Took the project to Cars and Coffee this morning. It made it without any problems!

Hope you made it home before posting this. Telling a good news story about a project car before getting home safe is a sure fire way to make a problem arise…..

I’m honestly I’m starting to think this is the way. I’m not a firm believer of “what’s the worst that could happen” but I’ve said it enough and 3 engines, 1 trans, 2 turbos, 2 clutches later, I’m beginning to think I need that phrase out of my vocabulary.

If you’re going through that much hardware I think something else is the problem.
Berdock91@reddit
Agreed. There have been a good matter of self-inflicted issues that has cost me honestly.

We are in the same club.

I’ll pour one out for you later today 🥲.

You think I'm a rookie? I made it home, let the car cool off, checked for leaks, reviewed the datalog, THEN posted online.

Hope you checked the passenger floorboard sheet metal screws and diamond plate to make sure it’s still secure.
HickBarrel@reddit (OP)
Oh damn! Forgot to check those!

Can't tell, 2nd gen eclipse vert? Girl car boss, close fight with a 3rd gen eclipse. Enjoy your 7 bolt fwd!
HickBarrel@reddit (OP)
It's a 97 Spyder, yes. It's been called a girl car more than once. But it is AWD.
publicsausage@reddit
Verts were never AWD, don't believe you
HickBarrel@reddit (OP)
People have been AWD swapping Spyders for 20 years
publicsausage@reddit
And the successful ones can be counted on hands and toes. Awd spyder is first in the special Olympics. Did you do the work? Show pics of that. Stock turbo?
HickBarrel@reddit (OP)
I did the work. Donor car was a 95 talon. It's a mostly stock engine with a holset hx35 turbo.
publicsausage@reddit
Fair enough, committed to the vert life. Have the same turbo(on something else) lol

Very nice! I'm assuming yours is the ford fusion all the way in the back? 😅

Always a great feeling

Very cool!
Also why the fuck is there a Hyundai Kona with it's hood open just like the EVO and the Eclipse?
HickBarrel@reddit (OP)
Haha, me and the Evo popped our hoods and then the guy with the Hyundai (friend of mine who drove out there with us) decided to pop his to be silly
124Enjoyer@reddit
Thank god he's just memeing. There's car meets where that stuff is done 100% seriously 😂
HickBarrel@reddit (OP)
I don't think anyone there was taking themselves too seriously. Bunch of nice cars, but no burnouts or excessive revving.
harribert@reddit
It’s a good feeling!
RobbMeeX@reddit
Hey, you're from TB!
curiousbydesign@reddit
So dope dude!
Melodic-Ad1415@reddit
Clean ride…besides that nasty ding in the worst spot!
HickBarrel@reddit (OP)
No kidding. It's a driver though so I'm not stressing it
Melodic-Ad1415@reddit
Pdr?
HickBarrel@reddit (OP)
I haven't even considered it, tbh. It has little dents here and there and could really use a whole respray. It's just not the top of the priorities list.
