I liked him as a bit part in what was a very good show I watched religiously. Once it became basically “The Urkel Show” where everything was magic plots disguised as science, I gave up. It was absurd and yet somehow also boring because it lacked self-awareness.
It’s extremely effective when the apprentice has been struggling for 10 minutes and you walk up solve the problem in 10 seconds while they look dumbstruck you do the Urkel

If you had a gun to my head I couldn’t do this dance. But I hated Urkel and mostly didn’t watch the show because of him.

Have you watched the Key and Peele skits with Urkel as the tyrant of the Family Matters set?

Bea Arthur was a sport!
horusthesundog@reddit
I’m wondering if she had fun, or as soon as she got backstage she was thinking “I need a new manager”
Apprehensive_Hat8986@reddit
Given that she left golden girls because she couldn't put up with Betty White... (at least, so I've read)
Inconspicuous_Shart@reddit
She is 61 here. For reference Sandra bullock, Melissa tomei, and Courtney Cox are all 61.

The “women in Hollywood should be young forever” attitude wasn’t as prevalent back then.
Apprehensive_Hat8986@reddit
No, but the predecessor wasn't great either. (You're either young and beautiful, or a grandmother)

Did you see The Substance?

Bea Arthur was born in 1922. This special aired a month before her 70th birthday.
Inconspicuous_Shart@reddit
You are right. I was googling and I asked how old she was in 91 and it gave me the fucking age she was supposed to be playing on the golden girls. 😂
illini02@reddit
Everything I've read about Bea Arthur makes her sound like she took herself very seriously. I'd really love to hear how they got her to do this.

Urkel's got the moves.

The older I get, the more attractive I find Bea Arthur

The single redeeming feature of the Star Wars holiday special is Bea Arthur as a surly cantina owner.

No love for Chewie’s dad getting off to VR porn?

She is a mighty Amazon amongst these mere mortals.

You may want to google a pic of her when she was a young truck driver in the military. Gorgeous
