Dang that’s a long pistol. Is there a purpose or just some hucklebuck shiz you threw together? I’m genuinely curious

The 500mag is the hunter model and its just a monster gun to tame a monster cartridge. The mk4 is for long range pistol shooting and it is definitely more accurate/consistent. Its also Kinda some hucklebuck shiz too though lol

Reminds me of my dick….if it was longer

Talk to me about that o/u back there. I'm trying to figure out something for clays and you have good guns. So I trust you.

There's plenty of people with the 'just as good' attitude about buying a Turkshit O/U off poormetto for $600, but they need not the fudds. You see, fudds are the biggest cheapasses around and love them some poor people shit like Springfield XDs and Kel-Tec P17s, but they won't touch Turkshit O/Us.
There's a reason it spooks them, and it's mostly proprietary chokes that you may never find replacements for and are the last thing the shot touches, making them the most critical for patterning. Firing pins can protrude from the action when open, resulting in the barrels guillotining it and shutting you down for not just the day, but until you can figure out how those Khyber Pass MFs used a goat-powered grinder to stuff a MIM firing pin in there. Over time, the pot metal action will deform due to lack of support (because that requires precision) and not lock up strongly, rapidly getting worse like a UAE Tesla battery, and no one will fix it.
From searching the archives of fudds past, it seems the ongoing consensus is the absolute bare-assed minimum of quality for a shotgun that will go 50,000 shells before needing action work, having good and reliable chokes, and not being a prime candidate for the hacksaw Olympics is a Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon. Amidst their grumbling, the Browning Citori was identified as the lowest these fudds would "slum it", with a few individuals taking a beating for declaring their love for the CZ Turkshit O/Us.
In short, there is an acknowledgement that raiding a fudd estate sale and making off with a Citori would be the cheapest way to get an "acceptable" starter clay gun. I found that the people selling them were actively engaged in the consumption of illicit substances previously distributed by the CIA into predominantly minority neighborhoods and it was within $100 to just buy a NIB Citori with synthetic furniture. This was not only a monetary savings, but it angers the fudds to see something that isn't wood on a sporting gun, and I ain't got the time to baby wood furniture, so why would I pay >$300 more for that shit?

Unfortunately shotguns are the one of the things that I am not very well versed in. It is a Yildiz Legacy HPS from Academy. It is in 12ga and the steel receiver which is the difference between the HP and HPS models and it has the slightly nicer wood. It was like 600 bucks I think and its honestly a fine gun to learn and shoot skeet and trap with (coming from a guy that sucks at it lol). I beat the hell out of it since it was a cheap OU and all and it has definitely stood up to the abuse I can say that for sure!

460, or 500? I fucking love the XVR.
Leather-Barnacle4802@reddit (OP)
500! Love it so far! I've only shot 20 rnds through it but those 20 were awesome!
DblDtchRddr@reddit
Fuck yeah nice. Everything I've looked at says they feel the same to shoot (500 has heavier bullet, 460 has higher speed), so I went with the 460 so I could shoot 454 and 45LC out of it too. It's a comically fun wheelgun.

"Comically fun wheelgun" is a perfect description! 460 is definitely the more versatile choice. This one was just on a deal at my LGS.

😂😂😂 I now have 3 different uppers with 3 different barrel lengths for it and I can say that they are 300% fun!
