Move house and forget about it.
knightsbridge-@reddit
You can't, really. Plants will grow. It's what they do.
All you can do is remove it when it appears, understanding that it'll come back eventually.
Green-Ad6717@reddit
Moss is cool as heck đđŸ
NoIndependent9192@reddit
Let more sunlight into the area.
palpatineforever@reddit
buy some very expensive moss that you want to grow there instead, try to grow this.
then nothing will grow.
CottontailTheBun@reddit
Some of those vines with purple flowers would look really nice
Prestigious_Light_75@reddit
Purple haze?
Shitsinhandandclaps@reddit
Same with grass. Shit grows in my plant pots like nobodyâs business. But on the lawn thereâs patches itâll never grow.
tkproject@reddit
Put yoghurt all over the wall and make it a feature
David_Shotokan@reddit
Would involve a lot of uranium..... otherwise. .. nature will do its thing and try to reclaim everything we clean.
BlackBacked_Jackal@reddit
Sell the house
Milam1996@reddit
Knock down the wall.
Moss spores are in the air. They float around and stick to dark wet surfaces. Gardens are for flexing on poor people who canât have a garden (their entire reason for existing historically). No shock that flexing requires maintenance. Get a scrub brush once every month or so and do some light scrubbing with soap and water.
MountainMuffin1980@reddit
What the FUCK are you talking about? Gardens in one form or another have existed for thousands of years. Are you thinking of big ornamental gardens?
Milam1996@reddit
Gardens that arenât veg/herbs and are just to look pretty are for flexing exclusively.
DependentRounders934@reddit
People might just enjoy sitting among the flowers

My stepson does a lot of outdoor painting, rendering, etc. He uses ProGreen products for jobs where this is a problem. They are a bit pricey but this one looks very reasonable. And it does not have harsh chemicals which his customers prefer. Me? I just scrub everything down with swimming pool strength bleach. But that's just me.
MossOff Chemical Free Multi Surface Cleaner, also removes algae and grime
mr_rustic@reddit
I was thinking a bottle of bleach with a sprayer. Bleach kills everything Iâve ever sprayed with it.
Illustrious-Eye1673@reddit
Most UK bleach you get alongside household cleaning items is a thick sudsy bleach and less than 5% chlorine bleach. So I end up using a lot and scrubbing. Which is OK for small jobs, cleaning planters, etc.
If I am doing a large area and want to spray with a pump device, I use swimming pool bleach. It's thin and a higher chlorine content (up to 15%) that you can dilute depending on how bad the area is you want to treat.
Eclectika@reddit
I used to live in a terrace where the back of the house was north facing and this was a problem as the moss would get so thick that walking was a slip hazard.
I bought this. It looks like it's been pulled from sale but there are a few retailers still selling it. It is incredibly effective - seriously, I was blown away by how good it was. all you need is a pump sprayer.

Jayâs fluid is the answer to your question, but the answer to your problem is to embrace the beautiful moss, which accents the otherwise stark and soulless brick.
Big_Chungussi69@reddit
could probably put some brick sealant on it, but that may cause its own problems in the future as it weathers
Weak-Newt-5853@reddit
Passive agrassion.
veryblocky@reddit
Have you tried asking it nicely?
Deep_Top8433@reddit
Apparently âWet and Forgetâ is just what you need, itâs a long lasting biocide you spray onto the wall.
LogicalMeerkat@reddit
there's something quiet disturbing about the word biocide.
RequiemWasTaken@reddit
Homicide but for plants...
Success_With_Lettuce@reddit
Yeah, it doesnât have the impact off the tongue, or read itâs meaning is worthy of.
Hythy@reddit
Try pointing the wall south, that should fix it.

Turn it around so it faces the sun?

ChunkyLover500@reddit
Difficult to stop. Youâll have to make the moss of it Iâm afraid

Nuke it from orbit-- it's the only way to be sure

garden brush / jetwash every few months
simundo86@reddit
Spray wet and forget on the wall
handtoglandwombat@reddit
Thatâs a moss thriving zone. Thereâs always going to be a tiny amount of moisture seeping out of the porous parts on the side of that raised platform.
Please consider this suggestion: instead of trying to eradicate the moss, embrace it. Make it a feature. Moss can be really beautiful and it wonât harm the wall like creeping plants would.
Groffulon@reddit
Bros complaining about moss on his walls when heâs too lazy to jet wash his patio smdhâŠ
Idk maybe clean shit once in a while⊠with you guessed it a jet washer.
Also read a book ffs you canât permanently and DO NOT use awful chemicals itâs a damp shaded retaining wall with moisture vents. Youâre always going to get moss. Jet wash the wall once a year after the winter or be a normal person and let it age naturally.
SheffDus@reddit
Accept it.
behemuffin@reddit
Just enjoy the moss, it's part of the garden.
"Oh no! Green things in my outdoor space đ±"Â
FrankSarcasm@reddit
If you spray a soda crystals solution that will safely kill it.
Fullchimp@reddit
Stop peeing on it, all the nitrates, itâs not called âliquid goldâ for no reason.
ARobertNotABob@reddit
Judging by the rotted wood, I'd say there's a drainage problem from next door, below the line of those run-offs.
Bubbly-Weakness-4788@reddit
Have you used a patio cleaner whilst you are jet washing or just water?
MyGirlTookMyWardrobe@reddit
Hire a security guard to watch over it?
NortonBurns@reddit
Wet & Forget.
I haven't had mine down long enough to see how it performs long-term, but it got rid of all the green on my path almost overnight. The results are supposed to last a year before you need to reapply.
Outraged_Chihuahua@reddit
Does it stop growing if you paint it? My wall has moss and is just bare brick, my neighbour painted his and has no moss. He could just clean it more than I do though lol.
fake_cheese@reddit
Put some at the top so it grows down the wall.
Shitsinhandandclaps@reddit
I donât think you can âstopâ it. Moss will grow on almost anything if itâs in the shade.
