What is one product/brand you won’t compromise on? ⭐

I’m curious if the same items come up with people in the comments :) is there anything you absolutely love and feel you couldn’t picture anything else in its place?

M&S fruit is worth the premium. It lasts longer and you rarely get a bland box of grapes or a dry apple.
disco_26@reddit (OP)
I’ve heard a lot of people do their weekly shop now in M&S and just get their own brand products because they are decent quality and the price is pretty much the same as Aldi and Lidl now
TheDuraMaters@reddit
Their basics are price matched to Aldi/Lidl, they call it their "remarksable value range." My local shopping centre has an M&S so if I'm there and need to pick up a few things, it's close enough in price to not be worth a trip to another shop.
Most of their meat is expensive and they tempt you with the treats and snacks.

Old Spice deodorant. Other brands leave me with filthy armpit stains or sometimes even burns (no joke)
disco_26@reddit (OP)
A classic fragrance to be fair
rb7833@reddit
Bottled milk from the milkman
disco_26@reddit (OP)
This sounds so good right now
Sparky1498@reddit
Heinz salad cream. Fine with tomato ketchup, brown sauce, and mayo swap outs etc but not salad cream. I don’t use it often, but when I do it has to be Heinz. Boiled eggs, chicken sandwiches or salad and jacket potatoes need a dollop and other brands don’t hit the spot in the same way Heinz does.
disco_26@reddit (OP)
Heinz means business 🫡

The only thing that comes to my mind is coconut milk. It must be an authentic Thai brand only. The Blue Dragon and some brands sold in UK supermarkets are mostly water.
disco_26@reddit (OP)
Don’t think I’ve ever had it. I did however have coconut water at one point (went through a vegan phase x) that was intriguing 🧐
Psychological-Bag272@reddit
I use coconut milk for cooking curry or adding creamy taste in Asian dishes. If you have had a Chinese or Thai curry, you would have had coconut milk. That's what makes it creamy and rich.
I have this theory that Blue Dragon purposely makes their coconut milk super watery so people would also buy coconut cream which is another product in the same range.
Coconut water is different and it is the most refreshing drink!
beefcake79@reddit
Estée Lauder advanced night repair . It’s the GOAT
disco_26@reddit (OP)
I’m intrigued 🤔 how much does it repair?
beefcake79@reddit
It’s just a really good skincare serum.
disco_26@reddit (OP)
I’m going to look into it, thank you ☺️
redlady1991@reddit
Lurpak. Need a mortgage to buy a tub now 🫠
disco_26@reddit (OP)
Love lurpak, hate the price of it 😭 💵
redlady1991@reddit
You can get two 400g tubs for £5 from Asda. No idea how that compares to the bigger tub price but while this offer's on we take advantage. Otherwise it's own brand butterpak for us 🥲
disco_26@reddit (OP)
The Sainsbury’s own brand one is actually not bad aswell
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
Coca cola especially when it's one of the few drinks that doesn't use sweeteners
disco_26@reddit (OP)
Just a hell of a lot of sugar, worth it though 🫡
Ok_Aioli3897@reddit
Problem is that there's hardly any options anymore.
It was much better before
Jimmy90081@reddit
This bloody question….

I will get you…some nice…crayons 🖍️

Lyles's Golden Syrup for my pancakes. The supermarket own-brands taste metallic to me, so has to be the original.
disco_26@reddit (OP)
Put me in the mood for pancakes 🥞
RecentTwo544@reddit
I use supermarket own brand golden syrup and while I will say they aren't quite up there with Lyle's, I've never tasted metal.
Sure you're not near a nuclear power station with a leak?
ClassroomDowntown664@reddit
fun fact Lyle's invited golden syrup as a way for the poor to have sugar

Recently switched after yearssss of being stubborn and I’ve been wasting my £10 per bottle for years.
Hello_Panda99@reddit
Hellman's Mayonnaise
disco_26@reddit (OP)
I do enjoy a nice mayo
TheDuraMaters@reddit
Farm Foods sometimes have the large jar for £1.99.
CircuitDew@reddit
Their plant-based one is even better than the original. Controversial..
youaresoincorrect@reddit
My gf loves mayonnaise and generally she can compromise cheap alternatives to pretty much anything but mayonnaise, it has to be hellmanns mayo
I don't like mayo myself so I can't know myself but I understand at the same time
RecentTwo544@reddit
Weirdly I agree but prefer the supermarket own brand ones because they're less "mayonnaise-y" which I find a bit overpowering in some dishes.
Except the Asda one, which tastes a bit like paint.
Professional_Sand502@reddit
Kit Kats, and no I’ve not been on a road trip from Italy to Poland recently 👀
Prize_Farm4951@reddit
I'm very much r/fucknestle but i cant get enough of kitkats.
And yeah the knock off supermarket ones i call shitkats dont do it
Professional_Sand502@reddit
Nestle can eat shit. But I have tried every single knock off about town and none cut the mustard.

That sounds exactly like someone who has a secret stash of the gorgeous biscuits 🫣

Yorkshire gold specifically (apologies if anyone buys it based on this comment, you won't be able to go back).

East-Comment7717@reddit
Totally! This at that time of the month you feel shit enough so go good quality just to make it a little easier. For me it’s always pads.

EconomicsAfraid7880@reddit
Regina Blitz kitchen roll.
disco_26@reddit (OP)
I do love a Regina Blitz, b&m do an own version of this called buffalo which is pretty near quality wise and a couple of pounds cheaper most the time
youaresoincorrect@reddit
I only buy when it's in offer like £3 for a 3 pack but holy hell it's unreal the difference in quality between Regina and any other brand for the price
I love my blitz
HawkwardGames@reddit
Probably Cherry Pepsi. Bit random, but I won’t cheap out on that, the no brand versions are always shite.
disco_26@reddit (OP)
I do like an occasional Pepsi max cherry 🍒
kunstlich@reddit
Tesco's Xero Cola Cherry is easily the most rank fizzy drink I've ever had. Has to be Coke or Pepsi Cherry, own brands just don't hit, fully agree.
pullTheSpro@reddit
Coffee.
It’s a hobby as much as a luxury and a treat.
disco_26@reddit (OP)
Curious what coffee you recommend? 🤔
pullTheSpro@reddit
It depends on what you enjoy!
I like light roasts. I had some great cups from Cafen recently - this one was superb but it’s pricey and sold out. Also had some great coffees from Scenery, Curve, Plot, Module and Zennor recently.
MattB256@reddit
Fage yogurt unfortunately. Even though it’s 6 bastard pounds for a tub. But no yogurt really comes close to the protein content in it and thicker consistency, so I keep buying it like the fool I am
disco_26@reddit (OP)
Don’t think I’ve ever had a Fage Yoghurt 😮
Fine_Cress_649@reddit
Arla skyr is dirt cheap and is basically nothing but protein and water

Diet coke. I have never found an own brand that tastes the same otherwise I’d happily switch.
disco_26@reddit (OP)
See I’ve always wondered what people love about Diet Coke, I’m team Pepsi Max however 😂
