Amazon (and other online retailers) are in an excellent position to give presents out for birthdays and holidays! Just do it once and the opinions of them will go way up!

I think there’s a parks and rec episode about why this is a bad idea

and just like santa, it should give the rich ones (who buy more) bigger presents and the poor ones (who buy less) cheaper presents

Seems like this is how we all get nice things...

I don't want a free deodorant. I've discovered it's just as cheap as my local shops but it might be in a wishlist.

Yeah, we would need dedicated Wishlists for the big giveaway. That way we wouldn’t get random deodorant and toothpaste. What would you want instead?

tryna figure the maths on this. 200ish million amazon prime subs (lets assume they only do this for amazon prime subs). 200 million x $50 (lets say the gift is capped at $50) = 10 billion. Amazon profit each year is around $40 billion per year according to FY23 income statement. So they could afford it and still have profit left over. they should do this it would be sick

Amazon the business is not equal to Amazon the online retailer.

Holy crap thanks for doing the math! Yeah they should do it! It would be a hell of a publicity boost.

This is insensitive. You are not thinking about the new yacht Bezos would have to miss out on ;)

I would like to publicly apologize for my statement to all who were affected. My heart goes out to them and their families, and especially to the yacht salesman who had been hoping for an early retirement!
