Tips for working out OTR?

Currently in my training phase, but not getting a clear answer from my trainer as he doesn’t work out.
When I go solo, how would I go about going to the gym regularly? Do I uber there from a truck stop?
Can I park my truck in a local Walmart or somewhere with open space?

Gyms are really hard to make work. If you want to stay in shape on the road, do flatbed or intermodal. Honestly intermodal on shitty equipment kept me jacked from cranking on pins and bolts from the 1980's lol.

Bobtail to planet fitness

Ok cool. I have a black card too. So I can just drop the trailer at a truck stop?

Always ask permission and put a king pin lock on it, I used to bob tail all the time to PF and anytime fitness, along with grocery shopping.

This aint gonna work most of the time, planet fitness is stringent about trucks and dropping trailers at truck stops will likely get your trailer towed.
Bring the gym with you. Kettlebells and a jump rope or ruck sack for cardio are the best bang for your buck and take up very little space.

I drop my trailer literally all the time to go grocery shopping work out sometimes to hit the city in fact you see drop trailers almost all the time at a truck stop don’t think it’s that common

Just call the PF you’re going to ahead of time and ask them if you can drive the truck there and grab a 45 min—1hr work out. Much longer than that and you’re just messing around anyway. I’ve been doing it and 9 times outta 10 they’ve told me it’s fine. Same thing with dropping the trailer. Tell them what you’re doing and when you plan on returning and most are fine with it. Idk if other ppl have had different experiences but that’s been mine

Not without permission and a kingpin lock.

Work so hard that you dont have time to eat and you will lose weight.

Resistance bands, jump rope, and calisthenic.
The other day I felt fatigue mid drive. I jumped rope for 5 mins and felt refreshed. Remember to get the blood moving.

Getting to a gym regularly would be difficult OTR. Might be easier to just get some resistance bands.

A lot of PFs are at places (eg malls) that are near the interstate and where you can park a truck nearby.

A folding bike would work to get you to the gym if it's close enough and the weather is decent.

Body weight exercises and walking/jogging. Look on Amazon for suspension exercise straps. You can get a whole body workout with that.

Buy a workout mat and dumbbells. Push-ups, sit-ups, and you can always jog around the parking lot for cardio.

Your essentially not going to go to the gym, your going to drive 9/10 hours a day, your gonna be in bumfuck no where, you shouldn't be dropping a trailer for security reasons, companies aren't gonna be fans of you bobtailing to a gym burning their fuel. It's one of the things that the otr life makes very difficult. It's why most do it as safely and competently as they can for the year experience and then get that local job so they can go to the gym.
