Are these rates good for BMW 3 Series?

Getting a $633/ month for 39 months with 3000 down payment.
Is these good or still high for BMW 3 Series xdrive?
bryanprz91@reddit
I pay 600/mo and get to keep my chevy silverado after 4 years. BMW tards sound like they all lease bc they don't know where the turn signal is anyways.
SnowDucks1985@reddit
Bad deal, you shouldn’t put down money on a lease at all. What’s the residual?
Straight_Mushroom715@reddit (OP)
57% of the MSRP.
SnowDucks1985@reddit
Ok so 57% residual on the $55k MSRP means you’re financing about $23,700 in depreciation over 39 months. That’s works out to roughly paying $609/month in pure depreciation alone.
Assuming you pay $721 a month with no downpayment, that means you’re eating about $112/month in money factor and fees on top of that. So you are roughly paying $4,300 extra over the lease just to drive the car for 39 months. That’s not a good deal imo 😭😭
What’s the money factor they quoted you?

I think it is 0.0013. Bro can I DM you loved the details.
bryanprz91@reddit
I got a bridge to lease you..... DA.
SnowDucks1985@reddit
I see, that’s not bad actually. It seems like the residual and lease rate is what’s causing the issue.
Sure feel free to DM! I’m an accountant so I like number crunching and all that lol, np!

The answer we need, nice.

Bro is a saint.
SnowDucks1985@reddit
Haha happy to do my part ✊🏽✊🏽
Straight_Mushroom715@reddit (OP)
It is 721$ a month with no downpayment.
First-Length6323@reddit
Why not find an off-brand three year used one for 30k instead and keep it for ten years for the same price?
Mbanks2169@reddit
I would not pay $600+ a month for a base model 3 series
Straight_Mushroom715@reddit (OP)
Not a base model. Have convenience package, and parking assistance package. MSRP quoted is $55215
Mbanks2169@reddit
A 330 is still a base model. It's a 4cyl BMW. I was paying like $430 a month for my 2015 335 Msport when it first came out
Imaginary_Essay6877@reddit
Dude. 10 years ago the 335i had a starting price tag of 44k and now the 330i has a starting price tag of 48k. It’s not apples to apples comparison
Mbanks2169@reddit
No one is arguing that. I'm saying I wouldn't pay $633 a month for what is now a base model 3 series. Why not buy a certified pre owned 1 or 2 year old model for under $30k
Imaginary_Essay6877@reddit
Good luck finding a 1 year old certified pre-owned 330i for 30k. That would be rare.
Humble_Wheel_3909@reddit
Never paid more than 500 per month for a 3 series
Straight_Mushroom715@reddit (OP)
Ummm… that like what 10 years ago. Everything has got expensive currently.
Mbanks2169@reddit
Point is my car was $55k brand new and I wasn't paying that much per month. Plus how much is your insurance?
Straight_Mushroom715@reddit (OP)
That is going to hit me somewhere around 600 from what I have got so far.
diabeetusNrobin@reddit
Do not put money down on a lease. Ever.
Gahreesen@reddit
Do not lease. Ever. Lease is 100% making payments to depreciation (plus fees and money factor), during the first 3 years when depreciation is the greatest. "But I negotiated the residual value up to X". Awesome for you, it's still the most expensive way to drive a car.
Apptubrutae@reddit
My wife had a friend who was looking at buying a jeep compass or something like that. She said she was going to lease because her grandfather insisted the only way to go was leasing.
I didn’t say anything because it wasn’t my place, but I was immediately thinking…what the heck is her grandfather thinking?
And then I thought more about it and thought that for all the shortcomings of leasing, you should only do it if you know what the pros and cons are and are comfortable with that. Not just because a relative says to do it!
A few years later we met up with her again and she was complaining about the car situation and saying how she never should have leased it. Yeah.
Humble_Wheel_3909@reddit
Especially for a 3 series, that’s insane
diabeetusNrobin@reddit
Yeah of possible definitely never lease. But I can understand everyone’s situation when needing a car is different so I guess if you must lease to get to what you want to enjoy driving…never put money down!! Biggest highway robbery by dealers
Necessary-Spring-129@reddit
No buy a luxury car until you have the cash
mcAlt009@reddit
Check the insurance first.
Leasing can be ok if you ONLY need a car for the next few years.
The first car I ever had was about 15,000 new. I leased it, and didn't really need a car 3 years later.
Driving a new car means you know exactly how much you're getting screwed over.
Reddit likes to brag about Uncle John's 99 Corolla he decides to gift you, but that's not reality for most people.
Leasing anything outside of an econobox is a really weird flex for most people though. Like I'd rather lease a car for around 300 to 400$ and put that extra 300$ a month somewhere else
Working_Farmer9723@reddit
Negotiate on out the door price. Then if you need to lease you can refer back to the selling price and residual. Also, don’t lease. If you can’t afford to buy it, you can’t afford it. (Does not apply if your company is making the payments.). Been there, done that, learned the lesson I’m passing to you.

Year, miles, history? Missing alot of context here
Straight_Mushroom715@reddit (OP)
2026 model. 10k miles a year. Clean history but got my DL last year.
EmergencyAnything715@reddit
I really hope you have a real job and just recently got your DL.
If you are ~18. This is a terrible purchase
Straight_Mushroom715@reddit (OP)
I do have a good job. Not 18 I am 25. I have driving history but from outside US.
insoul8@reddit
Always $0 down on a lease. If something happens to the car, that money is gone. If it’s totaled, insurance pays the lessor. Gap insurance covers the difference between the cars value and what is owed on the lease, it does not refund your cap cost reduction.
135is@reddit
So many different 3 series might want to specify which one, a 320i is gonna be a lot cheaper than a 340, and a 340 is cheaper than a m3
Straight_Mushroom715@reddit (OP)
330i xdrive
