Cole_Slaw42@reddit
welp, i want one now. thanks.
Kleoes@reddit
With a WHAT canopy?
Ok-Currency-1628@reddit (OP)
Jack off, has 4 jacking legs that slide into holes on the frame. Turn the handle and it lifts the canopy up, disconnect power and drive the vehicle out from underneath leaving the canopy behind.
PonyThug@reddit
I’ve never seen someone refer to a truck topper or truck camper as a canopy. I thought you mentioned the 270 swing out awning /canopy lol.
Almost all of the larger/full size truck campers have the jack system like that to drive away. Never seen it on the little topper tho

Just what they’re called here in Australia. I get how it may sound to the American ear, although did not think about it until I made the post lol.
usnmustanger@reddit
So… does “jack off” not carry the same slang meaning down under?
Ziggytaurus@reddit
Thats fuckin cool
driftmunkey@reddit
Jack off has a whole other meaning in the US lol.
JDBerezansky@reddit
You could probably jack off under it.

This reminds me of the dirty 30, from 4wd 24/7 channel on YouTube. Nice build!
Ok-Currency-1628@reddit (OP)
This is probably the highest level of praise I could have ever received.
To be compared to such a legendary build….
idigholesnow@reddit
Better than a jack of canape
Ok-Currency-1628@reddit (OP)
Incredible 😂
El_Dentistador@reddit
What you do in your canopy is your business
thesnebby@reddit
Can you do other things with the canopy?
Ok-Currency-1628@reddit (OP)
That’s the idea with the RTT being on over centre fasteners. So if I do wish to unpack the canopy and use for work and have to keep tools locked in the Ute I can do, but for the most part, it’s filled with camping stuff.
Only if I’m going away do I need to store tools in the vehicle.
MyCatsNameIsKlaus@reddit
When jacking off the canopy, how quickly does it take to erect?
Ok-Currency-1628@reddit (OP)
It’s surprisingly fast…
Hurricaneshand@reddit
You know you're glamping when you have an entire canopy dedicated just to that
Jaggerdadog@reddit
The jack shack.
Adorable_Swing_2150@reddit
The versatility is the real luxury here. I run a similar setup — removable RTT plus a separate shell for cold weather — and being able to park the tent on the trailer for longer trips while daily-driving the vehicle is a game changer. Buddy heater + canvas makes it livable way past shoulder season.
Ok-Currency-1628@reddit (OP)
I didn’t realise how useful it would be, but lugging your entire touring setup around on your daily driver gets old fast, the ability to remove it all without disassembling everything, or just having to unpack everything every time. It can stay in the garage on its legs, good to go for the next trip.
Dive underneath, lower it down and off you go.
Adorable_Swing_2150@reddit
Exactly — daily driver duty while the gear stays mission-ready on its legs. No reassembly, no repacking. That's the real win for short-notice trips.
bushidocowboy@reddit
Is that you using the Jack off canopy in the sixth photo?
Ok-Currency-1628@reddit (OP)
That’s my Mrs checking her crochet pattern on her phone. I’m flattered you think my member is that long lol.
Longjumping_Sea_1325@reddit
Luxury. I usually just have a jack-off stump.

It is a crime the 79 series isn't in the US.
