So I have everything but a gpu currently, I have around $500 for the gpu and not much more. I plan to play in 1080p and don’t care to upgrade to 1440p.
Specs:
9800x3d
thermalright phantom spirit
asus b850
32gb ddr5
2tb ssd
montech air 903 max
montech century 2 850w

Definitely look into getting a 9060 XT or a used 5070, Newegg is selling brand new 9060 XTs, however I'd personally recommend going Nvidia for DLSS
YOURNAMEGG@reddit
Why not 5060ti 16gig?
InsomniacSpider-Man@reddit
5070 is faster than the 5060 Ti, the 60 Ti just has more vram
ADB225@reddit
It all depends on what you want to play and how well as well. We can mention the RX 9060XT, a RX 9070, a $540 RTX 5060Ti 16Gb edition. Heck there is even a new $400 RX 7700XT and a new $500 RX 7800XT listed

I play anything really, stable 60 fps on medium settings would be an upgrade from my xbox one
ADB225@reddit
If you can find a good used mentioned card (RTX 5060Ti16Gb , RTX 5070) on Marketplace etc within your budget, and it has a good amt of warranty left and is testable, then Id inquire and go that route. If you want it to be brand new, then Newegg has 2 cards worth mention. A $450 Sapphire Pulse RX 9060XT 16Gb edition OR another PC Partner group company called Onyx and their $290 Intel ARC B580.
My suggestion is you look at which games you play, and consider most demanding as fr as graphics, then find comparisons. If your only playing 1080p, you may want to delve into 1440p later so best to compare that as well
ADB225@reddit
Any of the cards mentioned would be a massive uptick. Heck even an Intel ARC B580 would be up there.
khironinja@reddit
Yeah honestly if that's all they want then a B580 would clear a lot of games.
But then the CPU is definitely overkill for a goal like that.
ADB225@reddit
True..I had the lists I made and submitted prior to reading their comment.
This vote system here is funny too. I make mention of cards and prices and get downvoted for it..lol.
khironinja@reddit
That's just how Reddit is. I had to learn to just stop caring because people will downvote you for any reason.
For the record, I'm one of the two UP votes.
Thanks for your comment and trying to help anyways.

You as well
Moving4Motion@reddit
9060 xt 16gb. Then get a 1440p 32 inch curved and thank me later.
iIillIiillilIIlllIi@reddit
32 1440p is way too pixelated personally, even 27 at 1440 is yucky now after getting into 4k
Moving4Motion@reddit
Yeah I imagine so, you can't go back once you go up! I'm not going to 4k, just can't afford it.
ScottyStellar@reddit
9800x3d is a beast, why did you choose that?
prepare4magic@reddit
9060 XT would be good for you or 5070 if you can find someone selling it used on reddit
ScottyStellar@reddit
Get the 9060xt is my recommendation I just got one myself for same thing, 1080 no need for higher. 16gb version will keep you relevant longer but honestly 8gb is fine for now
ScottyStellar@reddit
In US the sapphire pulse 9060xt is around $430-450 on Amazon
GreatClear@reddit
Would put rx 9070 (non xt) version in the mix . Marketplace - seen them go around 500-550 can negotiate etc
Mindless_Software_86@reddit
I have a MSI 5070 for sale if you want one. Just upgraded to the 5080. I don't have the box with it but I can ship it in the 5080 box. Will provide pics inbox me if you want. 5070 is only 2 months old
khironinja@reddit
Honestly I think you might have spent a bit too much on the CPU that should have went to the GPU.
Could have gotten a 9070XT instead but your best choice now is a 9060XT 16GB.
TiberiusPrimeXIII@reddit
Walmart has a pny 5060ti for under $400.
Ok-Use-8592@reddit
9060XT 16 GB, has enough vram for 1440P, might need a bit of upscaling but it has the headroom for it. Suggest delaying upgrade by a few months for a 9070XT instead to avoid CPU bottleneck
jamesmyspace@reddit
you will be playing 1440p for sure,so just to be safe any rtx 40 series will do,if you got the money high vram for gpu is preferable.
jetownsu@reddit
9060 xt
GIGASHORTER@reddit
Rtx 3080 ti. could get one for $450usd or so on the used market. It has never let me down.
Wise-Log-2897@reddit
So you payd for a 9800x3d and cheap out on the gpu? Why tho?
North-Ad-2928@reddit (OP)
Was a birthday gift, didn’t plan on getting a 9800x3d I was settled on a 9600x originally
BeachFishing@reddit
Personally I’d go used 5070. Over seen several for $500 on marketplace.

$500 usd, cad, or aud?
North-Ad-2928@reddit (OP)

4070 super or 9060 xt 16gb are the only two cards worth buying in your budget imo, going used might be able to get you a rx 9070 or 5070
imhereforshad@reddit
if you settle now, youll want to upgrade later when you realize 1440p is where your system should be at with a 9800x3d. id suggest splurging on a high end card
BilboShaggins429@reddit
How much is an Rx 9070?
North-Ad-2928@reddit (OP)
Looks like $620 at the cheapest
