One of my favorite moments ever was when we were doing a test flight of our restored C-97 (military version of the 377) at Reading airport in Pennsylvania.
A corporate jet checked in on Tower frequency and we heard “Roger Lear 123, cleared for the visual approach. Traffic is a Stratofreighter circling over the approach end of Runway 13.”
The way he enunciated “Stratofreighter” was priceless! 🙂

For whatever reason, Northwest required square windows. The rest of the 377s were delivered with round windows.
NWA had my favorite scheme of all the Strat operators.
