someone with a trouble neighbor I can’t believe these replies. If your life is already this hard because of them, imagine how much worse it would be if you poked the bear?! “Just throw it back over fuck them” will literally ruin your life?!
One-Mud7175@reddit
There is one clear answer here and it’s to stop being a wimp about it. Throw it on her property. If it comes back, smash it up and throw it back. Some things just need some confrontation and you and your other neighbour need to let her know she’s not the boss. It’s not that complicated. She keeps doing it because none of you do anything about it. Grow up.
CertainJudgment5045@reddit
Block her driveway with your car.
qash001@reddit
Just destroy the shed, dispose of it and if she asks where it is just tell her she obviously didn't want it and it was just being thrown about as junk so you got rid of it for her.
robb0216@reddit
Why would you give in to a disgusting bully like that and do exactly what she wants you to? It'll only get worse from there (as if it isn't bad enough already).
qash001@reddit
Ok so just do nothing and keep the shed. OP is blocking all suggestions from others so not sure what else you think can be done.
robb0216@reddit
Bit of a gap between do nothing about it, or dispose of it because she can't be arsed to do it herself. Can't be hard to shift it in front of her own door, or on her drive, in her garden etc. And if they're truly terrified of the confrontation that might bring, many here have suggested the proper reporting procedures to put the onus back onto her
cdh79@reddit
I'd invest in some rope and drag the thing a long way away and dump it. I'd probably get rid of the shed too.
Serious_Confusion572@reddit
Report it as fly tipping, even if the local / parish council don’t have proof who has done it they will likely take it away. I had something similar happen before and just reported it.
FitSolution2882@reddit
I would be smashing it up and laying the mess infront of her door
krypto-pscyho-chimp@reddit
Dump in her garden. Topped with a burning pile of shit.
She is unhinged and you've let her get away with too much already.
TeenVirginiaWoolf@reddit
I hear that confrontation and possibly angering her is scary, she does sound scary. However, she is already harassing you and banging on your windows. That behavior can either come to a head by throwing this thing back into her yard, or be a slow trickle of stress every time someone slightly moves the thing. You have police reports, your neighbors have also had similar trouble with her. Bite the damn bullet and take a stand. If she cant take the shit she dishes to others fuck her. Let her be miserable. Sounds like you're comfortable calling the cops, so do that after she pitches a fit seeing the shed was tossed back into her yard. I also cant imagine why screaming and banging on your neighbor's windows isn't a legal offense.
Horror_Proof_ish@reddit
Break it into pieces and throw it around her back garden or place the piece under her car
LargeLetter1@reddit
Have you spoken to your Housing Association about her behaviour and let them know about the police intervention?
Frankly it’s such bonkers behaviour I’m willing to bet there are other tenancy issues with her.
Good luck sorting it out.
Jokersxi@reddit

No-Willingness-4097@reddit

TheEverCuriousCat@reddit
Doesn't solve the pass-the-shed problem but might she be interested in learning more about scientology? As your good deed for the year, you might arrange for her to receive some information - anonymously of course, good deeds shouldn't be bragged about
Mr_Reaper__@reddit
Buy a cheap crowbar from screwfix and break it down into firewood or spare timber (the feather board cladding makes great flowerbed edging...), it won't be very well held together so it won't take much work.
Problem is solved then, no more shed so no more access issues or anything to fight over. You holding a crowbar will significantly reduce the risk of them being confrontational whilst you're doing it. And ultimately you're solving their problem of getting rid of the shed, so they're unlikely to be that upset. Plus a bit of destruction therapy is good for your mental health.
isntitdotty@reddit (OP)
But that what she wants. She has done it so I would get rid of it for her as she can’t be asked. I’m not going to do her any more favours. We had issues with her for years. I had once left a small piece of glass behind my bin and she reported it as hazard. It was there probably for a week it was tucked away behind my bin not causing any problems. I had a sticker for it to be removed within days and I have done obviously immediately but a whole bloody shed is dumped on my neighbours property for 10 months and nothing gets done now it’s blocking mine. It’s out of order she even complained about the same neighbour, that she’s left that shed on her drive, that she had 2 bags of cloths on her drive tucked in in a corner I swear she told me she’s got a letter to remove it. I don’t even know how she gets all her things sorted and I can’t do anything.
deinglemacbarlo@reddit
I think this is the only answer that gets you moving on with your life.
Put on your cheeriest smile, make a big song and dance as you break it down and dispose of it. It’ll probably even fit in your bin if you break it down small enough. Make it look like it hasn’t inconvenienced you at all. Headphones on, sing a song.
You can reason with these people, they’re irrational. It’ll never end otherwise.
stuffcrow@reddit
It would be a shame if some hoodlum or ne'er-do-well broke into your garden and decided to destroy the shed that's on your property or just steal it.
Massive shame that you wouldn't see who did it either.
If she's worried about the security of her property, then she shouldn't abandon it on someone else's.
ChaosHugs@reddit
Put if back on her property. But first find some fox shit and smear it over the edges
Horror-Permission511@reddit
I'd say, dismantle the shed and put it aside into some sort of a box. Technically, the shed would still be there, just in parts. It does look damaged as it is now and clearly the neighbour in the case doesn't care about it whatsoever. Some people just love being a-holes, I suppose
peteyourdoom@reddit

jrlly27@reddit
Stick a sign up in front of your house saying items and vehicles are not permitted and may be removed. State that the land owners take no responsibility for damages and it’s left at owners risk. Also leave a sign saying no fly tipping.
Smash the shed up and post the pieces through the letterbox.
Send them an invoice for the purchase of the tools and £50 labor too.
If they put the bits back in front of your home, report them for fly tipping.
