Warrior..Princess. Warrior..Princess..Tramp. Warrior..Priestess..Tramp. Do you think they overdid it?? What Xena would you have made??

I always loved all the roles Xena played. But I think when they introduced Leah, I started getting a little cringy. Lol. I don't know if it was because she was a virgin priestess saying "Praise Hestia!" every five minutes that I started going maybe they should have maybe made a farmer xena lol. Haha. What kind of doppleganger Xena do you think they should have made??

Leah is my favorite double. I would have liked to see her again.

Farmer Xena would've been hilarious. Now that you've planted that idea in my head, I'll forever regret they didn't do it.
Aggravating_Mix8959@reddit
Old Ares Had A Farm was sort of like this. Once of my favorite episodes.

I thought it was hilarious when actual Xena had to pretend to be the virgin priestess. "Sometimes, ladies, you just have to take matters into your own hands." And poor Joxer could never tell when he was dealing with Xena, Leah, or Meg. Or realized it at exactly the wrong moment.

Lol. Poor Joxer. When he grabbed Xena's butt and she asked him if he was suicidal was absolute gold.

She even had a doubles on Hercules, I don't remember their names but one was married to a centaur and due to some racism someone burnt down their home and they had to find out who did it and then Zeus revived her. That was a funny episode because Salomnois had to baby sit a four year old centaur ( who wasn't potty trained). Then in the movie Hercules and the Amazon Woman she played one of the Amazons ironically, and the actor who played solan was in it. He played a boy who lived in the men village and wanted his mom but he couldn't be with her because she was an Amazon and no men could live with them. So they definitely didn't brake the mold. I even think Renee played a sacrificed princess in one of the other Hercules movies too. I think it's cool that they get to play around with different character types, it keeps the actors and the audience from getting bored and from them getting typed cast.

They predate Xena so technically Xena is the double
FirebirdWriter@reddit
Technically Xena is a double of Lysia

Renee's role in the second Herc TV movie The Lost Kingdom really showed her potential for being chosen for Gabrielle. It's always been my favourite of the five films next to the third one Circle of Fire.

It’s camp so I kind of expect things like that.
I’d like to have seen a god version of her.

I don't think they overdid it by introducing Leah, it's definitely one of my favourite silly episodes! If anything i thought they overused Meg; she was a lot of fun in the Xena doppelganger episodes with the farcical mistaken-identities, but I found it really weird when she just became a normal side-character like in Key to the Kingdom and Livia; it's almost totally ignored that she is identical to Xena.
If I was to make another Xena double, I think she would be somebody powerless and downtrodden, maybe a slave that Xena and Gabrielle could rescue and teach to believe in herself
Byanychance@reddit
Technically yes but Lucy does such a good job they get a pass
Jahon_Dony@reddit
That's Joxer's wife you're talking about!
FieryLipstick@reddit (OP)
Haha!! Nice!! Too true!! Did he really marry her? I think he had kids with her right because we get to see old Joxer and his son later.
FirebirdWriter@reddit
It's possible the kids are adopted but yes he really married Meg
Jahon_Dony@reddit
I think we even briefly get to see her as "Old Meg." And she has a problem with flatulence.
Jahon_Dony@reddit
Yes.
FirebirdWriter@reddit
Yes they over did it but also it's a part of the era the show was made in and I would have made the Joxer of Xena. Which they did with Annie anyway
Pop_Stensbold@reddit
Have to admit I drew the line a bit at the Priestess episode. Not a favourite one of mine.
SakuraTacos@reddit
I was good with the Xena doubles we had, what more can you possible ask for when you’ve got my beloved Meg!
But I do wish there were more Gabrielles. I think it woulda been funny to have a Gab lookalike that’s cool and edgy that treated Xena the way Meg treated Gab — just totally dismissive, unimpressed and irreverent, she just doesn’t get the hype around Xena at all. And Xena pretends like it doesn’t get to her but it does, it really really does
delistravaganza@reddit
The Sappho episode ("Last Chance") was supposed to be like that, with Renée playing a self-absorbed version of the famous poet and Xena playing her submissive, faithful and all-too-often rejected lover. It wasn't perfect, but I would've paid GOLD to see that!
SakuraTacos@reddit
There’s some parts of that script I loved and some I’m glad never happened. We were robbed of what probably would’ve been Xena and Gab’s most passionate kiss but I’m glad we got Many Happy Returns instead, the poem at sunset was way more romantic
Sappho was kinda mean in Last Chance lol
MaryW1965@reddit
I like that. Xena could’ve used a dose of “dismissive” Gabby should have played hard to get, that would’ve gotten Xena’s attention!
ZvsGrgs@reddit
Lucy did a great job with the lookalikes. I am not sorry we didn’t have more Gab’s lookalikes, we had Hope and the performance was a bit cringy in my opinion.
ObnoxiousConsistent@reddit
hah! i would love a nonchalant Gab double. she would be... whatever is the ancient greek version of a biker chick? an ares priestess?
