9070xt or rt 5070; raw power or ai?

so I am interested in upgrading from 1080p to 1440p
I currently use the 2080 super and I don't think it will be strong enough for max settings 1440p. After some research it came down to two gpu's: 9070xt and 5070. I like the 5070's frame gen and dlss but I'm unsure how'd it would feel:I've heard it looks like a high Refresh rate but feels like a slow one. and I also like the sound of the 9070xt with its 16gb vram and better raw performance. I want to use my future card until at least 2031. I play both competitive games and singleplayer games.
If you guys could help me decide it would be very appreciated

I have always used AMD but i’ve had too many driver issues over the past 6 years
and i’d rather have dlss with nvidia so i chose 5070 over 9070xt
but if you’re playing competitive games such as marvel rivals, valorant, csgo etc i’d suggest raw power, so 9070xt
otherwise 5070 imo

What are the driver issues you experienced?
Ugz96@reddit
i’ve had the 5700 xt and then 6700 xt the 6700 xt i’ve used the past 4 years
two separate rigs
amd settings resetting - games crash with driver timeout error - amd adrenaline not opening due to driver mismatch
this has improved with amd over the years but it’s still present
regardless of if you use ddu uninstalled - disable windows auto driver updates etc
i personally got tired of this, and im currently building a new pc, i’ve ordered all my parts and its all arrived/arriving in the next 2 days
5070 aero ryzen 7 9800x3d 32gb ddr5 6000mhz b850 auros elite wifi 7 tryx panorama se 360
personally i’m super excited to try out nvidia

There is no perfect deal but you will be better off with Nvidia. Me and my friends that have Nvidia have had minor issues here and there, my friends with AMD GPUs have had far more issues on average. We are playing games, they too often are troubleshooting an issue.

Good luck, if you think Nvidia is going to treat you any better you are for a ride :) . I did exactly the opposite move from RTX3070 to RX9070 and I find AMD Adrenaline experience much better.
I am not saying Nvidia was terrible but it was far from perfect, black screen after sleep issue was never resolved and I had this card for 4 years, believing for a good while it was the monitors fault, I also hated the hit and miss updates which could suddenly introduce stutter to the game I already played without any issues etc. The situation got noticeably worse in the middle of 2024 and accompanied me until I got rid of the rtx
The only time the Adrenaline reset on me, was when the undervolt wasn't stable (thus I use now profiles for different games).I agree the suite is quite clunky in some tabs but it's 100% stable for me, so far (almost a year now)

9070 xt would be better, it's compared wirh 5070 ti, so if you don't need CUDA cores and the price for these both cards is the same, i would rather choose 9070 xt
Mellusse@reddit
go nvidia i regret so much getting a 9070 xt and all the amd driver issues

Driver issues like what? I've been on a 9070XT for over a year and have never had an issue with the drivers

Frame gen isn’t good.
It causes a lot of artifacts and doesn’t feel right.
It’s a lot better if you already have 120 fps as a base though.
Frame gen is Nvidias way to sell you crap, that casual folks will eat up that you don’t need.

Once my RX580 died for no reason, been green ever since.

9070xt. Frame needs you to have a high base Frame rate otherwise it feels really bad

I bought a 4070 super for 400 because I wasn't sure about that too. I don't think nvidia's frame gen is that good like people claim. Intel's and AMD's are comparable
I'd go for raw power personally.

9070xt. 5070is worse than 9070xt,

The 9070 xt should be compared with the 5070 ti. For that price it’s a no brainer to go for the 9070 xt.
