I like how the old models have three wipers. My 01 e320 only had one wiper.
J-Dabbleyou@reddit
Wasn’t Mercedes like SUPER Nazi in 1938?
Ok-Cantaloupe-9946@reddit
Wonder if they’ll start saying that about Israeli companies from this time period.
petit_cochon@reddit
Get in there and make it about Israel.meme.
Ok-Cantaloupe-9946@reddit
Yet not before someone was able to make it about the Nazis.

Yeh they're not exactly out advertising this period in their history
IlluminatedPickle@reddit
Never ask a German or Japanese company what they were doing during WW2.
charlu@reddit
Renault, GM, Ford, IBM were not exactly perfect either.
IlluminatedPickle@reddit
Of those, Renault has the most argument for "t'wasn't us."
IBM and GM were very much okay with everything up until the US got involved in the war. Then it was "Oh we definitely don't have control of them anymore"
Justinian2@reddit
I mean they do take ownership of it on their website https://group.mercedes-benz.com/company/tradition/company-history/75th-anniversary-of-the-end-of-world-war-ii.html no point hiding something everyone knows about already
Cheepshooter@reddit
Those semaphores are dope. Landau bars, too! Classy.
Captain_Biscuit@reddit
Not sure if it's the same worldwide but in the UK they're known as 'trafficators'.
Was driving behind an old Austin last year when the lil arm popped up and it made me giggle, it's strangely adorable.
IlluminatedPickle@reddit
Landau bars are the things on the soft top. The arms on the side.

This reminds me of how much I wanted to play that Mafia remake from a few years ago because I absolutely love the car designs from that era.
Ruidwaun@reddit
Is the part connected to the Serpentine belt an air conditioner compressor?
NationYell@reddit
This is all so very sensual.
AccomplishedNail3085@reddit
I think my great grandpa from argentina had one of these
DMala@reddit
Interesting to see functions landau bars.
MattressHallington@reddit
Yea u dont see those anymore lol maybe some faux-landau bars
Saint_The_Stig@reddit
I mean this is the first time I've seen them and now the random squiggle bars on cars make some sort of sense.
MattressHallington@reddit
Yea some luxury cars use them as a throwback.

GeoStreber@reddit
My great-grandpa had one.
I really regret not visiting him more before he died, but each trip was a 12 hour flight down to Buenos Aires.
SoonToBeBanned24@reddit
Wonderful car! How could you Nazi the quality of construction? The level of engineering perfection?
Laffenor@reddit
I don't know, looks pretty dated to me.

That car is straight up handsome.
MattressHallington@reddit
The paint job is absolutely amazing 👏. That door close was a thing of beauty itself.
Kotukunui@reddit
That’s not weird. Just very, very, very cool.
Smooth self-balancing straight-six engine. Great lines. Impeccable finish. Clever features for its time. What’s not to love? Built by Nazis, possibly? Yep. That’ll do it.
jj999125@reddit
I wonder what other iconic cabriolets they made in the years following it
