How long was “Rumours” (1977) in your regular music rotation?

I remember when this came out and we were still listening to it regularly in 1983.
JoshOfArc@reddit
Overproduced commercial navel-gazing boomer schlock. Was out of my rotation the first I listened to it as a somewhat cognizant teen.
Edward_the_Dog@reddit
Whatever.
Edward_the_Dog@reddit
It's never left. Sure, it's taken a hiatus or two, but it always comes back.
Oneoftheotherpeople@reddit
The range of replies on this is absolutely fascinating.
AussieBelgian@reddit
Never, not a fan. I appreciate the significance they had but they’re just not for me.
Melodic_Caramel1777@reddit
Never left my regular music rotation.
addctd2badideas@reddit
Never? Always thought this was too early to appeal to Xers except the youngest of us? I look at Fleetwood Mac as stuff mostly enjoyed by late boomers.
jordy1971@reddit
Never. Meh
North-Bit-7411@reddit
A classic example of a fantastic album that was overplayed. I need a fucking break from hearing it for about 10 years.
freshcoffeegrounds@reddit
It still is. It's timeless.
RikkiLostMyNumber@reddit
Was playing that an hour ago while I was cooking.
MaligatorMom2@reddit
It never left.
chrillekaekarkex@reddit
Played it this week. Vinyl and streaming.
Freightshaker000@reddit
Still is. I play through the album (drums) about once a week. John and Mick are my favorite rythmn section.
Hopfrogg@reddit
Shocks me to see so many people say "Never"... I think this is one of the best albums ever made. It's back in my rotation these days as modern music has gradual left my rotation.
Mistervimes65@reddit (OP)
Grammy award winner, first album to top both the UK and US charts. Multi-platinum, critically acclaimed. Hard not to see it as one of the best albums of all time.
kcfdr9c@reddit
You’re right. It was/is. Anyone who thinks differently is wrong.
MellieInMi@reddit
Since 1977! One of my favorite bands EVER!
kcfdr9c@reddit
When I lived in Marin county, whenever I’d find myself in Sausalito, I’d drive by The Record Plant and just stare in amazement of what happened there. It was actually for sale in the late aughts but I don’t know if it was sold. Imagine owning that piece of rock-n-roll history!
Sufficient-Citron127@reddit
Still is and has been since the 80s
Plastic_Difference54@reddit
NEVER AND NEVER WILL.
Hopfrogg@reddit
Tim Dillon has a great bit about that one aunt who is always playing Rumours..... Thunder only happens when....
Saltydogusn@reddit
Never left.

Used to listen to it. Now I find it exceedingly boring.

Still is, so…..45 years?
MidwestAbe@reddit
Never. I do love Second Hand News however. I only knew that song from a radio bit. Id say 10 years after hearing it as an intro I actually heard the song on the radio somehow and my mind was blown.
The Americans turned me on to Tusk. And that video is awesome too.
Those are the only Fleetwood Mac songs I remotely enjoy.
graciegirlsmom@reddit
Second Hand News is my fave Fleetwood Mac song... just something about being able to belt out 🎵🎵lay me down in the tall grass and let me do my stuff🎵🎵 😆
MidwestAbe@reddit
"Hey, Diane, let's run off behind the shady trees Dribble off those Bobby Brooks Let me do what I please"
Pmoneywhazzup@reddit
Excellent. I heard this song yesterday on the classic rock station. You want to go to the city? You ain’t missin’ nothin.

Our kids will be posting...
I said certified freak, seven days a week Wet and gushy, make that pull-out game weak, woo
parnassus744@reddit
It was nonstop on the radio in the late 70s when I was a kid, so what the radio played was basically my music rotation.
Bathysphered@reddit
Never
Chesterlie@reddit
I still listen to it from time to time. Until today I, I never noticed the artfully placed balls though. 😉
Jolly-Guard3741@reddit
Still there. I think I have four songs that are in my iTunes account.
arioandy@reddit
Never
Jmazoso@reddit
It is currently #200 on the billboard 200
RandomObserver13@reddit
Never. Just not a big fan, although the songs were damn near inescapable on the radio. Chrissy McVie was the best part of the band. Outside of her duet with Tom Petty, I never really could get into Stevie Nicks either, though credit where it’s due, she inspired “Don’t come around here no more”, one of TP&tH best songs (and videos).
Nightgasm@reddit
Never has been. I like some songs on it but I've never listened to the whole album at once.
ThatLiberalGirl@reddit
Was, is and will be.
classicsat@reddit
I listen to "classic" rock radio. It is still there. I do have it on LP.

dpenton@reddit
It was in my music rotation. It still is, too.

