Captain Jellico was a dick because we weren't supposed to like him, but he was probably one of the best Starfleet officers we ever saw on screen.
He was an utmost professional and would have treated her with utmost professionalism.
She would probably have him pegged as a stick in the mud and not have needled him like Picard. She messed with Jean Luc SPECIFICALLY because she knew she was making him blush.

"I prefer a certain formality in my senior staff's mothers..."
VanTaxGoddess@reddit
Right, but Lwaxana is an Ambassador, who would outrank him in diplomatic matters.
If she told him that the best way for the negotiations to succeed was by being nude, he'd do it.
ClarSco@reddit
*Lwaxana dons her wedding outfit in response*
splatomat@reddit
Troi is a full ambassador and Federation Council representative of a major Federation world and could probably cause problems for Jellico's career with some well-placed comments, if she put her mind to it.
Sopranohh@reddit
LT like riling up Picard. Jellico would grey rock her in every interaction, and she would get bored.
Sea-Quality4726@reddit
Picard had been the woman-on-every-planet guy that she was needling him about but thought it was beneath him now and loved a solitary life.
Jellico had kids, and wasn't trying to hold himself up as a paragon figure. I bet any needling would look completely different.
dystopiadattopia@reddit
She'd get him in the end
crapusername47@reddit
He wouldn’t be in the transporter room to meet her. He would delegate that job to Riker or Troi.
He gives his executive officer an order and expects them to carry it out by giving orders to the crew.
Now, the fun one would be how he’d deal with someone like Ralph Offenhouse.
HussingtonHat@reddit
"May I....?"
Then Riker does it out of politeness and gets a bollocking for it later.
Fabulous-Sea-1590@reddit
In my teens, I loved Star Trek books so much.
A scene from one called Imzadi has always stuck with me. Young Riker, stationed on Betazed attends a wedding. One of the other guests looks at him and derisively asks why human men are so hairy.
Riker grins and says, "Traction."
Still cracks me up like 30 years later.
jaques_sauvignon@reddit
Haha, I was actually thinking he would just order whichever subordinate crewmember happened to be standing closest to carry the luggage.
HussingtonHat@reddit
Lol, yeah that's totally an option. I just see him being (not unjustifiably) rude and Riker smoothing things over. Then later he gets shit because "we aren't subservient to random civilians, I don't care if its your ex future mother in law!"
Dude gets more shit than he should in my opinion, basically because he's played by.....fuck...that guy yknow, plays the evil government/corpo guy in everything. But he's just....yknow....actually professional and holds people to standards. Like "oh I'm so sorry I asked you to wear a fucking uniform like everyone else Troy, sorry for not being so chill as to give you a cocktail."
jaques_sauvignon@reddit
Haha. Ronny Cox plays such a good asshole.
Red-Sun-Cinema@reddit
He wouldn't. Jellico doesn't tolerate arrogance or entitlement.
Triad64@reddit
He'd probably invite her to Cardassian negotiations for her Betazoid powers, and encourage her to be gregarious / make Cardassians uncomfortable in any way that gives the Federation an edge.
Jellico: "Get it done."
Lwaxana: "Oh, Captain Jelly, you are so solution-focused!... it makes you SO adorable!"
She might even get him to laugh a little.
spaghettibolegdeh@reddit
I don't know if Jellico would be into the drama lol
Also I'm not sure why the consensus seems that Jellico sucks. I thought he was awesome. Just a different kind of captain to Picard.
ashleton@reddit
He's a very unlikable character, but he's clearly been traumatized, but he still knows his shit. He's also put thought into all of his actions, we just don't like them because they're not what Picard would do. Jellico let his trauma control him. Picard does not.
Champ_5@reddit
Jellico did nothing wrong
BobLog3rd@reddit
pfft Jellico been tryina hit that for years
Tmelrd275@reddit
Mrs Troi, I would appreciate that in the future you moderate your hormonal tendencies. This is a starship, not a Klingon Speed Dating service.
PhantomSesay@reddit
Is that lurch in the back? Looks like him.
dnkroz3d@reddit
It's not. It's Carel Struycken, who played the tall dude in the restaurant in Men in Black.
Disastrous_Horse_764@reddit
It is.
donpuglisi@reddit
Yall hate Jellico because he put Horndog McBeardface in his place, but he was 100% right throughout the entire 2 episodes he was in
Constant-Box-7898@reddit
He wouldn't. He would send Data.
EngagedInConvexation@reddit
He'd absolutely love to be Deanna's step dad.
Johnsendall@reddit
Daddy, I’m stuck in the replicator…..
wakeup37@reddit
"You will call me Daddy. I prefer a little informality in the family."
Johnsendall@reddit
And one more thing…… get that b*tch out of the ready room.
bongart@reddit
I'm sure Deanna would have requested a transfer off the Enterprise if Jellico had been given the ship permanently. Then, there wouldn't have been any Troi family issues whatsoever to deal with.
jmf0828@reddit
Probably as rude, dismissive and cantankerous as he acted with everyone else.
CountingOnThat@reddit
He granted that Will Riker — a guy he didn’t personally like — was the best person to pilot a shuttlecraft to give him the upper hand against his people who could kill crewmembers in general and Deanna in particular. And so he asked Will and got what he wanted.
Hey, do you think a full-blooded Betazoid could likewise be of use in foiling people who could harm the crew and/or Deanna?
TripleStrikeDrive@reddit
Jellico probably wouldn't care about Lwaxana Troi behavior. Picard was more diplomatic and more reserved, so it was easier for Lwaxana to do her thing. Jellico probably would shut her down, saying he already had previous engagements and couldn't meet for a meeting for dinner.
AquafreshBandit@reddit
Refusing the Daughter of the Fifth House ?!
AngrySoup@reddit
It turns out that Captain Jellicoe approached a lot of diplomatic situations in the same way.
Odd-Abbreviations494@reddit
LT: You may carry my luggage. EJ: Mr. Worf… take Ambassador Troi’s luggage to her quarters.
thanatossassin@reddit
"Yes, we've called this meeting to let you of our new crew rotations and you have been reassigned to the Rutledge, Deanna. Coordinate with Commander Data to have your items transferred to Starbase 80 in a few hours."
But-
"Get it done."
DOOP_Investigator@reddit
Believe it or not, straight to the brig.
Ralph--Hinkley@reddit
He certainly would not approve of her aboard his D.
TroyTrekker@reddit
He’ll confine her to a stateroom and post four security guards outside the room. that’s even if he allows her to be a board in the first place.
Irishwol@reddit
Firmly. The stars did not quite align for this might-have-been, perfect match.
momentimori@reddit
I had to kill Picard because he made a mistake. Now it's time to erase that mistake.
ForgeoftheGods@reddit
He might be in on the joke. I've often thought that she just enjoys messing with people. We saw her real side a couple of times, once when she unofficially adopted Alexander as a grandson and some of her later interactions with Odo.
Mass-Effect-6932@reddit
Was Jellico married? He hang his son’s artworks up in the ready room
TripleStrikeDrive@reddit
Lwaxana Troi might be willing to work around that issue. No man is perfect.
Overall_Lavishness46@reddit
Smoosh.
momentimori@reddit
Can you fly Lwaxana?
GainOld4005@reddit
Would have dropped ranks and called her a Karen
teflon_soap@reddit
I may, but I won’t.

Oh god that would be epic
