Help with a headlight issue. Anyone seen this before?

My son has a HiKeep K6L that needed a headlight/horn. Ordered a universal 3 pin (orange connector) headlight and horn and installed it. Headlight won’t come on when the button is pressed but the tail light will. Horn works but doesn’t work if the headlight button is on. Installed the adapter cable that states “use this if the headlight and horn done work” now the headlight and tail light will light up when you press the horn button but still not when the headlight button is pressed. Don’t think it’s anything with the headlight button since the taillight works. Checked it with a volt meter and everything is working in theory. Momentary 48v at the horn pin, 48v at the headlight pin with the headlight button on, and the horn has 48v when pressed with the headlight on. Gotta be a defective light right?

Dont use controller light outputs. They're generally very weak and can damage the controller. Go with a dedicated 12v buck and motorcycle accessories.

omg my dad had the same issue with his ebike! turned out the wiring was backwards in the connector, might be worth checking if the pins are in the right order.
