5070ti vs 9070XT or wait

Recently got my hands on a 49" ultrawide for a great deal. Despite this, only got a 3070 and a 5800x rn. looking to downsize my build (lian li 011) to a sfx/itx sized build but everything is so damn expensive. main thing is gpu 5070ti vs 9070XT. I do game but not as much, starting to now due to getting a sim and the aforementioned 49". i do do video editing, just wanted to see/ gauge opinions on video editing (davinci) performance differences between the 2 cards. im sure cpu wise (9850x3d) will be okay for either but saw alot of mentions that davinci is much more optimized for Nvidia. I just have 0 clue how much more. There is a lack of evidence i can find that display how much of a jump in usability the 5070ti is for the cost. is it worth springing for it or going 9070xt? or honestly just thug it out entirely and wait til cost of ram and gpu come down..

As much as I’m an amd guy, dlss and nvidia frame gen are much better than FSR. Having used both, assuming the game requires the boost, nvidia has an advantage

do u by chance have experience in performance of the amd gpus in davinci? everyone says its MUCH worse than nvidia cards but 0 reasoning/proof behind it
Kakirax@reddit
I don’t have any experience with DaVinci in general. But if DaVinci is able to use cuda cores, nvidia will perform much better since cuda is such a mature tech

got it 5070ti hunt it is

amd cards are terrible in productivity compared to nvidia, this has always been the case. you can look at any benchmarks in the past 10 years

You know YouTube is a thing right? There are tons of productivity comparison videos out there.
knglulu@reddit (OP)
genuinely cant find one direct comparison with real world test beside rendering speed. i mentioned that.
AdstaOCE@reddit
9070XT. The 5070TI is just so much more expensive for almost no benefit.
knglulu@reddit (OP)
well my main concern was productivity which ive heard is much better with the nvidia carss
AdstaOCE@reddit
Depends on the application, there are a few which favor Nvidia heavily, and most which don't.
knglulu@reddit (OP)
mainly davinci and adobe on my end
AdstaOCE@reddit
Davinci: https://www.pugetsystems.com/pugetbench/results/compare/Puget%20Bench%20for%20DaVinci%20Resolve/33/GPU/AMD%20Radeon%20RX%209070%20XT/NVIDIA%20GeForce%20RTX%205070%20Ti/
Adobe is more Nvidia favored though as far as I'm aware, at least Premiere is:

didnt know these existed!
Slottr@reddit
Video editing how often?
knglulu@reddit (OP)
not as often as id like, trying to be more consistent, id say one 5 minutes 4k video a week. will eventually do more. i edit 4k or 6k open gate v log if that helps
Slottr@reddit
So enough to make a significant use of this system? If so 5070 Ti
knglulu@reddit (OP)
what main benefit would the 5070ti gave over the 9070XT, rendering speed hasnt been too much issue for me even now, but scrubbing with heavy effects really kills it for me
Slottr@reddit
CUDA is pretty resourceful for scrubbing/rendering; something AMD just doesn’t have
Errorr404@reddit
that is also why higher end Nvidia stuff just doesn't drop in price as much when the newer stuff comes out, people were selling a used 4090 here and buying a new 5090 with €100 difference lol.
Exciting-Ad-5705@reddit
No that's because Moore's law is dead and Nvidia knows when to cut production to avoid making the previous gen too cheap
