Anyone Remember the Osaka Buffet on Park and Preston?

Does anyone remember the Osaka Buffet on Park and Preston? It is now a Chili's Restaurant but before that, it was Osaka. I was looking for Asian buffets in the area, and I had flashbacks to Osaka. They were there since the early 2000s and then they closed around 2019.
They had a decent sushi selection and an awesome Teppanyaki section (it is actually not "Hibachi"). I remember the ambience inside. It was really cozy and felt very traditionally Japanese, unlike other buffets that feel "cold" and have basic interiors. Thank you for the memories Osaka!

Hell yeah that place slapped! Got so fat I couldn't even walk down the front ramp.

Before that it was a great table service Chinese restaurant. I think it was August Moon but I may be wrong about the name.
w633@reddit
No it's called "Garden", August Moon was at park and 75.
Excellent_Bet3931@reddit
This is correct. I went into labor at August Moon on 75. I also remember Osaka, sushi was so mysterious back then.

Why am I thinking it was a Red lobster before that? Lived on that corner back in 96-97
dogsop@reddit
Possible, 96 was when I got to Plano. I lived off of 75.
Funkymusic@reddit
You are correct it was August Moon

There used to be a really nice sushi place that is currently Kenny's East Coast Pizza. That place was bomb.
I think there used to be a Tokyo one at Park in Preston back in the day. This would be like 2003
I miss the bennigans

that was the first, and last, place I ate uni. I loved the big wooden boats they used for sushi!

Awaji! my aunt owned it, great place, lots of good memories
bionicbrady@reddit
No kidding!! We used to party at blue goose and then walk up to Awaji and do like 4 rounds on sake bombs.
The sushi was really good too. 100% amazing and I love the layout of the place. It was nice. I miss it.
If you Don't mind me asking why did it close?

Osama and japan house were my two sushi buffet places to visit. I think I saw a Japan house somewhere else in the metroplex and I thought it might be the same place relocated but can't remember where I saw it
Nowadays, there are more Korean BBQ and other places that might provide extra foods like sushi. I don't know the quality because I never was a person who noticed much differences but those are some options now

I love this place (Tokyo One) been there 30+ times
sgred23@reddit
How is it compared to the Tokyo One in Addison city (years ago)?
acaii@reddit
Well they moved to 75 and Spring Creek. It’s called Tokyo One Sushi and Grill. And their addison location has the same vibe as the old Plano one - it’s called Osaka Sushi (previously was Tokyo One at this location).
sgred23@reddit
The original Tokyo One in Addison was really good. Is this Tokyo One on 75 now owned by the same owner as the Tokyo one in Addison?
acaii@reddit
I believe so. It’s all the exact same stuff. I also believe I see one of the mgrs/owners that’s always been around at those locations.
sgred23@reddit
Good to know. Thanks!!!. I’ll check it out.

It was a China Coast before. China Coast was a failed casual dining concept by Darden restaurants.