Orangeboi_22@reddit
Never. You couldn't escape this album on the radio even if you wanted to. Even today, you can't escape it. Overplayed and overrated.
melmsz@reddit
Exactly. And there's a whole lot of them.
FireflyEvie@reddit
This is the correct answer. The album and the group are absolute garbage.
changelingcd@reddit
It still is.
iamjustsyd@reddit
Never. Can't stand Stevie Nicks.
swordrat720@reddit
Really, never. I do like the album, I prefer the earlier blues Fleetwood Mac.
PreppyAtHeart1972@reddit
It wasn’t. Unpopular opinion, I cannot listen to Fleetwood Mac.
Musicmom1164@reddit
What do you mean? It still is.
im_joe@reddit
What do you mean, "was"?

Still is
melmsz@reddit
Never
Calamitous_Waffle@reddit
Because radio too much
melmsz@reddit
Exactly. No need to put into personal rotation when you can't get away from it.
GnorxA@reddit
Too young to make an impact, but Tango in the Night was the howitzer that introduced the band and Rumors was an awesome discovery afterwards!
Rencauchao@reddit

1977-current.
Miserable_Willow_312@reddit
Still in my daily drive! In fact, I just listened to Dreams on my way to done errands.
this_kitty68@reddit
This is still in rotation. “Rumours” may be the best album ever conceived- love it or hate it. It’s one of the best selling albums of all time. Four mega hits. After its release it was the only thing playing on the radio. You couldn’t get away from it and that was a good thing. Breakups make for the best song writing!
y0ungshel@reddit
It still is.
AccomplishedLine9351@reddit
Sat up with friends and enjoyed watching the Grammy awards the year they won.
SillyPuttyGizmo@reddit
It was never in rotation
SouthConsideration15@reddit
Kinda ironic—I am on a cruise right now and one of their shows is a band playing the entire album with narrative about each song.
sangvert@reddit
“was?”
Hilsam_Adent@reddit
As of today, four days ago. It'll probably get two or three more listens before the year is out.
Street_Wash1565@reddit
Only bought the record in the last 10 years - hadn't actually listened to the album before that (was obviously aware of half the songs from radio play)
LeiaOregonia@reddit
All time favorite album.
FirstNoel@reddit
Still is.
RepoManSugarSkull@reddit
Never. Freak-Wood-Mac has always egistered with me the way the Eagles sit with The Dude. They are an act that this this cat cannot abide. I do like Christine MacVie's voice and playing. Her solo work is most sublime.
seattlemh@reddit
I just listened to the whole album yesterday.
OliJalapeno@reddit
Still is
Away-Equipment4869@reddit
My dad raised me on this album. It's still in rotation!
GalacticDoc@reddit
Still gets a listen every couple of months or so.
The master for the SACD is my favourite.
matthewscottbaldwin@reddit
It will always be in my rotation, thanks to the Spotify algorithm.
asoupo77@reddit
Never. I absolutely cannot stand Fleetwood Mac.
Upset_Peace_6739@reddit
You mean people actually stopped listening? Blasphemy.
LastCookie3448@reddit
It never left.
Mfsmitty@reddit
I was listening to punk. Its only in the last few years that I've allowed myself to enjoy a bit of FWM.
leftoverrights@reddit
Never. Terrible album, horrible band after Peter Green left. If I ever found myself wanting to hear whiny bitches whining about their relationships with other whiny bitches, I’d saw my own ears off and fill the holes with cement. Fuckwood Mac.
ntengineer@reddit
Still is today
buginmybeer24@reddit
My 13 year old son almost purchased the album the other day.
ZombieButch@reddit
Have it on vinyl. It's still in rotation.
BadkyDrawnBear@reddit

I DJ and go out of my way to find Fleetwood Mac remixes. They will forever be an all time favorite of mine.
