Do you have an inverter for this? I tried a similar setup but I'm not going to idle the truck to use my PC so I got a laptop...
P3tr0@reddit
You don't have to idle, I game on either my laptop or Steam Deck. With the other things I leave on (fridge mainly) I can sit truck off but gaming for at least 18ish hours before the inverter warns for low voltage. Cheap Amazon 3000 Watt
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
Yeah, a 2000w inverter and an APU.

SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
I've watched videos of that game. I need to buy it one of these days.
PotRoast666@reddit
It's pretty cheap and a lot of fun if you're into simulation type stuff. It's a lot like the Sims, but with zombies. It's worth grabbing a copy of it. The new build (build 42) is unstable, but their build 41 has over 31,000 mods in the Steam Workshop. You can basically cook up any scenario you want, as the game is a sandbox. Want to be a trucker in the zombie apocalypse? Make it happen, with everything from needing fuel and supplies for you and your truck to tools and materials in case you need to do repairs. Electricity, water, all of that is on a limited time so generators and fuel are needed to be eventually subbed in. Basically, if you can apply it to a real life oh fuck scenario, you can do it in Project Zomboid.
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
Yeah, I'm gonna add that to my wishlist. I've got too many games I'm trying to 100% (KCD2 is kicking my ass) at this moment but I will definitely give this a go.

I haven't played the new Battlefront game, but they REALLY need to remake the old Star Wars games. I would kill for a remake of KOTOR 1/2 and Jedi Knight Outcast/Academy
texastruckin@reddit
For a 10 year old game it still holds its own. Super competitive scene, thousands of players on the weekends. Not uncommon to run into the same people every now and then if you’re in the same skill level. I recommend it
LuckLovesVirtue@reddit
Beam.ng really helps me unwind after a long day of driving by the rules. Smashing through traffic in a rocket-powered semi with a wedge grill really gets the lead out. Noita is really fun and addictive with how complex a simple looking game can be. Wand building side scroller with an insane physics engine. Cruel for a fast-paced, frenetic boomer-shooter. I used to play Tarkov, switched to pve, then after about 1’600 hours I’m getting burned out. Still love it but it becomes your life after a while.
Occams_RZR900@reddit
Gray Zone Warfare.
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
Is that like a Battlefield version of Warzone?
Occams_RZR900@reddit
No it’s an open world MMO style PvE and PvEvP milsim FPS quasi extraction shooter. It’s pretty amazing if you have the hardware to run it.
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
I've got a 4070 Super so hopefully I can. I'll have to check it out.
Occams_RZR900@reddit
Oh yeah, you’ll be fine. My buddy runs it on a 3060. He had some issues a while back. The game is still early access and had some optimization issues early on.
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
That game has been in early access since, like, 2015 lmao. Might be worth taking a look if I can handle it. I've just heard it's crazy hard on your hardware so I was always scared to install it.
Occams_RZR900@reddit
I’m not sure you’re talking about the same game, Gray Zone Warfare was released in 2024 for early access. It definitely was super hard on hardware though, but that’s definitely improved, especially with this new .4 update.
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
Oh my bad, wrong comment. For some reason I thought I was on a Star Citizen comment. 😂 I'm tired, pay me no mind. I'll still have to look into this game.

SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)

SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
Life moves on. Computer broke and my parents couldn't afford another one and then I went to console. Only been back on PC a few years. I tried WoW and it just felt like an entirely different game. Starcraft I just haven't tried playing again. I 100% games before I install any new ones and I just have toooooooo many right now.
Unfair_Analysis_3734@reddit
Eh I don’t want to say “i grew up” but I guess eventually I just stopped gaming for some reason. I was also really big into counter strike for a bit. Maybe one day I’ll get back into it, but going to need to invest in a good gaming PC to run these modern games.

SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)

SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)

WebPuzzleheaded875@reddit
Yes
ShoebillJoe@reddit
If you want one of the greatest sandbox power fantasy open world games ever created it is. It's a world that feels lived in, is heavily interactable, and has endless content. One time I caught some bees and released them in a pub and people ran around swatting and screaming. If you want a good story, easy to learn controls, or a sense of progression beyond exploration, then it isn't.
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
I may still give it a try. I could always request a refund if I don't like it.
ShoebillJoe@reddit
Unfortunately there's a good chance you won't have played enough of the game during the two hour steam refund period to know what it's really like. If watch some let's plays or something

