Innovative? Or silly?

For context this pilot I’m at in Harrisonburg, VA has broken laundry. 2 washers, and 2 dryers and only one dryer works. Everything else is broken. Being a new driver and needing to do laundry I took it upon myself to use the employee washer (I know not good on my part, but how was I to know since I’m brand new and kinda dumb) anywho I’ve been struggling to dry my clothes during my 34hr since I was going to run out of my 70hr before I could drop off my load in Detroit. So this is my genius at work after waiting for my clothes to dry for 8 hours

Here’s the thing about being a grown up. You do what you want and don’t care what people think. Just try and be courteous to others and you can live your life however.
But yeah, if I saw you I’d be like… look at this freaking idiot loser.

You do what you got to do. If you want faster drying you could in theory put them into a laundry bag and when you take off you can zip tie that said back around your spare tire in the back and or pigtail rack. No guarantees and is probably even worse but just trying.

I usually hang a rope in the sleeper, where my fan is. For clothes that can't go in a dryer. It'll be forever to dry laying against a surface. Through them over the mirror arm would be better.

Hang drying clothes outside, never one has ever done that before

He did say he was dumb

I mean I would say I’m pretty intelligent normally. But being a brand new driver. I’m dumb when it comes to living on the road like this. I’m supposed to be home but my company kinda screwed me over on my home time this weekend

I don’t think anyone is calling you dumb for hanging your clothes out. I think you are getting comments like this because of your title and the implication that you think this is an innovative idea. Everyone has done this at some point, so it’s not innovative.

I usually bobtail on pc to a local laundromat

Pro tip: use string or shoe lace run through one arm of shirts and through the belt loops on pants so you don't have that weird wet line where it sit in the window+ the whole thing dries
jyster1996@reddit (OP)
Never thought about that! Where would I hang it up at if it ever happens again?
Stone_Ravenn@reddit
Same place you did now but you put the strings between the glass and the door frame instead of the fabric that way the fabrics outside fully :V

Thank you! Appreciate that little pro tip!

As a local, I've done it to dry out shirts during hot summer months while driving between deliveries.
Don't see any issue with it at all.
SelfishLampShade@reddit
Nah iv done this, even hung them on the side mirrors and just prayed no one took them lol

Gotta do what you gotta do. 🫡

I mean… uber to a laundromat or another truck stop if they close would be an option as well
Alarmed-Positive457@reddit
I mean…. It works for your clothes but it won’t stop the lot lizards from climbing up to your window.

I’ll have to politely decline as my fiancée is waiting at home 😬

Your fiancee sounds like one lucky guy

Good one lol

This is one of the reasons I bought some paracord.

Neither innovative nor silly. Simple solution to a simple problem. Gotta do what you gotta do.

I mean it looks stupid without context so that’s why I had to provide said context. But thank you for that

Ya gotta do what ya gotta do 👍