MadMysticMeister@reddit
No games on work nights, just an episode or two of anime. Right now I’m on wuchang fallen feathers, it’s like darks souls but with a chinese background and a hot female character. It’s as if the studio that made it put together all the best aspects from all of the souls games, demon souls healing, dark souls movement, elden ring ash of war, hollow knight specter thing after you die, and a interesting leveling system/skill tree.. little rough around the edges, but i really like the game.
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
Eh, I've got 150 miles to my first stop on moday, so some gaming it is. I'm watching Bofuri and Kaiju No 8 right now. If you haven't watched Kaiju, I highly recommend it. Best anime I've seen in a while.
MadMysticMeister@reddit
Yeah, when i was otr flatbed i was worried gaming would eat into my sleep so i didn’t bring any systems or games out with me, i was home on weekends so that was when i gamed, kinda like you now. I’m local tanker now but i still have the same habits.
I’ve been meaning to watch both of those for a while, i know kaiju no 8 just got another season so I’ll probably start watching it soon, i hear lots of good things about it. I just finished fire force last night and I caught up on one piece earlier this week, I’m still watching frieren, jujitsu kaisen, and hell’s paradise weekly as they get dubbed, so i need a good show to binge in between. There’s also a lot coming out this month too, it’s been a good time for anime
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
The animation on Kaiju is top fucking tier. Easily one of my favorite the last 5 years. I want to start watching One Piece but I'm kind of scared to start it. There are so many episodes but I hear it is really good.

I agree, I beat Double Agent Version 2 last week now I’m playing Double Agent Version 1 now.
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
There's another version?!
LaMarquis93@reddit
There are 2 versions. The Original Xbox / PS2 Version. And The 360/PS3 version. They have similar stories but kinda different. The Xbox/PS2 Version is better imo because it feels more like the first 3 Splinter Cell games.
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
I've only played the original Xbox version. Very interesting though, I kinda want to play the other one now.
LaMarquis93@reddit
The 360/PS3 version is still good though, it makes you feel like a double agent way better than the original Xbox version. I was surprised how good the 360 version still looks 20 years later. If you do check it out avoid the PC port because it’s unplayable I hear.
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
Ah, that's sad to hear. All I have is my pc in the truck.
LaMarquis93@reddit
The only way you can play it on PC with no issues is to use Xenia Emulator. That is a Xbox 360 emulator where you can play Xbox 360 games for free. The only reason I was able to play the OG Xbox version of double agent is because I used Xemu which is an Xbox emulator.

SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
Is Hoi like a Civ game?
dj-spetznasty1@reddit
Umm not really. Its WW2 themed. Basically you choose a country and the game starts in 1936 or 1939 (depends which you choose). Then you develop industry, research, build equipment, train armies and make political decisions, all gearing your country up for the start of WW2.
You can play historical where the AI makes choices that lead to a typical war or unhistorical where chaos can ensue. Id recommend checking it out or watching videos. Bittersteel makes good content

Vr chat
MadMysticMeister@reddit
Seems like a great way to socialize, have any vr specific friends?
Nobody_Important0010@reddit
Tons, been playing vr way longer than I've been driving. Got my first htc vive in 2018 and kinda nolifed my way from work to vr all the way up until I started driving about a year ago. Now I just link a quest to my laptop and play that way with some imu based full body. Its not alot of space but it works fine enough for that particular experience.
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
That actually sounds like a good time, I just don't have the space for anything else in here, sadly.
Nobody_Important0010@reddit
Depends on your set up, I've played vr in a 48 inch sleeper mind roof cascadia, its enough to play vr chat cause most of that game is talking. Now I have a 72 inch mid roof and it works just as well, just maybe enough room to take a step or 2. I dont see why you couldn't do something like that as long as you have enough light. You could even do standalone with a quest 3 if you dont have room for a PC.
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
I've got my pc in here but I thought you had to move around and whatnot. I've never actually looked into what goes into something like that.
Nobody_Important0010@reddit
Not really for vrchat, you can play it pretty stationary. Depending on your actual ammount of space you might even be able to play a few more compact non vrchat game. If you want a means of pseudo-socializing in the truck it is recommended from me. But I mean the cost of a headset is a big ask for alot of folks so I would understand anyone who says that its alot to give for what is essentially one game on the road. Still could do more stuff when youre not driving too I guess
SlothyTendecies@reddit (OP)
I'll have to look into it some more. Socialization definitely isn't a bad thing in this profession.
Nobody_Important0010@reddit

Don't know why you would, the combat is awesome. I'm more partial to Jins story myself, but Yotei isn't bad.

Everyone in the community agrees that the first game had the superior story, but Yotei improved EVERYTHING else. Truly a great game studio.

It would be hard for a samurai game to take Tsushimas spot in my book. That games story so so freaking good.

I'm on home time playing Hitman: World of Assassination. That game has filled pretty much every 34 I've taken for the last few months. I can't recommend it enough if you like stealth games that don't take themselves seriously.

I think the last Hitman game I played was Blood Money. That must've been 20 years ago, lmao.
